Playa Smile

Really frustrating experience with this clinic I booked ahead and asked multiple times if they would be able to complete the work I needed during the duration of my stay. They assured me they would be able to. Went in for what I thought would be the only appointment turned out to only be a consultation. Okay so I asked when they would be able to get me in to do the actual dental work needed. They booked me in the morning before I left to go back home. Once I got there they told me they only had time to do one of the fillings which was only a fraction of what I needed done. Had I know originally that they wouldn’t have time I could of booked at a different clinic instead I wasted hours going to and from the clinic and planning around these appointments just to not have anything done at all.... My name is Ottavio, I live back in Toronto, Canada. I had many bad experiences back home with dentists. The many that I have seen were nothing but rip off artists. They would make up anything such as telling you that you have cavities which in fact you Don't have any. This is all just to take advantage of insurance and deplete it. And even if you don't, they will do the same, just taking advantage of people, all for money and nothing else. I was one of those unlucky patients which a dentist completely took advantage of this and in the end of it all, I ended up needing 4 implants because of his greed and stupidity, in the end i sued him and made sure that this would never happen to another individual. I did my research on line and found a clinic in Mexico called Smile make Over. My family and friends thought I was crazy to go to Mexico and do this procedure. I can only say from the bottom of my heart that Smile Make Over has by far the best Dental facility that I have ever seen, they are so professional and have the most advanced state of the art facility. The staff is so friendly and the dentists are so professional, they will tell you in detail of what needs to be done, not like other clinics that I have been to and just make up stories in order to just make money. This is now my 3rd. Time that I have been to Smile Make Over and can honestly say, they are like family. The best part is that they pick you up at the Airport, drop you off at your hotel, and will bring you to all your appointments. The other most important part, it's half of the price anywhere else back home. This is why there are so many people from around the world that i have met and specifically come to Smile make over. I truly want to thank the whole entire Staff for being so kind and honest for everything that they have done for me. If there was a rating of not 5 * but 100* that's what I would give this Clinic. I had the best experience with Smile Makeover Playa Del Carmen. We’re from Missouri, US. I had a full smile makeover done, ten top teeth and ten bottom, using crowns. The work was extensive, requiring 5 root canals, laser treatment of my gum lines, and filing down 20 teeth. Two separate trips, each a week long. I left with beautiful temporaries after the first trip, and amazing permanent crowns after the second. I had several specialists working each step, and the facility is state of the art. Not to mention, the best customer service. If you’re looking into dental tourism, look no further. I spent years trying to find the best solution in the states, and having the same work done at home would have cost $80,000. We spent just under $15,000 total for all the dental work. Plus, we got two beach resort vacations out of it! If you’re going to have extensive dental work done, the best place to do it is in paradise at an all-inclusive resort!... (Show more)

The Smile Makeover team as a whole was very professional and accommodating, whether it be transportation needs or my travel schedule, as I live out of the country. Before and after smile photos. I finally have all my teeth fixed. it has taken almost 10 years to repair and remove some teeth enough that braces could be attached to realign my teeth so more than the 4 teeth that only made contact after my shattered mandible and maxilla healed after a plane crash, and doesn't hurt so bad when I eat. The last 2 implant abutments and crowns were placed last month by SmileMakeover. Playa del Carmen was a nice place to get it done.... (Show more)

Wonderful service, great team, and there was no unnecessary upselling of services, which was a relief. Their consistently supportive drivers provided comfort in shuttling back and forth between our resort in Generations Riviera Maya and their office in Playacar! Can’t wait to return to finish my implant. Ultimately this experience makes my previous dental surgeon in the US look quite poor in comparison.... (Show more)

Great service, all around!!! Thanks to all involved! Believe me…It’s worth it, and you get a a couple of trips to the Caribbean, at the least. I had very little discomfort or pain throughout, and the outcome was fantastic!!!

Wonderful experience! Dr. Alejandra is a true artist. I would highly recommend to get a million dollar smile. The team is amazing!!!!

They forgot my 1/2 at surgery. I had to wait five hours but no painkillers for the anesthesiologist to come back to go back in surgery. They don’t take responsibility for anything. Secrectary Jovana is rude and unorganized. They over book. Chauffeurs are over an hour late. It’s like a cattle call!

The people working at Smile MakeOver in Playa are very skilled & did a wonderful job on myself and my wife. I would highly recommend them.

Hello! I am writing this review as the person who set up and coordinated all the dental work to be done for both my boyfriend (who got implants and all-on-4) and my brother (who got 16 crowns). I will start from the beginning! SmileMakeOver was quick to respond with treatment plan options through messaging. Our first visit to Playa was to check out the office, and we were blown away- it is nicer than any US dentist we have been to. Super hygenic and ultra modern technology. Everything there is ran in sync. There are friendly drivers to take you to your appointment, Rose is a wonderful front desk coordinator, Jovana is the engine behind the operations, she so kind and so knowledgeable- she has all the answers! and willing to work with you on cost, these front end people are the same you see every single time, so they are always up to date on your specific case. Dr Claudia who handles the surgical side was able to perfectly install implants for my boyfriend, she does amazing work. And I've saved the best for last! Dr Alejandra is an absolute GODDESS. I've never seen someone so good at their job. I spent many many hours in the room watching her work, and it was mind-blowing at how skilled she is. Honestly. She is out there changing lives by the day. The best attitude, willing to take the extra time to perfect it just the way you want it. I feel like my words don't even do it justice for how great she is! And how well run the entire operation is. Highly impressed. Due to the extensive amount of work we did with them, they helped us with airport rides and accommodations at A1 Suites as well. Janet made our stay there so memorable. She is an angel of sorts! Overall amazing experience and the guys in my life saved tens of thousands of dollars compared to what this work would've cost here in the US.... (Show more)
