Dr Mia Smith
Dr Mia is a graduate from Glasgow, UK, who has a wealth of experience from the UK before migrating to Australia. She has a very calm nature, and her patients love her nimble hands, and her comforting nature. She is skilled in general dentistry, fillings, extractions and root canal treatments, as well as looking after the overall health of patients, with a keen interest in periodontal health and gum treatments, which can lead to a better health outcome for her patients. Dr Smith is a BUPA Preferred provider.
Dr Ben Scully
A dentist of 10 years experience, Dr Ben Scully is one of our most experienced team members when it comes to wisdom teeth removal. He has very advanced Oral Surgery skills. As a general dentist he explains treatment options for his patients, and makes sure the patient is aware of what is happening at all stages. He also has undertaken additional qualifications to assist patients with Nitrous Sedation, and his patients find him gentle, effective and a pleasure to visit.
Dr Russell McDonald
Dr Russell is an Australian trained dentist, who has expertise in smile makeovers, as well as Invisalign (clear braces). He works with us on Mondays and Fridays. He has a calm, gentle nature, and connects well with patients of all ages. As well as his amazing chair-side nature, our patients often comment on his smile, and genuine helpful nature. Dr McDonald is a BUPA Preferred provider when he is working with us at Smart Choice Dental.

Absolutely amazing. I am VERY nervous about anything dental related but broke a tooth so had to get it fixed, every single person from the lovely lady answering the phone, the admin staff greeting me, the dental assistant/nurse and Dr. Reza all took amazing care of me today and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Had a easy quick tooth extraction with Dr. Alex today and my experience was great. Already expected the strong push and pull from extracting procedure, but he’s been very instructive and reassuring as we go - definitely helps to calm the jitters. First time at the clinic today and just checked my area on the highest rating clinic, and truly well deserved from their capable staff! Highly recommend... (Show more)
Dr Reza is the best! He is just so gentle and calming. I had my wisdom teeth removed today and it was so easy. He made me feel so calm. I don’t have any swelling or pain. His dental nurse was also amazing. She made me something to stop the glasses from hitting my eyelash extensions! They both went above and beyond.... (Show more)
Really great dentist. Dr. Reza and Dianne are the A-Team who made me feel very relaxed and comfortable during my visit. If you are anxious about the dentist, these two will put you right at ease, highly recommend!
Probably the worst experience yet. Unfortunately all about numbers and turnover. Your loyalty is irrelevant. They are on such a tight timeline, I get the feeling they are only about the $$$.

Dr Alex was a absolute blessing I have spent years avoiding the doctors chair due to two horrible experiences. Dr Alex has reassured my faith and comfortable levels in dentistry and healthcare . Smart Choice Dental are always trying to upsell on every visit. In my opinion $$$ is all they care about. I no longer trust what they say.
I highly recommend Smart Choice Dental! I recently had my teeth whitened and some composite caps replaced, and the experience was smooth, pain-free and I'm delighted with the results. Karen and Dr Sammy were both fantastic - very friendly, made me feel calm and comfortable and did a brilliant job. Everyone from the reception staff, to the dentists, nurses and dental assistants are so welcoming and lovely - it's the best experience I have had at a dentist and I will definitely be back.... I needed an emergency appointment for my son today and they fit me within the hour despite not being an existing patient of theirs. The receptionist Kate was so lovely! The dentist Dr. Ben Scully was excellent, very professional and did an awesome job repairing the chip in my sons tooth. You can barely tell that there was a chip there at all! I haven’t been to the dentist in over 10 years due to history of trauma. The dental hygienist Tylah was so welcoming and explained everything. Dr Thamid provided trauma informed care and talked me through everything throughout the appointment. Even the girls at reception where lovely! Today both my wife and I visited Smart Choice Dental Maidstone for the first time. We had moved from inter state so was hesitate to find a new dentist. Been a nervous patient I found Dr Ben to be a wonderful calming influence explaining everything as he went. We highly recommend making an appointment and can't thank both Dr Ben and Receptionist Kate for their professional, caring service and going the extra mile. Rating 11/10.... (Show more)
