Optical Express - York - Parliament Street

Booked a "free" eye test online and was quite surprised when I had to pay £30 afterwards. The staff was super friendly and thorough in their assessment, though.

Should have and basically did end up going to Specsavers. Took a 10 year old there today. Absolutely appalling service. Sarah, asked me if we were alright and clearly couldn’t be bothered to get up from her seat. She then abruptly told us that the kids range was on the other side of the shop and that the women’s glasses would be far too big. Spent 10 mins looking through a limited range while being ignored by all staff - All with faces with faces like they didn’t want to be there. Go to Specsavers, we were warmly greeted and expertly cared for by Rachel and colleagues, and ended up with perfect fitting women’s glasses for our girl.... (Show more)

I can honestly say every time I visit your York Branch I get a First Class Service This is down to the Branch Manager Judith & Her Team.

Very good all round. I’m not normally bothered about uniforms but in a place you want to associate with cleanliness and order, that the reception staff member looked quite shoddily dressed initially put me off. Optician was great. Bit of a hard sell with the eye care product but it actually seems fairly worthwhile.... (Show more)

Was helped by Emma today in store with an eye test and she made it so so easy and also ended up saving me money by doing a deal with two glasses which works out much better for me. Staff were all very considerate and helpful and although there was an issue with I think an online calculator they still remained professional and eager to help despite this as it could’ve easily got in the way or been an annoyance for them.... I popped into the York store after sitting on my Oakley prescription sunglasses and both arms came off. The very helpful assistant took them away and brought them back fixed two minutes later. She had also cleaned them for me. No charge. Brilliant Service and one of the reason I buy all my glasses from them.... (Show more)
