Poor appointment system. Appt given 10.45am. But after 1 hour+ of waiting only get called for eye examination. For consultation, still need to wait again and again. If clinic’s manpower isn’t enough to cope with the pt flow, better limit the number of pt. Please don’t waste pts’ precious time.

He is the founder and Chairman of Lee Eye Centre. He is also currently the Medical Superintendent of Perak Community Specialist Hospital and a member of the Court of Examiners, College of Surgeons, Academy of Medicine, Malaysia. Dato Dr Y C Lee’s interests lie in cataract and anterior segment surgery and he is also renowned for his surgical innovations in the management of complicated cataracts. His innovative approach has also led to the development of a coaxial double aspiration technique for cortex removal, the details of which were published in the British Journal of Ophthalmology. He has numerous scientific publications and has contributed book chapters in many reference text books including Burrato’s book on “Phacoemulsification - Principles and Techniques”, “The Frontiers of Ophthalmology in the 21st Century“ and “Diseases of the Lens“. Dato Dr Y C Lee is a fellow of the International Intraocular Implant Club, American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Association of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and a founder member of the Asia Pacific Association of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.

He is the Medical Director of LEC. He graduated from the University of Manchester, UK and started his ophthalmology training in 1999. He was conferred Member of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (MRCOphth), Member of the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh (MRCSEd) as well as Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (FRCSGlasg) in 2003. He subsequently went on to complete his training at the Singapore National Eye Centre from 2005 to 2007 and became Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh (FRCSEd) in 2009. His subspecialty of interest is vitreoretinal surgery and he completed fellowship training under the mentorship of Professor Ian Constable at Lions Eye Institute in Perth, Western Australia in 2008. Dr Lee has always been active in ophthalmic research and has been involved in many clinical trials during his career and has presented his work at numerous conferences nationally as well as internationally. He also has over 20 scientific publications and has contributed several book chapters.

She is the latest addition to the LEC family and is a Senior Consultant with vast clinical and surgical experience in treating a wide range of eye diseases. She is a graduate from University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur and she joined the HUKM Master Programme in Ophthalmology in 2001 and upon completion in 2005, she became a Consultant Ophthalmologist at Hospital Ipoh. She has been very active in teaching and was a Lecturer at the Royal Perak College of Medicine and Co-Supervisor for Post Graduate Students in Ophthalmology as well as eye education for Post Basic Medical Assistants and nursing students. She has also been active in community service and was involved in the Eye screening Programme for Orang Asli in Kampung Semaloh, Grik in 2007 as well as the Cataract Camp for patients from the old folks’ home in Grik. She is a very experienced surgeon and has performed thousands of cataract surgeries as well as pterygium excision with conjunctival graft using fibrin glue. She has performed numerous complicated surgical repairs following injuries and is also competent in trabeculectomy, squint and eyelid surgery. Her special interests are in Medical Retina and Uveitis where she has been in charge of Eye Screening and Laser Treatment for premature babies as well as the Medical Retinal services for the state of Perak. She also has interests in Cornea and External Eye Diseases including Refractive Surgery.
