I had otoplasty performed by the surgeon Olga Vladimirovna Zhigunova. Initially, the doctor was late (although we agreed on a certain time a month in advance), I am from another city. Well, I thought “we are all human, the traffic jams in Kyiv are terrible,” although I had not drunk or eaten for a long time and really wanted to get a drink quickly. Subsequently, without any consultation, they allowed me to sign papers stating that I would not have any complaints and there were many more questions about the contract, but most of all I was outraged by this clause. When I asked what kind of column this administrator was, she was clearly unhappy and I could feel the sidelong glances of other employees. Subsequently, we had a consultation with the doctor and took me into the room. After I changed, I was invited to the operating room, where they took pictures and I was informed about everything by the anesthesiologist (a very nice girl) and I was very pleased with her work (there was sedation). After the operation everything was fine. The next day, blood flowed heavily from one ear and for 2 days, which was impossible to stop. I saw recommendations on the type of antibiotics and hemostatic agents (I won’t attach a photo, it’s not a pleasant picture). To which the advice was not to touch and take pills. Considering that there were huge blood clots in my hair that had to be pulled out and a lot of cotton wool and bandages that became completely wet with blood in less than 2 hours. And initially it was discussed that we would do the operation with a laser so that it would heal faster, but we decided to cut with a scalpel. I walked for 2 weeks with stitches as needed. On the day the stitches were removed (I had it removed from another surgeon, because in another city), I called the doctor, they didn’t answer my call and didn’t even call me back. I wanted to clarify which threads need to be removed; one thread is sticking out because of which the ear has not healed completely. I removed the surface stitches, but did not touch that thread, I thought that the threads would dissolve on their own. 2 months have passed since the operation and my ears still hurt quite a lot (I can hardly lie on my side). I recently wrote to the doctor and said that the stitches and thread were clearly not cosmetic. She received an answer that she should cut the thread herself or go to the doctor and have it cut there (although this is her mistake and the conversation can be conducted differently) and did not explain what could entail cutting the thread that holds the ear, but with stitches it’s normal. I understand that I didn’t pay very much money (20,000+5,000 sedation), but for the sake of decency you can pick up the phone or ask what and how. Unless the ears stick out.
