over the last 7 yrs of stent change procedures x7. I have had no problems and have always been put at ease and found Andrew Fuller so friendly and professional. Until my stent change procedure on 18th Jan 24..procedure went well as always..but 3 days later I was in chronic lower back pain. after numerous ct scans and trips into emergency an MRI diagnosed discitis/osteo mialiytis. I have up to now lost 2 months of my life in pain.in hospital for 1wk with picc line fitted and daily antibiotics infused daily for 38 days. I am still not out of the woods yet w/o the antibiotics by tablets ongoing until infection has gone. Drs are fairly certain this bacteria infection was as a result of my procedure in Jan. I just needed to bring it to someone's attention.trish ward... (Show more)

After calling the day before to make sure the day I was given was correct and confirming it multiple times, I proceeded to drive nearly 5 hours to the location. Only to be informed that I was given the wrong date. 10 hours driving with return prob couple hundred in fuel. For nothing. When I rang them I was also hung up on three times trying to simply reconfirm my booking which they clearly failed to do. If there was an alternative for remote locations I would take it. Hopefully when I finally see a doctor he can improve my opinion of this whole ordeal. Prob gonna ring the day before and day of when my supposed correct date comes around apparently that's what's needed to confirm an appointment correctly.... (Show more)

I cannot thank Dr. Kahokehr enough. I was quite nervous going into the procedure but he and his team were unbelievable and couldn't have done anymore to help me. Kind regards Mark

My initial impression of the Urologist I saw and service leading up to surgery were positive. Ultimately because of the public system (it just so happens that) someone else performed the surgery. Fair enough, it's the public system etc. However, noticed some minor issues since being discharged. Because initial urologist did not perform the procedure, they essentially stone-walled and refused to even perform so much of a check-up, while the hospital system has me jumping through hoops months later on their end and have gotten absolutely nowhere, palmed off by both sides. While it's partly a larger systemic issue, the refusal for a general check-up of things and just outright passive aggressive tone when direct contact was actually eventually established via phone left me feeling taken-aback and shocked. Many patients and potential patients rely on health professionals for guidance and support, both with our health issues and in navigating an otherwise stressful and overwhelming health system. Trust is also a very important but fragile thing. To have such a professional communicate in such a negative way on their principles feels very inappropriate. I don't know if this is true of all Urologist at STU or just my experience, but frankly it left me with a very negative experience and feelings, and as such I'm sorry to say I don't recommend them. If you do choose to proceed, I hope things work out better for you, but I would not return even if given the choice.... (Show more)

I was a bit apprehensive naturally, but my concerns were addressed. Momentarily slightly uncomfortable, but far better than leaving an issue until it is too late.

They acknowledged getting my referral a week ago but never called me back to get an appointment. Bit puzzled by this. Must be super busy practice. Oh well, back to the gp to get a referral for someone less busy.

I have now had two TURPs, a Robotic Radical Prostatectomy, Pelvic Lympadenectomy at the hands of Peter Sutherland and John Bolt. I cannot speak highly enough of this practice, its people and its attitude to the care of its patients. From the surgeons, the nurses, the physiotherapists and the administrative staff - they are all very special people in the way they conduct their business. Special mention to John Bolt, Peter Sutherland, Sharn, Rachel and Emily. My Christmas would be bleak without them.... (Show more)

After formal training in the General Urological Fellowship in Australia I gained further specialised training in the Fellowship position at UT south western Dallas, Texas. This gave me greater exposure to major urological surgery, prosthetic surgery and bladder reconstruction. Since 1989 I have been a Consultant Urologist at the Royal Adelaide Hospital and Hampstead Centre and have provided broad general urological services to rural South Australia and to Broken Hill. At South Terrace Urology I have offered a general urological service to include the treatment of urological cancers including prostate, kidney and testes as well as the management of stone surgery and lower urinary tract symptoms in men and women.
