Steiman Smiles Orthodontics

Had my retainer recently repaired. It was originally inserted by Dr Steiman in the 90’s. I loved going for the appointments when I was younger and going back brought back those lovely memories. He hasn’t changed and so happy to see how much he has expanded. he’s a great orthodontist. The staff are lovely and the office is even better than when I went. I love the art work in the office. The waiting room is nice and roomy and I didn’t wait long. If he is still around by the time my kids need it, would bring them there for their orthodontics. Dr. Steiman and his work family are all so wonderful and very knowledgeable. My daughter and husband had ortho treatment done with Dr. Steiman as well as my extended family. Now, he will be treating my son for his ortho treatment. Dr. Steiman and his work family have always made us feel comfortable and there is no other place I would rather take my family than Dr. Steiman. If I could give a 10 star I most definitely would! Very pleased with the results of my Invisalign treatment, and I'm happy to no longer be self-concious about my smile! I had consulted with some other places but ultimately decided to go with Dr. Steiman again; this time as an adult patient. About 20 years(!) ago I had braces done by Dr. Steiman. The original results were excellent! But.. poor life decision of not wearing a retainer (after the treatment was fully complete) and needing to have wisdom teeth extracted caused things to start drifting and my smile & bite wasn't what it once was. Invisalign treatment was smooth and did not really deviate from the original plan he laid out besides for COVID lockdowns extending the treatment length. I went today on November 28, 2022 to the Orthodontist at Steinman Smiles Orthodontics for my 2nd appointment regarding my Invisalign treatment! The Hygienist was amazing she put the attachments on my teeth and explained everything to me. Then I had another wonderful lady teach me how to put on and off my Invisalign trays because now they are much more difficult to take off and put on with the attachments on my teeth. Then I left the Orthodontics office and I called them with a question and the receptionist was very polite and kind and answered my questions. Then I also emailed the Orthodontics Office and within 10 minutes I received a reply with my question answered!!! Dr. Steinman and his team are 100% excellent!!! They are extremely skilled, professional, and very kind!!! As well its very convenient as I only drive 10 minutes from my work to this wonderful Orthodontist!! This is the place! Dr. Steiman and his care team are the absolute BEST, look no further! I saw some wonderful reviews posted from other parents and they were so right! Dr. Steiman’s initial consultation was incredibly thorough and detailed. He explained every step and there was zero pressure at all. Dr. Steiman took the time to speak directly to my child, answered our questions, and reassured our concerns. We felt welcomed and knew we were in good hands from the moment we walked in. I have a very nervous little 8 year old who was so worried about getting her braces on, but even SHE was astounded by how comfortable the procedure was AND how wonderful Dr. Steiman and his care team were in reassuring her/us throughout. No smiles here...I am truly upset, disturbed and disgusted with this orthodontist Dr. Steiman along with his money making business and scam. It was our first appointment to meet with an orthodontist, and we were new to understanding the procedures and cost associated with getting braces for our daughter. I also shared my concern about wanting to find a safe and honest place for our daughter to feel comfortable. NOT AT ALL -- not even close!!! Dr. Steiman was all smiles, performed the check up, made small talk with our daughter, and seemed pleasant enough, then told us to start right away because our daughter's situation required immediate attention! After he left the room, the lady assisting him quickly shared the cost and said if we decide to go ahead we needed to pay $400 upfront to cover the initial x-rays. We were totally fooled and gave in (so angering...) only to find out after visiting 3 other clinics, that we did not have to pay for anything upfront because the initial x-rays were complimentary with the free consultation for the purpose of assessment! ALSO the other 3 orthodontists recommended TO WAIT as it was still TOO SOON to do anything, AND to start now would mean to waste our daughter's time with an extra year of braces that would be ineffective and a waste of money for us! Apart from Dr. Steiman ---- > THE OTHER 3 CLINICS SAID THE EXACT SAME THING!!! Steiman is a cheat, and no matter what anyone says, the way he robbed us and the way they played on our sympathy as parents was totally unethical. It has been an incredible Journey! As someone who got their braces in their late 40's, I would like to share my experience: Aside from having crooked teeth, I also had a severe overbite where my front teeth would stick out, even when my mouth was closed. My parents couldn't afford to get me braces when i was younger, too expensive. Once i was older i decided to look into braces as my dentists had always been recommending it for the future health of my teeth, and also because i would at times feel discomfort when i slept as my bottom front teeth would cut into my upper gums due to the overbite. I visited with an orthodontist who recommended that i get jaw surgery to correct my overbite: my bottom jaw would be broken, extended forward, and screws would be used to secure it, it would take several months for the whole process, then the braces would start. ahhhhh no, sorry, that was a little too much for me. They advised they would only do it that way. I checked with another orthodondist who advised the same. Disheartened, I looked into invisalign but because of the overbite it wouldn't work. I tried to reconcile with my situation telling myself it didn't matter, I'm fine how i am, besides, braces was a thing you do when you're a kid, so i gave up on it. Years passed until eventually i grew too frustrated with the discomfort my teeth were causing, not to mention my hesitancy in smiling and laughing in social gatherings as i was uncomfortable with my teeth, so i decided to meet with another orthodontist. This time i was referred to Stieman Smiles. I met with Dr Stieman who also advised jaw surgery would be best, however, he also gave an alternative, i would just need to get 4 of my teeth pulled to make space to move around the rest of the teeth and then we could start the braces. I felt very comfortable with Dr Stieman, and his staff was also very friendly and professional. I decided to go for it and scheduled for my dentist to pull those 4 teeth out. For about 2-3 days, there was a lot of pain from that, but with some advil, soup and Netflix, i was able to get through it. Next, Dr. Stieman put in the braces, i went with clear braces in the front which would be less visible. I wouldn't say the braces were painful, but there certainly was discomfort from the pressure i was feeling on my teeth. I could only eat soft foods for about 4-5 days. Cleaning them at night took a few more minutes then usual but i quickly grew accustomed to that. Things were rolling now, I would visit every month for an adjustment/tightening that lasted barely a few minutes. After each adjustment, there would be about 2-3 days where i would feel pressure from the tightening and would just stay on soft foods, but after that, the rest of the month passed without issue. Surprisingly, very few people realized i was wearing braces, the clear braces really worked well at concealing themselves. My monthly visits to Stieman Smiles started feeling like visits to relatives, there is a real family atmosphere there, everyone is polite, friendly, and we would always engage in friendly chat. It was fascinating to watch Dr Stieman execute his plan for my teeth and make his adjustments to get them moving the way he wanted them to. After about 3 1/2 years, my braces were removed. i had a bar placed behind the bottom front teeth to keep them in place and opted to just wear a retainer when i sleep at night instead of having a bar placed behind the top front teeth. i actually feel comfortable wearing the retainer to sleep, and the bar in the lower teeth is fine, it doesn't pose any discomfort or trouble. It can be expensive, but i must say its well worth it, and the time just passes by. Friends who are considering braces ask me about them all the time and i tell them, Don't let your age be a deterrence! Aside from sleeping well, i smile now without any hesitancy and that gives me a confidence i never knew before. I have been a patient of Dr Steiman for about two years. My treatment will soon be complete . I am an adult and felt awkward getting braces at this point in my life . I am also a person who has always felt very nervous about getting dental work. Dr Steiman and his team of professional have never failed from day one to put me at ease . Dr Steiman has taken the time and care to discuss my progress throughout my treatment . The staff are all friendly and genuinely care. The atmosphere in the office is always happy and cheerful . When I have been unable to attend an appointment due to a conflict they have gone out of their way to always try to accommodate me.
