Ms Bernadette Oakes
Bernie, originally from Hertfordshire, trained as a remedial gymnast (sports rehabilitator) at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff; graduating in 1985. In the same year she did a conversion course in physiotherapy and was accepted into the chartered society of physiotherapy. Since then she also worked in Margate and Kent where she worked in orthopaedics. From there she moved to Colchester in Essex where she worked in orthopaedics, out patients, obstetrics, gynaecology and community physiotherapy. In 1989 she began to work at the Nuffield Private Hospital in Newcastle-under-Lyme, and then onto Leighton Hospital, working in outpatients. In 1990 she began her 10 year post as head Physiotherapist for Crewe Alexandra FC, leaving to start Sandbach Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Clinic in 2000. She is a member of the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists, as well as being a member of the Health Profession Council and the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists. She specialised in sports injuries (both adults and children), cervical headaches, acupuncture and all orthopaedic problems (especially lower limbs).

Ms Claire Harrington
Claire qualified in 1986 from the Royal Liverpool Hospital College School of Physiotherapy. Since qualifying she has worked in a number of NHS hospitals and GP practices located in Liverpool, the Midlands and more recently, Northwich and Sandbach. She has also spent 18 months working in Australia where she treated a variety of musculoskeletal disorders in the community setting. Claire joined the team in 2006 and worked on a part time basis while continuing to work in the NHS as a back care clinical specialist. She specialises in the management and treatment of chronic and acute spinal pain and has other interests in sarco-iliac problems and acupuncture for pain relief. Claire has worked locally for the last 14 years and has a young family.

Mr Will Stockdale
Will qualified with a degree in Sports Rehabilitation from Salford University in the summer of 2002. From there he went straight into work at Willaston Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Clinic, on the Wirral. Whilst working there he became aware of a position available to join Bernadette’s team at Sandbach Physiotherapy and Sports Injury Clinic, and began working for Bernadette in the Autumn of 2002. Until July 2007 Will continued to work alternate days at both clinics, but now works full-time for us in Sandbach. In November 2004 he qualified, through the grand-parenting process, as a Physiotherapist and became registered on the Health Professions register. He then subsequently became a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists and has subsequently completed his foundation course in acupuncture. Will specialises in sports injuries and rehabilitation, musculoskeletal, and pre/post operative lower limb problems. He is also about to undertake training for acupuncture. He is an active member within Sandbach RUFC where he still plays and is the first team coach.
This is a great physio clinic, lovely staff and convenient. When I am treated it is really beneficial. My last two appointments however have been given to me incorrectly over the phone meaning I have turned up to a date and time that was different to what was on their system. I have had planter fiscituis in my right foot for over 2 months, I have been to bernadette 3 times for treatment and it is starting to feel much better. I find she is very experienced and helpful and friendly I would definitely recommend Sandbach physiotherapy clinic.
It was great. Money well spent. Back considerably better, booked follow up appointment.
Being a return customer. And life being life I some how completely forgot I had an appointment. Then getting a phone call to tell me I had a missed appointment charge. First time I new anything about a charge for missing an appointment was the phone call. Think this is a valid point. Tell people there’s a charge for missing an appointment when they phone to make an appointment. I work in an industry that doesn’t charge anything if customers don’t make their appointment.... I injured my hamstring on new years day whilst running and Donal treated me over 5 sessions. I must say that Donal was fantastic the whole way through, he was so good at analysing the issue, very clear on the issue and great on treatment by concentrating on the exact area of issue plus the explanation on next steps were spot on and realistic. Finally, the exercises I were given to do were simple, clear and I only got a few to do and so were achievable. I cannot thank Donal enough for his excellent work. Chris moss... (Show more)
First Rate service in all aspects of their services. This is a well run, established operation. The staff are friendly and welcoming and excellent at their jobs. They can assess and treat / recommend treatment for your condition. I have used them a number of times over many years and have recommended them to my friends. Modestly pricey if you are paying yourself but you get a speedy appointment then excellent service.... (Show more)

I have been going to this clinic for many years and always had excellent treatment. Not only do they treat you but they suggest exercises to help reduce my amount of visits, which it has done. My only worry is that the clinic becomes so popular that I might struggle getting a appointment!!!
I have been treated on & off for about 18 years by the wonderful Physio's at Sandbach Physiotherapy. Unfortunately i have had a few ailments, starting with my Knee, then Back followed by my hip. Each and every time i have been helped back to fitness by Bernie, Claire & Will. It's their goal to not only get you up & active as soon as possible but also to give you a regime of suitable exercises for you to help yourself and limit the amount of treatment/expenditure in doing so. I have had first class treatment and care from Bernie since having bilateral knee replacements in Dec 2015. I have felt reassured by her expertise throughout each stage of my recovery. I would recommend the clinic to anyone.
I injured my shoulder two months before intending to do The Great North Swim and thought I would have to cancel. However after receiving excellent treatment and advice on rehab exercises I made it to the start line. The professional attitude and practical advice on how to slowly reintroduce the swimming without risking further injury was really appreciated. I can't recommend the team highly enough!... This is the best place for physiotherapy in Sandbach. All the staff are caring, knowledgeable and professional with a wealth of experience. They provide extremely effective treatment and I can highly recommend Bernie and her team. Bernie kept me mobile until I had time to go through hip replacement surgery, also making sure my post surgery recovery was speedy and complete. I'm so pleased I listened to her advice and agreed to surgery because I'm back to my former active self. Claire now looks after my neck problem with physio and acupuncture, ensuring I'm able to make the most of my new hips! I'm so glad to have such exceptional physios right on my doorstep.... I suffer from memieres disease vertigo and cluster migraine First visit staff very friendly, Bernie doing my treatment very informative what's happening to my body, had physio and acupuncture, feeling ok recommend to have 3 treatments so be interested to see results, overall a great start.
Price £40. Well spent to reassure my daughter all was well.
