I visited this clinic once for a diagnosis, and it's been over 5 weeks since my visit. Despite frequent reminders, I still haven't received a simple medical report. The lack of proper communication regarding the expected timeline, especially when they initially promised it within a week, has had a significant impact on my university life. While Dr. Joseph was helpful during the session, I've decided not to return to this clinic. The extended delay in providing the report feels unprofessional, and their premium charges for consultations seem exploitative and somewhat questionable. Overall, my experience left me with a sense of disappointment and frustration. I never give google reviews but this establishment truly enrages me.... (Show more)
went for a simple consultation session with dr. stephens ....had a general chat with him about precautions that i should be taking to stay away from my d.o.c and at the time of payment i was asked to pay a massive amount of rm 630 ( just consultation ). i was visiting dr. philips george since 2017 regularly who worked in mind faculty as well and i paid rm 150-rm 200 each time i was seeing dr. philips. well , i dont want to comment on my experience with dr. stephens as he is not even a specialist in substance abuse field. i thought of sharing this as rm 630 might be valuable to other visitiors so that u can have a bettee understanding incase u r visiting the place.... Very irresponsible team. The consultant may be good but not the staffs. I have made my payments and waiting for then to confirm the collection of the medication. All through WhatsApp. No-one replies. And rhey know that we need certain medicine continuously but then they do not have the stocks for it. People is under depression and no medications. I have asked for prescription to allow me to purchase outside, even that no reply. Very frustrating dealing with the staff. If we call to their main phone no, no one will be answering.... (Show more)
What in the hell is this place? I made an appointment via WhatsApp and there was no indication given me to prior to my appointment that I would not be able to see Dr Stephen. I came to the centre 15 minutes early thinking that it would give me sufficient time for any registrations if needed. They didn’t tell me to do it but I did it anyway because I’ve been to enough psychiatrist clinic to know what to expect. What I don’t expect is having to wait for so long only for the receptionist to tell me that Dr Stephen can’t meet me today. I have mental illness and now I guess I’ll have to go without medications for a few days. Thanks for wasting my time. My appointment was supposed to be at 4pm btw so there was plenty of time to tell me ahead of time that I can’t meet the doctor. But nobody cared. Not to mention the decorations are hideous. I had better experience being in hospital bahagia... (Show more)
I would like to write a review on Ms. Sitra. First of all I would like to say that Ms. Sitra is an amazing psychologist. I have been going to her for a couple of years now and I have also recently brought my son to see her. I'm a Muslim and she understands and respect my views on certain issue that I am going through and we discussed some solutions according to my religion principles. She's very open and I feel very comfortable working with her. I also feel that she truly tries her best to help and build rapport with my child. I can tell that she's really good with kids too. I would highly recommend adults and children to see her as she is very competent in her job.... (Show more)
After just 1 appointment with Dr. Lim Chee Min, I decided not to go back. When I told him how severe my insomnia is, he literally didn't believe me. I find it utterly ridiculous that he could possibly think I was making this up. He told me to reduce my dosage of seroquel from 600mg to 100mg immediately without tapering. I repeatedly told him that even 300mg isn't enough to put me to sleep due to my abnormally high tolerance and he didn't listen to me at all. I'm sorry but I have no desire to die from sleep deprivation or seroquel withdrawals. As if that wasn't enough, Mind Faculty charged me more than 900 RM since it was my first (and last) appointment there. This place is the definition of a scam. If you want a good doctor for reasonable prices, avoid the Mind Faculty at all costs.... (Show more)
Dr. Lim Chee Min attended to me about a year ago, when I was in a pretty bad state mentally. He is warm and assuring in his consultations and thorough in his examination prior to diagnosis. The meds he prescribed me for my condition (GAD) was effective and was able to address my situation after about 5 months, after which I which was I able to come off them with intermittent dosing as needed. The consultation and medical costs were also very reasonable. The front desk staff were courteous and attentive, and they took the trouble to reconfirm my appointment with me. Overall a very good experience, and I would recommend him to anyone seeking help with this specific condition... (Show more)
