Tom Farrell works in both the NHS and private sector providing gynaecology, pregnancy ultrasound and maternity care clinics in the Jessop Wing (NHS) and BMI Thornbury & Claremont Hospital (Private sector) in Sheffield. Tom graduated from Dundee University in 1991 and trained in Obstetrics & Gynaecology in Tayside in Scotland between 1992 and 2001 when he was appointed Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist and Honorary Senior Lecturer at the Jessop wing, Sheffield. During his training Tom spent time in South Africa gaining an understanding of third world obstetric practice before returning to Dundee to become Lecturer in Obstetrics & Gynaecology. In 1999 his was appointed senior Lecturer in Maternal Fetal Medicine at Auckland Hospital, New Zealand. During his training and post consultant appointment Tom has undergone many research projects leading to more than 30 peer reviewed publications. He was awarded his MD in 2005 from the University of Dundee for his thesis which examined ways of predicting fetal compromise during labour in low risk women. Several publications were produced from this important work. More recently Tom has focused on his interest in diabetes and maternal obesity in early pregnancy, as both these areas represent a significant risk for both the mother and unborn child. Tom’s obstetric interests include prenatal screening in early pregnancy and diagnosis of fetal abnormalities, inaddition to maternal diabetes and excess weight in pregnancy. He performs invasive prenatal diagnostic procedures including amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling (CVS). His gynaecology interests are varied but include management of menstrual disorders and pelvic / endometriosis using modern minimal access (key-hole) surgical techniques. Tom has currently a key role in training junior doctors in South Yorkshire. He is training programme director for the School of Obstetrics & Gynaecology in Yorkshire.

Paula Connor became a State Registered radiographer in 1984 and gained her Post Graduate Qualification as an Ultrasonographer in 1988 from the University of Salford. Paula had been performing ultrasound in the N.H.S. for 18 years to Superintendent level before becoming a Clinical Applications Specialist. She was actively involved in the training at Post Graduate level of Radiographers, Midwives and Doctors. With over 20 year’s experience, Paula possesses the professional expertise to provide you with a top quality ultrasound examination which will enable you to truly enjoy a unique and exciting bonding experience.

Ginette qualified as a Midwife in Wales in 1985 and after working in Bermuda for a short period she returned to the UK in 1989. She initially worked as a Midwife in the Ante-Natal Day Unit at Scunthorpe General Hospital. In 2000 she took a post-graduate certificate in Medical Ultrasound and practised as a Midwife Sonographer in Scunthorpe until 2003 when she moved to the Jessop Wing, Sheffield where she continues to work today.
