Laparoscopic Ovarian Cystectomy I was treated in St George's hospital, it was my first visit to the hospital ever for the surgery. It went excellently. The operation team were extremely professional and dealt with all my requests, recovery after the surgery was very quick I felt very good and alert the very next day. I would definitely recommend Hugh and his team to every woman who has gynaecological problems as sometimes to go through the surgery might be emotionally difficult. The hospital is not the nicest place to be, but I was very impressed with the whole experience.... (Show more)

Re: Mr Hugh Byrne, Consultant Gynaecologist, The Lister Hospital & The Chelsea Clinic (Chelsea Outpatient Centre) I found Mr Byrne to be both an excellent surgeon and an exceptionally good consultant: a rare combination! The operation went very well -- perfectly, in fact; and I am now enjoying a better quality of life, thanks to his surgical skills. As a consultant, I found him to be caring and compassionate, informative, and easy to talk to: qualities shared by his Practice Manager at the Lister Hospital, Ms Valerie Hassan. I am very grateful to them both for their unstinting support before, during and after my operation. Gail (Post-menopausal) - August 2014... (Show more)

The surgery went very well - quite excellent really. I had a NHS referral, to St Georges from my Hackney. The referral process from appointment to surgery was very quick (one month). Mr Byrne was very friendly and reassuring. The ward staff were able to assist me once I was discharged and kept in contact with me by phoning to make sure that everything was fine. My follow up appointment went very well. I would definitely recommend Mr Byrne to anyone have a Gynaecological procedure. I have just today recommended my cousin to be referred to his clinic.... My undergraduate training as a doctor was in Dublin and my specialist training as an obstetrician and gynaecologist took place in major London Hospitals including the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and Queen Charlotte’s. My laparoscopic surgical skills were gained at St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington. I also undertook a fellowship in further laparoscopic surgery in Strasbourg, France and my research into endometriosis was carried out at St Bartholomew’s Hospital in London.