First review on ever but I feel the need to inform people. First the good is that my session with dr a Joseph was enjoyable but basically in my case I could care less about that I was just going to get a prescription for ADHD. The bad now… They charge 1200 for for my prescription plus the consultation with dr Joseph, this was ok for me but just be aware that it is not cheap… but I’m a foreigner so it might cheaper for Malaysian I’m not sure. After 1 month I texted them to get a refill, they first ask me how much pills I wanted and after I respond no answer for like two days… hmmm ok I texted them again and they said they needed approval from dr Joseph… the. No answer for about 4-5 days. I then replied that ai would need an update on Monday they respond that I need to reschedule an appointment with dr Joseph… we’ll that’s weird because me and dr Joseph talk 2 minutes about adhd and 45 minutes about our hobbies and stuff like that so that seems like they want to overcharge you. Anyways, I’m rambling but yeah there is many psychiatrist in KL and I would recommend to go somewhere else. PS: Mind clinic don’t answer to this reviews with you are not in our record like you respond to everyone who gives a bad reviews.... (Show more)
My impression of this centre is that it is quite exploitative and engages in unethical practices. Firstly, their pricing structure for psychiatrists ranges from RM300-600. This was given to me by their front desk staff. The reasoning they gave for the wide ranges is that they charge differently depending on the severity of the case. At first glance, this seemed fair. I saw Dr Stephen for issues relating to anxiety and depression. I was on medication at the time, which was prescribed to me by another psychiatrist and my symptoms have pretty much gone away by the time of my first session with Dr Stephen. The first session was very enlightening and he said that I could be having attention deficit disorder (ADD). At first I trusted his insights because Dr Stephen does have a good reputation and does teach at UM. He charged me RM530 for the session, which lasted for 1 hour 10 mins. I thought this was a bit high but justified it to myself because it was the first session and he did bring to light issues that I did not realise I had. My second session, however, was incredibly disappointing. The session started 20 mins late and lasted for only 30 mins. During that time, Dr Stephen was totally distracted and was constantly on his phone. He even forgot basic details like what medication I was on even though I mentioned it during the first session. We did not really do any meaningful psychotherapy or the EMDR that he said he would do in the previous session. He also forgot about how he diagnosed me with ADD during the previous session until I brought it up. He then proceeded to prescribe me with Ritalin, despite not having done any formal diagnosis for my ADD condition. We only talked about symptoms and he concluded I had ADD. Overall, it was not a productive or effective session at all and I was charged RM530 for that session, which was shocking. I then understood why the Mind Faculty gives price ranges instead of fixed prices like in other places - it gives them a way to charge their patients exorbitant prices and no one can argue about the price. In my opinion, this is such a shameful practice as this centre is taking advantage of vulnerable people who are desperate for help. Mental health patients are already such an underserved community and we cannot claim insurance for these prices so it is often paid out-of-pocket. Moreover, the front desk staff are pretty bad. They often mess up appointments, book in appointments on the wrong day and give the wrong reminders. My brother also saw a psychologist here. His first appointment was not in the system and so when he turned up, he could not be seen. This centre claims to be a ‘premium’ centre yet the service is a far cry from premium. What bothered me the most is how quickly people are diagnosed for conditions. Conditions like ADD usually require a formal diagnostic process where the psychiatrist would speak to your parents, etc. But in my experience, Dr Stephen just chatted with me briefly, said I had ADD and immediately prescribed me with medication. I found this to be quite unethical. I would advise others to stay away from this centre. It doesn’t seem like they care about their patients and they are just in it for the money.... (Show more)
I had a session with Dr. Stephen not longer than an hour ago as I am writing this review. Dr. Stephen was incredibly knowledgeable, professional, experienced, and he assured me that the challenges I was going through were nothing to be ashamed of. As mentioned in the website, my first session with Dr. Stephen, he did a complete psychiatric evaluation. With the stigma of mental health in Malaysia, I was nervous going in, but by the end Dr. Stephen created a safe space where I was comfortable and accepting of my problems, and more importantly, aware that I can change them with treatment. He patiently discussed my issues and explained to me whatever I couldn’t understand or had trouble realising. I highly recommend this place and Dr. Stephen if you’re looking for a psychiatrist who actively listens and helps the patient. My 70 minute consult cost me RM630 but it was worth every ringgit....
