Dr Ly Mar
Graduated with a Degree in General Dentistry from the Faculté de Médecine Dentaire (Faculty of Dental Medicine) at the Université de Montréal in 1999. He obtained a Master’s Degree in Dental Sciences and a postgraduate Certificate in Orthodontics at the University of Montréal in 2004. Immediately following his convocation, Dr. Mar was awarded a Fellowship from the College of Dentists of Canada in the specialty of Orthodontics and Dental Facial Orthopedics. Dr. Mar moved to Edmonton in 2004 to take over his newly acquired orthodontic practice in St. Albert. He is celebrating the tenth anniversary of Mar Orthodontics this year. Dr. Mar is fluent in English, French and Chinese (Mandarin & Cantonese).
Dr Manuel Lagravère
He is an Associate Orthodontist at Mar Orthodontics. He has been working at Mar Orthodontics since the fall of 2009 and is a valuable member of the Mar Orthodontics team. After graduating with a Masters of Science, Dr. Lagravère moved to Edmonton to pursue his PhD in Orthodontics at the University of Alberta, which he completed in 2009. Immediately following his convocation, Dr. Lagravère was awarded a Fellowship from the College of Dentists of Canada in the specialty of Orthodontics and Dental Facial Orthopedics. Dr. Lagravère is fluent in Spanish.
My first experience in their facility was amazing! So polite and nice. Made you feel right at home .We came up with what I thought was a clear game plan. However, that quickly changed. I received a letter in the mail for an Ortho Surgeon for jaw bone surgery. Which I had very adamantly said I did not want. So they went ahead and did that, even though I told them not to. A few weeks later my dentist requested my files from Mar to get our whole process started. I spoke with someone at Mar and they confirmed that they received the request and would process it. 3 weeks later I show up at my dentist and they have received nothing. I call Mar the next day and they decide to have me come in and speak with Dr.Mar again to make sure we're on the same page. I rearranged my schedule and child care yet again, to get a call from them the day of. Saying that Dr.Mar doesn't do consultations appointments on that day that they needed to rwschresch it for the following week. That is when I told them I had had enough and that I would be finding a new Orthodontist.... (Show more)
I’m very impressed with results and service that I received at Mar Orthodontics. I didn’t think that at my age that I could have such beautiful teeth! Thanks to Dr. Mar’s expertise and hands on approach he made my smile amazing. I had the Lingual (Hidden) Braces people didn’t even know that I had them. I only told my close friends and they noticed the changes in my teeth, and how quickly it happened. The staff is excellent at what they do and more that willing to answer any questions that you may have. I mostly had Marie and Kayla who both were friendly and polite and really know their jobs. It was really convenient for me to have my appointments at the Sherwood Park location as I live on the very south side of Edmonton. Thank you so much, it was the best decision I ever made!
