Clean modern practice, staff are helpful and friendly, dentist i have is super gentle and is great at eaaing anxious patients

I was sent here as a 111 patient after a terrible experience at a different dental practice when they tried and failed to remove my tooth and left me in lots of pain with a snapped tooth. The reception staff were lovely and so was the dentist and the dental nurse I seen here. I have left having my tooth removed and toothache gone. I was very anxious due to my previous experience a week prior at the other surgery and I explained that to the dentist I seen at Silver & Charlton the dentist and dental nurse were amazing throughout my whole treatment, kept me calm, gave me lots of reassurance and talked me through the whole process. Had an emergency appt today and can say the 2 ladies both Sarah's were amazing, super friendly got my tooth out without fuss. I have had extractions before and they were the best by far. Thanks!

This dental practice is the best dental practice I've been to,its a big 10 out of 10,thats how good they are

Great dentist with very friendly staff would recommend to anyone but now im sad to say its gone private and left me looking for a new dentist which is hard to find for that reasons is why rating is low

The practice it's self is great but this new payment plan is shocking. I've signed up to the payment plan as a private patient and have been told I need to wait 5 months to get an appointment because I need to pay so much before I am seen. So I would recommend those needing appointment go elsewhere as this was not stated on the website or booklet.... (Show more)

UPDATE: I just called to get an appointment for my husband. They have stopped serving NHS patients. Nice of them to let their NHS patients know! I'm now frantically trying to find somewhere new. ************************** The reception staff are usually curt, often downright rude, and very unhelpful. If you need any sort of accommodation, forget it. If you have a wheelchair, be aware that the entryway is at the top of a rather steep ramp and is nearly impossible to get into as you have to turn left with no room to manoeuvre. My husband has to physically lift my chair to get it turned. The door is heavy and not automatic. There is then another door immediately inside that opens towards you and there isn't enough room for the wheelchair and the door, so you have to hope that someone inside notices and opens it for you. I then have to hold the door open with my bad arm to get in as my husband is behind me and can't reach it. Also, sometimes people chain their bikes up on the wheelchair ramp using the railings. Once in, it's fine, though you have to make sure they avoid booking you into the exam rooms down the hall as there is a step. Disabled access toilet is right off the reception.... (Show more)

If I could rate a 0 star review I would!! I contacted Silver & Charlton on the 29th September on several occasions, but just keep giving me the line busy tone.. so I then rang the Sunderland practice, I asked if I could go through them to make an emergancy appointment for the Full-well dentist for my partner, I was then explained to that there was a waiting list & that the next available appointment would be the 5th September (today).. at 13:30. So we arrived at the practice today at 13:25 my partner went in & was told by one of the receptionists that there was one person ahead of her, & then she would be seen… 1 hour later…. Still hadn’t been seen 2 hours later… still hadn’t been seen!!! (Everyone who walked through the door in between that time, was seen before her) At at 15:40 she was shouted for, so after 2 and a half hours nearly, she was finally seen by the dentist. A female dentist, who may I add had the most disgusting attitude, spoke to my partner like she was a child, kept poking and prodding her to move up. Kept asking her (with an attitude) to open her mouth wider.. and kept telling her to relax, which she already was.. but yet again with a stinking attitude, it’s not the first time my partner has seen her, this was the second time.. the first time, she also spoke with a bad attitude, now in my opinion, someone waiting that long to be seen, and then being greeted with a stinking attitude is not a good way to speak to your patients/customers!!! there’s no way will we ever be visiting that practice again.. for starters, it would have been nice for the female dentist to apologise for the ridiculously long wait. That was enough to make anyone feel uncomfortable instantly! I would avoid at all costs! I never leave bad reviews, but when my partner came out of the dentist at 15:50 she was mortified at the experience she had just had! Very friendly and kind staff! i had to book an ergency appointment and dentist was really careful and gentle with my issue, i am 1000% satisfied and i will also recommend this practice to my friends' circle.
