About Sonríe - Mandri Smiles PROF. DR. MIGUEL MERINO ARENDS Following in his grandparents' and parent's footsteps in medical field, Miguel attended the Central University of Venezuela, obtaining a Degree in Dentistry. He undertook his clinical training in the Dentistry Department of Hospital San Juan de Dios in Caracas, before moving to Barcelona where he completed a Master in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. He received official ratification of his Degree in Dentistry from the University of the Basque Country in Bilbao, Spain. He then moved to the United States of America to continue his clinical and surgical training at the North Carolina University under the guidance of Dr. William Proffit. He went on to become the Professor of the Programmed Oral Stimulation Therapy at the University of Barcelona. He currently coordinates and teaches the Orthodontics Master course at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. He is also the coordinator of the DKV Seguros Médicos orthodontics department. He has had a number of articles published in scientific journals and is co-author of the book "Estimuloterapia en Ortodoncia" (Orthodontics Stimulation Therapy) with Prof. José Durán Von Arx, Professor of Orthodontics at the University of Barcelona.
