DO NOT DO IT! If you want to develop a dental phobia, get treated by Guido the Butcher. This man works so harshly, without any form of empathy or humanity. While pulling, I was told not to act like that because I found it exciting. He didn't even tell me that the teeth had been pulled, he just walked out of the room without saying anything. While I told him how tense I was and how I wanted it to be over. After pulling, I indicated that I missed friendliness in his treatment. He responded literally screaming. Professionalism is really hard to find in this man. The assistant literally said to me: yes, sorry, we know what he is like. 😅 There is a strange working atmosphere there because no one seems to dare to say anything and all his colleagues (also in other practices) talk behind his back. Then a stitch was forgotten to be removed at the next appointment. I called them, explained this and said that it is people's business and that it can happen. I was literally laughed at by dental hygienist Jody, I was put on speaker so everyone could laugh along, and I was told that was really not possible. I had to send pictures as proof because she didn't believe me... abnormal. Emails are ignored for months. There is no communication at all possible with these people if it is not purely positive. very bad and rude service

Not Recommended!!! Regrettably, my recent visit to Tandartsen aan de Herengracht was far from satisfactory. The dentist Guido not only displayed an unfriendly demeanor but also showed a lack of commitment to completing the job properly. Now, I find myself unable to bite correctly after the supposedly fixed issue. Considering my experience, I'd advise exploring alternative options for a more reliable and thorough dental service. I regret having to post this response, I have been a patient for more than 20 years and am very satisfied with dental hygienist Yolande Frohwein (hence ⭐️⭐️) but on October 4 I sent a complaint about treatment by owner Guido van West and there To date (even after a reminder, it is now October 25) NO response has been received. Dear Guido and team, I hope everything goes well. After being a patient with you for more than 20 years, my experience last Monday, October 2, 2023, was unfortunately a low point, which I am reporting in this email. I experienced a tense atmosphere in the treatment room and a sullen attitude, which made this visit unpleasant for me. For example, the anesthesia was administered without notice and there was hardly any communication at all. Non-verbal irritation was particularly palpable. The heavy-handed actions of both dentist and assistant led to a torn corner of the mouth, which was absolutely preventable. What stuck with me most, however, is the total disinterest in all areas. Given this experience, I wonder: can I expect similar treatment on my next visit? Or are there concrete plans to improve the patient experience? I look forward to a response.... (Show more)

what a shameless place. Guido COULD be a competent dentist, were it not for his greed and lack of human interaction skills. He treats you as if you should be happy that his highness has found time to help common people like ourselves. Don't even try to discuss or challenge his assumptions, his patience is already extremely thin for common people so better not to upset him. Simply try to force a smile, wait till the job is done and be happy when you get presented a high bill with excessive work on it. Does not matter how long you have been a patient, he just look at the bag of money rolling in. Better dentists out there, both technically and financially but more importantly, who actually appreciate your business and time.Guido, you old sock, I hope you find a smile somewhere in that business of yours. Updated to English. Guido, the main dentist, is a joke. I sat down and told him that my implant broke on a thin wooden skewer. He immediately says it cannot be. I say well yes it was. And immediately he explodes saying the vibe is bad and he doesnt want to work with me. What the hell?! He projects my comments on his own capabilities whereas I simply am stating the facts. Guido has serious personality issues. For a customer who has spent north of 12000 euro, i was kicked out of the room because he interprets my words incorrectly. Should have known reading the comments. Very unfriendly and arrogant dentist. Seems impatient as if everybody is wasting his time. Happy to have gone somewhere else, plenty of dentists that are capable, don't charge unnecessary scans and actually are friendly when they interact. If you want to have a grumpy old man as a dentist with the social skill of a todler, this is the place.... (Show more)

I was very happy with the aligner treatment. I asked for offers at other dentists to correct one tooth only, and everywhere they tried to sell me a very expensive all-in package. At TaDH however I could get a less costly and very good option to correct only my one specific tooth. The result was great, I am super happy with the advice that Iris the dentist gave me. I’ve been coming here since 2013 and have always had such great, patient, kind, understanding and helpful encounters with the assistants, dentists, hygienists and the rest of the staff. Thank you so much for making these experiences so nice, especially since I came here so shaky from past experiences with previous clinics. I’ve had regular check ups, fillings, crowns, root canals, wisdom teeth extractions and cleaning done here. By different dentists and hygienist, all were amazing. Friendly, careful, communicative, professional. My dentist here is Maartje and a special thank you to Sabrina who was extra patient with me on the phone when I called about ten times last week to make, cancel and change appointments because I was in a bit of a tricky situation!... I removed a wisdom tooth for the first time, the dentist knew. I was treated badly, the dentist Guido got upset because according to him I didn't open my mouth to the maximum. At the end of the operation I was shaking. Bad empathy from Guido bad service.

While I have been enjoying the services delivered by the dentist Seb and the mouth hygienist Yolande since Autumn 2014, the pandemic revealed some questionable safety and hygiene protocols followed at the practice. It has turned out that a team member sneezing and coughing, while being present at work, that some personnel not wearing the face masks, that not insisting that the visitors wear face masks - are normal things there. To hear this from a healthcare provider, when the COVID-19 infection numbers are increasing day by day, is terrifying. Very nice dental practice! Very large and everything under one roof. The receptionist and assistants are very friendly and you can laugh with them. In addition, they are also professional and good at their job. I didn't feel anything when the assistant administered anesthesia to me. I'm used to it differently! The dentist himself is short and concise, but knows what he does. My wisdom tooth was removed within 3 minutes. Received a good explanation about the aftercare and she even called me afterwards to send me a prescription.... (Show more)

Had an unpleasant experience at this dental clinic. The stuff is careless and sloppy! I was bleeding after a small check-up on each teeth/gum Dr.Guido touched, that never happened to me before. 5 people from the stuff just randomly passed by during my checkup, it felt more like being at the train station than at the clinic. In the middle of the conversation Dr.Guido just left, I was sitting alone with no idea that the checkup was over. Lastly in the invoice they charged me extra for the service I didn’t ask for. When I came back to clarify it they returned the money back, but were very enjoyed and rude. Avoid going there!... (Show more)

Bad dental practice, specifically Guido van West. This dentist does not want to do a periodic check-up without taking 3 x-rays (for which they of course charge extra) and charges a complex tooth extraction + extra anesthesia costs for a simple, uncomplicated wisdom tooth for which anesthesia is already included in the price. All in all, very dissatisfied, poor price/quality ratio and poor expertise.... (Show more)

A dental practice where you know you will be taken care of very well. They have the latest equipment and latest procedures. The Dentist is quite skilled and was able to take care of my impacted wisdom teeth.

I would not recommend this practice to anyone, honestly. Overcharged for poor service and some degree of recklessness. Went in the last week of December to get teeth cleaned. The staff were not wearing masks and the customers coming in were not wearing masks. Only the hygienist put on a mask just as I was entering the room. When I tried to ask the reception staff about the lack of mask-wearing, she replied "I don't want to discuss this with you!" rudely. Just think about how careless they might be with other hygiene practices if they don't take a pandemic seriously. Plus without informing me in advance that fluoride treatment costs extra, they just put it on my teeth which left my teeth greasy for 3 days. And when I saw the invoice that came by email a few days later, I saw the extra charge that I was not asked about prior to the treatment.... (Show more)
