Dr Marea Brennan Thorns RN NIP MSc
Marea Brennan Thorns is an Advanced Nurse Practitioner and co-founder of the MBNS Clinic and Qutis Clinics. Marea originally studied art but after qualifying, changed direction and moved immediately into nurse training. After becoming a registered nurse in 1976, Marea completed a post registration qualification in intensive and coronary care nursing. Armed with this, Marea secured a position as a senior sister and moved to Holland where she specialised in Cardiac Surgery ITU Nursing at the University Hospital of Utrecht for 4 years. On returning to England Marea found the NHS culture quite different to that in Holland and embarked on a new career in pharmaceutical and medical devices companies. After 12 years and several jobs Marea felt the pull to move back into nursing in independent practice. In 1996, Marea worked as a peripatetic aesthetic nurse before co-founding Medico Beauty Nurse Services (MBNS) in 1999 with fellow business partner and nurse practitioner, Stephanie Green. During 2001-2004 Marea chaired the Royal College of Nursing’s forum for nurses working in aesthetic medicine and was a member of the steering group responsible for the development and publication of Aesthetic Nursing Competencies, now available from the RCN. She has been instrumental in developing advanced soft tissue augmentation injection techniques for lip enhancement, as well as optimal correction of facial lines and facial sculpting. More recently, she has been involved with injection technique training courses, for cosmetic use of [Treatment name removed] Treatments and volumetric lifting of the face. She is a frequent speaker at national professional conferences and seminars. Marea was a member of the Allergan faculty of VISTABEL® validators. In June 2007 Marea completed an advanced nurse qualification as an Independent Nurse Prescriber at Oxford Brookes University. Marea has continued to study at Oxford Brookes University and has recently gained a Master of Science Degree (MSc). Her research dissertation was titled “The transition process from NHS to private practice for nurses working in aesthetic medicine and the experience of mentorship”. Quite appropriate given her experience!
Dr Adrian Baker RN NIP
Adrian joins us from the NHS where he worked for three years as a community staff nurse. Prior to nursing Adrian came from a performing arts background, and had various theatre roles, he even worked as a Karaoke Host on a Caribbean Liner! He originally met MBNS specialist nurse when she was teaching on a course he attended. After basic training Adrian was inspired to follow in Paula’s footsteps and apply to work with us at MBNS. His long-term objective is to become a Qutis Franchisee (modelled on MBNS). From August 2011 onwards, he will be working at MBNS on Fridays & Saturdays. Adrian’s new job title is Nurse Aesthetician and he will be specialising in the Light, Heat and Energy Therapies ( and, & Cosmetic Teeth Whitening).
Over priced they dont offer anything any different than other places Dont waste your money it doesnt last 5 mins
Best results so far! This is my 3rd coolsculpting appointment and I must say the staff never cease to amaze me with their professionalism and ability. I had Helena do my double treatment and she really made me feel calm and well looked after. Angela did a great consultant to target the pocketed fat cells which I wanted gone on my abs. Helena is always friendly and professional. She gives advise with any skin concerns and products. The Hydrafacial treatment that she provides is amazing and really makes my skin feel good. I've had such a lovley experience at qutis clinic. All the staff are so friendly and helpful. I am so impressed with the treatments I've had. I can't look in the mirror without smiling. Such a wonderful experience i will definitely be returning to them.

I attended Qutis Herts clinic recently with my mother, for a HydraFacial. My mother's facial was a specialised HydraFacial, adapted for her medical needs. I can honestly say my skin has never felt so good, smooth and had that special glow. My mum has had cancer for many years and has never had a facial, she absolutely loved it and it was so lovely to be pampered by the amazing staff at Qutis. Wonderful clinic with lovely private location and very friendly staff. From the initial consultation to the treatment, everything was handled in an extremely professional way. The treatments were explained very well and the treatment itself was exceptional. Would definitely recommend to others.

I had a treatment done today at the clinic in hemel Hempstead with Angela. I have received a five star treatment from Angela, she was really professional and helpful with answering all my questions regarding treatments. I have no comparison to any other clinics but the service i received as a first timer with Qutis was fantastic. Very welcoming and very thorough.
Booked in for Cool Sculpting and Angela (Registered Nurse Consultant) made the whole process clear, painfree and positive. After 12 weeks the results are dramatic. I have been to various places to have Botox and fillers, including top clinics in London but by far I have never experienced anything like Qutis. Maria was amazing, after an in depth consultation, Maria tailored a plan fit for my expectations, the result ? I cannot be happier, I felt no pain at all to start with, Maria made me feel comfortable through out, I hardly noticed she was injecting me, her attention to detail is incredible. My face changed in an instant, looked fresher and younger but not obvious or exaggerated. I look forward for my second part of my liquid face lift. The place is immaculate and clean, Maria follows strict guidelines, I will never look back on this or look elsewhere, this is the place I will be trusting from now on, in good hands, after care is outstanding too, Maria gave me her personal number for reassurance.
