Dr Terence McAlinden
Dr Mc Alindens background is in the medical research area and he has published articles in peer reviewed journals in the area of cancer research and in molecular biology. While working at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit as a research associate he decided on a career change. He graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1999 and worked for 2 years with Park Dental in Minneapolis. On returning to Ireland he work as an associate in Castlebar before taking over Tuam Dental from Dr Kieran Cooke in 2002. Dr Mc Alinden holds both American and Irish Dental Licensure and attends meeting in Europe and the United States regularly to keep up with latest innovations in techniques and materials.
Dr Kieran Cox
Dr Kieran Cox BDS joined the Tuam Dental team in Sept 2014 having recently returned from a busy general practice in London where he gained extensive experience in areas such as root canal treatments and crowns. A graduate of Trinity College, he is a caring dentist and is happy to treat nervous patients. Kieran keeps up with the latest developments in dentistry by attending lectures regularly and recently completed part 1 of the MJDF (Member of the Joint Dental Faculties) examinations.
Ms Sinead Horan
Sinead qualified from the Glasgow Dental Hospital in June 1992. She won the Ash Prize for best clinical student. She has worked in the public sector in Laois and Offaly, before moving to Galway where she has worked in various private practices. Sinead joined the Tuam Dental team in January 2003 She has completed further courses in local anaesthesia and health promotion. She is a member of the Irish Dental Hygienist Association and attends their annual meeting.
Hi I rang Dental Care looking for an emergency appointment broke a back tooth filling i had rang about 20 practices before them including my own dentist and couldn’t get an appointment but when I rang dental care they were great straight away organised an appointment next day. I went to Dr. Burke for an Invisalign check-up, attachment removal, and a cleaning. Unexpectedly, two fillings were deemed necessary, one on top and another on the bottom. However, during the procedure, he performed two fillings at the top, neglecting the bottom, as initially stated. I only discovered this discrepancy when they charged me for two fillings. Dr. Burke seemed distracted during the treatment, leading to severe pain afterward. A month later, I reported pressure pain, but Dr. Burke conducted temperature tests, claiming ignorance about the issue. He suggested a root canal, but I doubted its appropriateness. Despite the lovely reception staff, notably Brenda, the dental experience was disappointing. Four months later, the pain persists, and communication with Tuam Dental provided no resolution, leaving me hesitant to return. It seems like an unnecessary procedure for financial gain, as others have suggested.... (Show more)
From the moment I spoke with Caroline and Nora they put me right at ease. The dentist I saw as an emergency client was very efficient at diagnosing the issue and put me on the right course of treatment for same. Like many people, I'm not fond of visiting the dentist! But it's a lot easier since I started attending Dental Care Ireland in Tuam. The reception staff are extremely lovely and very helpful. On my last visit Nora pointed out that I was entitled to a free examination under PRSI which I would never have thought of. And Dr John is excellent at what he does and very pleasant to deal with. Had a pleasant experience at Dental Care Ireland Tuam. Receptionists were extremely helpful and friendly. The hygienist was very friendly and explained procedure very well. Made to feel very comfortable and at ease during procedure.
Staff were absolutely wonderful. So warm and supportive and treated me in an unhurried welcoming manner. Treatment options were explained clearly and addressed competently. Would 100% recommend.
