Wow! I had a fractured tooth that I thought was going to be ok for a vacation to Portugal. I was wrong. I showed up to the clinic at 0905 with no appointment. the staff was nice, but told me I wouldn't be seen until 1115. As my hotel was a bit of a hike, I asked if i could just hang out in their waiting room and was told that was fine. At 1015, the Dentist came out and got me. I explained the situation and it was decided that the tooth needed to come out. By 1055 I was out the door with one less tooth. If that was the end of the story, it would be great. What's more important is the dentist, in addition to being very kind was also the best dentist I have ever been to. Doctora Filipa has a hand that is smooth like butter. I'm a nurse, and I wish I could be that smooth with injections. The extraction went well and I had very little pain after, which was managed by an nsaid. The last thing to say is the cost was very reasonable (particularly compared to USA standards) and the clinic was spotless (like I said, I'm a nurse, and I know clean). I'm nearly considering taking the time off work to fly back over for the implant. Obrigada Doctora!... (Show more)
I recommend! Excellent service, qualified and attentive professionals.
While the doctor was very helpful and professional, the receptionists seem surly, unwilling to clarify things and struggle with English. Another star deducted as they've added my mobile number to their marketing database without permission.
Unfortunately, I can't say my experience with the clinic was good. - Although they said on the phone the first appointment was free, they did charge it and said the fee would be discounted from future sessions. So, basically, you need to continue with them to benefit from the "discount". - They do work with Medis, but not with Medis Dental. This bit wasn't clear to me from the beginning, but worth taking into account. - On the first consultation, the doctor was pretty helpful and explained the problem to me (an old repair of a tooth). We agreed that I'd continue a treatment with his colleague. - On the second consultation, his colleague mentioned the problem were my wisdom teeth instead and that I would need to see a surgeon instead. In the meantime, he made a small repair of another tooth and dental cleaning. - 150 eur later, I was still unsure on what the problem was, so I decided to go to another clinic for a second opinion. So I asked for the x-rays they took by email, which they never responded. - They also made an invoice without my tax number, which was in my medical record. I also asked for an amendment on this, and I'm still awaiting a response. So, all in all, despite the professionals probably being fine, the overall experience was very upsetting. I never had this kind of experience before, so I think it's worth flagging to potential clients.... (Show more)
I broke a tooth two days before a work trip and went to Dentismed to schedule an emergency appointment. Over the phone, they explained that I would not need to pay for the consultation if I underwent the treatment. Arriving at the clinic I was seen by a dentist who from the beginning was extremely indiscreet. He made unpleasant comments in a joking tone like: “Ihhhh this is really bad”. I looked at my teeth and said “Ihhhh” (among other tasteless comments). I asked him to stop, because the situation was making me even more distressed. A healthcare professional should convey positivity and security - saying: “don’t worry, everything will be fine” or “let’s look for the best alternative to help you”. I was already very sad about the situation, it only increased my discomfort and concern. The comments were disrespectful and in very bad taste. They create embarrassment in the patient who is already sensitized. And even though I asked him to stop, he continued with the same attitude. Finally he says that he would need to create a channel and it wouldn't be possible to solve that in one session. That I couldn't start treatment knowing I was going to travel. He also said that he couldn't do the treatment during the trip because it wouldn't be enough time. Worried, I asked several times if there might be another solution. However, according to him, there was no other solution: I would have to have a broken tooth for the next 15 days (duration of the trip), with the risk of infection, pain, as well as being aesthetically embarrassing. I was visibly shaken, I started crying and he was always mocking and insensitive. I politely expressed my discomfort with that stance and he left the room without even apologizing. Back at reception, the receptionists suggested making an appointment for when you returned from your trip. I said I wouldn't have treatment there because the dentist had been extremely unpleasant. They explained to me that this was not the dentist who would perform the procedure, as it is not his specialty (In other words, that assertive “diagnosis” did not come from a specialist). I was leaving and trying to convince myself, they suggested that I go and meet the dentist who performs the treatment. Given the urgency of the situation, I accepted. I went to the other dentist's office, explained the situation and she, contradicting her colleague, said it could be resolved in one session. However, nothing was explained very well. I didn't understand what type of treatment she was undergoing, whether it was resin or crown, she didn't explain the necessary care to me, she didn't talk about durability, the need for maintenance, the information was very nebulous... Given the urgency of the situation, I scheduled treatment anyway. However, I was informed that there was only an appointment for the following day and therefore I could not deduct the amount paid for the consultation, as the procedure would not be carried out on the same day. In other words, the clinic says that it deducts the cost of the consultation, but does not explain that it has to be on the same day and that it also does not have a time in the calendar to meet on the same day. It makes no sense. To avoid further stress, I didn't argue, but I saw that I'm not the first to complain about the lack of transparency in the clinic's billing policy. During the treatment everything went well. I felt no pain and the dentist was very gentle and attentive. However, the aesthetic result was not good. The treatment was not cheap at all, in total I paid 370 euros. In the end, the dentist who gave a wrong diagnosis was disrespectful, rude and unprofessional. The pros were unclear. They should make fewer superfluous, subjective and personal comments and focus on providing more constructive and practical information that helps the patient feel safe and well guided. When it comes to health, it is necessary to take into account the human element and worry about making the patient feel calm and respected. No one wants the professional to make fun of the condition of their teeth. It's humiliating.... (Show more)
On the 12th of last month I called the clinic to ask for an emergency visit. They scheduled a visit with Doctor André for the same afternoon... It was, to say the least, useless. He told me that what I had was inflammation and that I should practice better oral hygiene (very skeptical all the time with the information I gave him about my hygiene and visits to the dentist). When I had already left the appointment, my mother (who had gone with me) told me to go back and insist with him, as my idea was that I had an infection (the pain I felt was not strange to me and the other times I had this pain was due to infection). At my mother's insistence, I went back and told the doctor what I thought, his response was "the diagnosis I gave you is the correct one". I did everything he asked me to do and more, I started brushing my teeth 6 times a day, thoroughly and with the products he told me to use. A week later I was in Spain, on vacation, unable to eat and had to go to the emergency room, where they gave me antibiotics, as I had an infection. The doctor should know that he may have knowledge, but a person knows his own body better than anyone else, and he should listen to what people have to say and forget about his arrogance. And to the clinic: if I didn't go because of a complaint, it's because I don't want to set foot there again, but that doesn't mean they don't deserve it.... (Show more)
I do not recommend. Lack of ethics and professionalism!
I went to remove a tooth that was infected and was treated quickly and painlessly! It was one of the best experiences at a dentist I've ever had. Furthermore, the price was much lower than I expected. Definitely recommend 😊 …
Have been a regular patient at the clinic and very happy with the results. Professional, respectful of time, premium locations and great results. Best oral care clinic in town. Highly recommend!
Very good team, professional, trustworthy and very friendly! They were very attentive from the beginning of the process to the end. Without a doubt, a clinic of excellence.
The best clinic in the city of Lisbon
I went to the clinic to have the invisible aligners fitted and I confess that my expectations were far exceeded. The first appointment was quickly scheduled respecting my availability, the staff was always impeccable and very professional and the fact that they always confirmed appointments the day before and offered to readjust the schedule due to any recent unavailability is commendable. Without a doubt, a clinic to recommend.... (Show more)
