Unfortunately I think this is the worst private hospital I have came across. The staff are not friendly and I don’t think they care about patients. The radiography department is dreadful. Nobody answers the calls and I have been waiting for them to call me to give me an appointment for more then 10 days. We (patients) are paying for their wages and they just don’t do their job.... Had back surgery, all the staff were lovely, couldn't of asked for better, they all had a smile and very welcoming. Room was good with all the adaptations you could need, food was lovely.
I called today regarding my problems with booking test and prices and I been told that they are busy and hang out on me and after they said that they can't help me with that. I struggle with disabilities and they was very rude.
Extremely satisfied with the support
Comfortable, soothing staff, nothing is too much for the nurses or other staff. Needs were met and all questions were answered. All actions towards comfortableness was met.
My daughter has had a spinal fusion operation here. The drs, nurse, people that bring the food, Everyone is helpful and can’t do enough for you. The food is very nice. I am staying here with my daughter while she recovers the nursing staff and helpers are genuinely kind are caring they talk with compassion and really look after her so well.... (Show more)
Have read the comments below about poor admin/difficulties in actually speaking to someone. I have now been on hold for over 20 mins trying to make a new appointment, and am about to give up and go elsewhere ...
Good doctors and nice place. Phone booking service is not very pleasent, made me feel I was bothering rather than booking for a paid service. Difficult to park most times and reach the area is a nightmare with Cambridge traffic.
The experience at this hospital has been deeply let down by the Radiology Department, in trying to arrange a CT Scan. Calls go unanswered and messages left are not responded to. Even leaving a message with the main reception, which is subsequently passed on to Radiology goes unanswered. Not my idea of private medical care.... (Show more)
Wanted an angiogram tried contacting radiology but just got answering service. Left messages but not called back. Eventually spoke to someone to discuss my request who was dealing with it but then failed to call me back. Pattern repeated itself over several weeks. Now arranged to go elsewhere but sadly wasted weeks trying to get an appointment.... (Show more)
Very poor standard of communication. I booked for multiple MRIs and X-rays through a third party but have not heared back from Nuffield despite paying over £2000 for the service. This is very disappointing.
Slower than the NHS Staff are nice and place is clean and pleasant but I have been waiting a month for an MRI and the NHS would have been quicker than this. If you’re just getting private medical care for the surroundings fair enough. If you think you’re paying to skip the NHS wait think again.
Friendly but congested. Very poor provision for cycle parking
Parking a nightmare. Ended up going into city car park.
Great services.
AXA referred me for a scan here. They sent me the referal via email 23/08, which stated 'should you not hear from them 48-72 hours please call directly'. I called on 31/08 as I hadn't heard anything (5 working days). Someone from the department gave me a call back to say that they received the referal on 25/08 & they had 3 - 5 working days to respond, so I would hear soon (bit of a different timescale on both fronts & I can't believe that the request was sent by post!). Later that day I had a call back, when I was in meeting. They left a message to say call to arrange the appt. I called & left a message 31/08 & again on 01/09 & I've heard nothing. Pretty fed up, I thought going privately would be more efficient, apparently not!... (Show more)
Oncology Unit Nuffield Hospital - Cambridge: From the moment I entered the hospital all the staff were so helpful, pleasant, friendly and informative and made me feel right at home, not just myself but my wife as well. Everyone has been amazing I couldn’t wish to be in a better place going through a long worrying treatment plan. It’s really made dealing with AML Leukemia far easier, as every member of Nuffield have been 100 percent and I couldn’t of wished for better care around the clock. They are always so happy and caring and keep me so positive and smiling throughout my treatment. A special thank you to my consultant Dr Charles Crawley, and head nurses Sarah, and Gronia for their dedication and hard work behind the scenes. A few other nurses I would also like to thank personally are Mandy, Arnold, and Sandy. I would love to name them all! Sadly, I was diagnosed with AML back in June 2023. I had my first round of chemo treatment for AML as an inpatient at the hospital for the first few weeks and then treated as an out-patient. I honestly cannot thank every member of staff enough for the attentive and professional care given by each person. The Dr’s/consultants and nurses are on top of everything, and so fast at running bloods and any tests required for my treatment plan. The level of care support and compassion has been invaluable to my wife and me. The other services on site have been a real pillow of support too which are Maggies (the emotional support group) and the reflexology service, which has not only helped me to relax has help me to sleep. These are both free services! I went back for my second intensive weeks chemo treatment in August and although I was obviously very anxious about the treatment, I knew that being in such an amazing hospital with the first class service and team around me that I was in great hands, (which already feels like a little extended family to me) therefore this lowered my anxiety levels, which I know will assist with my ongoing treatment, stress levels and recovery. The rooms spotlessly clean and food is superb. This is a first class 5*hospital in my opinion. Well done Oncology team, I can’t thank you enough. Keep up the fantastic work! Best wishes. Forever in your debt Clifford Trayler... (Show more)
Awful, totally insensible and incompetent phone call service team. Had some confusion about an invoice so tried calling to clarify. Took more than half an hour to get through each time, and in the second call, the person on the phone went mad for no reason and start interrupting every sentence I said, and hang up on me.... Painful experience to get appointments and even through on the phone! The consultants and the nurses are great, don't get me wrong. It's the admin which is an extremely painful exercise. Considering it's a private hospital, the 'speed' at which they arrange your appointments is snail pace. I just about got a consultant appointment (which might be due to the government opening up private healthcare to NHS patients) however, I handed in my scan referral form a week ago and still no contact on when my appointment will be. What are we paying for? This should be embarrassing for Nuffield Health!... (Show more)
Nuffield is very difficult to navigate through. Ringing to the reception desk to get an appointment with a doctor - they sent me to chase doctor's personal assistant in response. The personal assistant has very limited working hours, and even during those working hours I had to call 7 times before they picked up the phone. However, they were not able to give me an appointment and asked to send them a email (!). Which i did, and they put me in the queue for doctor to read my email sometimes next week, and decide on the 20 phone appointment (in-person appointment is not in the picture, even though I have a GP referral). Very disappointing, i decided to go to another clinic.... (Show more)
