Dr Chris Taylor
FRCSC Dr. Chris Taylor, FRCSC is a certified plastic surgeon practicing in Victoria, British Columbia. After obtaining his medical degree from the University of British Columbia in 1993, he completed a rotating internship at the Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria. In 1999, he then completed a five-year residency in plastic surgery at the University of British Columbia. Upon successful completion of his specialty exams with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in 1999, Dr. Taylor returned to Vancouver Island to work in Victoria. After a one-year fellowship in reconstructive microsurgery at the Buncke Clinic/California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco, he then went on to do further microsurgical training in Taipei. In 2001, Dr. Taylor returned to Victoria, where he has since been in practice with the designation as a Fellow in Plastic Surgery of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCSC). He is honored to be the Division Head of Plastic Surgery in Victoria, working with a dedicated group of seven plastic surgeons. The Division provides cosmetic and reconstructive surgery locally as well as more complex procedures to the rest of Vancouver Island. Dr. Taylors professional memberships include: Fellow, The Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Canadian Society of Plastic Surgery Canadian Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery American Society of Reconstructive Microsurgery Canadian Medical Association

Couldn’t write a happier review.. Dr. Taylor did my surgery 2.5 years ago and I’ve had nonstop comments from friends about how minimal (almost completely invisible) my scars are and how natural my results are. I would highly recommend Dr. Taylor to anybody looking for a surgeon. Both my husband and I were so impressed with his professionalism and talent. His whole team (from the receptionists to the nurse who visited me at home) made me feel so comfortable and supported. My mother had a growth on her forehead that needed a plastic surgeons expertise. After researching many plastic surgeons, we decided that Doctor Taylor would be best. Like most women, my mother feared any scarring on her face. Doctor Taylor's name should be called, Doctor Magic. This plastic surgeon is incredible. He did the procedure on my mother with care and like an artist. My mother has a slight scar, which is hardly visible. He is the best! I would highly recommend him.... (Show more)

I went to Dr Taylor for a consult for hernia repair and tummy tuck to help with the look of my abdominal area due to c sections. His staff greeted me so warmly. Dr Taylor answered all my questions and put me at ease. The surgery went super well. The nurse who saw me in my home twice was so wonderful. Dr Taylor was always available if I had issues. Responded to a question via text within 5 minutes. What Dr does that? ❤️ The healing was fast and with no complications. I recommend Dr Taylor wholeheartedly. He's fantastic.... (Show more)
I had top surgery with dr Taylor last September as a part of a gender transition and my experience was horrible . Originally he told me I needed to lose weight to get the surgery and referred me to a terrible dietician and then never followed up , I called 9 months afterward and got a surgery date before an appointment with him. Once I got the appointment it came to my attention that he had miss heard my weight as 250 when I said 215 and I didn’t actually need to go to the dietician originally . I don’t know my exact size before surgery but I was double d at very least . All his pictures of past top surgeries were on average body type and smaller chests which made me nervous . Surgery happened and I went home to recover and I checked up with him about a week and a half later to access if I should get the drains out yet . I was very clear about how much I was draining collectively and from each side. He told me it was too much still and sent me home . I ended up having to go to Emerge a couple days later with an infected drain. That day I went to an emergency drain removal with dr Taylor . It’s clear he miss interpreted me AGAIN and thought I had been draining my collective amount out of each meaning this infection was 100 percent avoidable . During the drain removal I asked how he would remove them and all he said is , and I quote , ‘you’ll see’. He snipped the suture holding in drain and ripped it out without warning from my infected side . I nearly screamed from the pain . He took them out and told me I could take the pain meds I had been provided by my actual doctor After recovery it became apparent I needed a revision because the inner corner of both sides had excess fat on it , causing dysphoria still. I voiced this and he told me he will only do it under local because it’s not worth his time to put me under general , despite the fact that I have very extreme fear with sharp objects and medical procedures. Not only were those inner corners still left with fat , but my skin was pulled too tight and I had extremely limited movement in my shoulders for 8 months after the surgery which impacted my ability to work. Not to mention he has 0 bedside manner . I wouldn’t suggest this surgeon to anyone . He made me feel unsafe , he put me in danger and I’m not happy with his work and unwilling to contact him for the revision because of his dismissal of my fears .... (Show more)
I waited a couple of months to see the final result so as to provide an accurate review….I had a carcinoma removed from the side of my nose and it was a procedure that required Dr. Taylor to graft skin over the site. The end result was incredible….you could not tell that I had had this surgery a couple of months earlier. The staff at his office are absolutely wonderful and helpful. Dr. Taylor makes magic…..your surgical abilities are amazing….thank you!... (Show more)
I recently had a tummy tuck with Dr Taylor, and the result was amazing. If you want to do this surgery, you should definintely consider him.
Very happy with my results so far, almost 1 month post op. No complications and I’ve healed much better with very little to no discomfort. Dr. Taylor has a wonderful team and I was at ease with all my nursing visits, great overall experience and would recommend and go back in future if I require or want any further procedures.... I have had him for several procedures to remove tumors.. all were successful and had very minimal scarring. He is professional, friendly, and informative. I have no problem referring people to use his practice.
Dr. Taylor is simply remarkable as a surgeon and a medical professional. His calmness and knowledge instills so much confidence and I’m deeply appreciative of his expertise and kindness. I cannot say enough how wonderful Dr. Taylor and his team are. I had a breast reduction for medical reasons and my experience from the initial contact with the admin staff (Larissa) to post surgery exam with Dr. Taylor was exceptional. I did a tummy tuck in October 2022... best decision of my life. Dr. TAYLOR was amazing from my consult visit to the surgery... he didn't push the surgery at all... he is so informative and knowledgeable about it all. I wanted this so bad and was scared but the staff and him made me feel so comfortable from beginning to end!! And BTW the after care from the home nurse is amazing as well.. any questions I had any time or day they were there!!! DR. TAYLOR AND STAFF ARE AMAZING 👏... (Show more)
Dr.Taylor and his team have a very professional and welcoming atmosphere in the office. Dr.Taylor is very knowledgeable and will be there every step of the way to make sure you are getting the care and attention you require. The office responds very quickly and always will go above and beyond to ensure you are happy and satisfied. Dr.Taylor is an extremely professional and kind person. I went to him for mole excisions, and he made me feel very comfortable and was willing to answer all my questions. What I appreciated most about him, however, was his dedication to giving his full attention and effort to what is certainly a small job for him, and how genuine and authentic he is in conversation during treatment (no awkward small talk).
