Dr Sean Lanigan
Dr Sean Lanigan, MD FRCP DCH, is Group Medical Director and Consultant Dermatologist for sk:n, The UK’s No.1 skin clinic and Honorary Consultant Dermatologist - City Hospital, Birmingham. As the range of and awareness for skin diseases has grown, so has Dr Lanigans enthusiasm for the subject and he is now recognised internationally as an expert in the field of laser treatment of skin diseases. He has over 20 years of contributed research and over 140 publications under his belt. He is the author of the only European textbook on laser treatment of skin diseases entitled Lasers in Dermatology, published by Springer and sold worldwide. He is also Editor in Chief of Lasers in Medical Science, the leading scientific medical laser journal in Europe and has received multiple citations in Whos Who in Medicine and Healthcare, Whos Who in Science and Engineering and Best Doctors in the UK.
Dr Askari Townshend
Medical Director Dr Askari Townshend qualified from Nottingham University Medical School and then spent several years in surgical training including work in breast reconstruction and plastic surgery. Dr Townshend is a full time sk:n doctor and an expert in rejuvenation treatments. He has been Medical Director of our Northampton sk:n clinic since December 2010.
Dr Irshad Zaki
FRCP MRCP BM,BS BMed Sci (Hons) After qualifying from the University of Nottingham, Dr Zaki gained wide general medical experience before undertaking specialist training in dermatology. Dr Zaki has taken a particular interest in dermatological and laser surgery, and had the benefit of excellent tuition which included a sabbatical with Dr Picoto in Lisbon. As a result, he has achieved an advanced level of expertise in both general dermatological surgery and mohs micrographic surgery, in addition to becoming proficient in the use of a variety of dermatological lasers.
Ozlem has been incredible with my tattoo removal. She is knowledgable and puts me at ease. Previous tattoo removal hadn’t been as great with results but I am seeing improvements already with Ozlem. Her and the staff are very friendly and professional.
Very professional - cannot fault the due diligence undertaken prior to treatment with every element explained every step of the way. This is my first experience and was dubious about which clinic to choose as so many scare stories but very happy with my choice - treatment ongoing so not able to say yet whether it’s been a success but early indications are good... My last session was very rushed, and they didn’t apply any cream/pain relief after laser removal. When I got home and looked, there was a lot of blood and I was in more pain than my previous sessions. Usually they are very good at explaining everything, aftercare etc.
I was treated very poorly by the reception staff as another customer they knew very well came in at the same time. I literally felt like I had the iPad thrown at me. No words then I was asked to go upstairs no real directions and told that the beautician was waiting for me. I knocked on the door and she came out as I was halfway down the stairs again shouted hello and then just went back in and shut the door. I went back up and knocked again, no reply. On my way back down, I met the receptionist I said I was confused and she said no, it’s the next flight up and then left me to it.. I’ve got a course so I need to go back really don’t want to.
