Amazing English service. Explained the process and what was required in great detail.
In the misfortune of having toothache when on holiday in a country very far from mine, I was lucky enough to find this clinic. I would like to share my positive review regarding this property. From the moment I set foot in the clinic, I was greeted by friendly and attentive staff who helped create a welcoming atmosphere. All the staff speak perfect English. They made me feel at ease straight away, listening to my concerns and answering all my questions in a clear and professional manner. The doctor who attended to me was exceptional. In addition to being highly qualified in his work, he proved to be a nice and friendly person. He took the time to explain the treatment to me and suggested the best options based on my needs. I particularly appreciated his ability to put me at ease during the procedures, minimizing the discomfort I usually feel when going to the dentist. I highly recommend this dental clinic to anyone who needs dental care in Osaka. The staff is extremely kind and the doctor is highly professional and pleasant. Competitive prices make this clinic an excellent option for those looking for quality care.... (Show more)
Very good service overall. The doctor spoke good english and was really skilled and friendly.
I hadn’t been to the dentist in a while mostly due to nerves about speaking Japanese. However, I was pleasantly surprised. The reception was very friendly and calm and I instantly felt relaxed. My check up was calm, quick, well explained and well organized. Even though there were some small issues with my dental health, these were explained simply and calmly and I didn’t feel panicked or confused because of this. The dental cleaning was thorough and explained throughout. I felt that all the staff had the same calm and gentle personality. I would recommend it to anyone not able to speak Japanese very well or anyone who is nervous about the dentist. 😊... (Show more)
Emergency chipped tooth whilst holidaying in Osaka. Dr Kono was very reassuring and explained his management plan and assessment results clearly in English. He also recommended I make an appointment with my regular dentist on return to review my other teeth. His reception staff were all very friendly. My tooth looks as good as new. Thank you team!... I went there for a while, I thought I had a tooth that was looked at by a dentist, but this dentist confirmed that it wasn't! I was told that, so I stayed as I was, but it was still getting darker and darker, and I felt like it was a cavity, so I went back, but after looking at the X-rays taken over half a year ago, I was assured that it wasn't a cavity... However, after a week, the tooth was completely chipped and even to an untrained eye, it clearly looked like a cavity, so I went to another clinic and found that it was a large cavity. It's progressed to the point where my nerves are at their wits' end, I was shocked because I thought that if I had come to the hospital at the beginning, it wouldn't have gotten this big. The tooth that was treated here a long time ago has been in pain ever since the treatment, and no matter how many times I told them, I was told that it just looked like gingivitis. When I took the tooth to another hospital, I was told that the nerve might be dead. It was pointed out. . shock. I chose this because I think it's not good to simply shave your teeth, and my motto is to avoid scraping your teeth as much as possible. If I was going to let it go to the point where I eventually lost my nerves, I should have treated it in the first place. Of course, cavities are your own responsibility. I feel like I lost two teeth because I chose this dentist, because if I had taken appropriate treatment at the early stages of the symptoms, I might have been able to avoid losing my nerves. Also, they only watch for about 5 to 10 minutes at a time. The treatment was done in very small portions, and even when I went to the doctor to see if I might have a cavity, I was told that nothing was found and was returned pointlessly, and it was strange that I was charged a fee for the initial consultation each time. If you choose this hospital, I think you should definitely get a second opinion. .... (Show more)
Wonderful dental clinic! We had the spa cleaning service and was able to communicate in English. Visa credit card was accepted as well. Bonus points for the great care they provided to our 1 year old that was with us.
If you are looking for an English-speaking dentist in Osaka, this is the place.
The receptionists are very racist and mocked me while I had a panic attack. Dentist has always been nice. I recommend they hire new receptionists that are friendlier.
kind and polite
I have visited this dental clinic multiple times. The dentist can speak English really well. Based on my experience, customer service is really good.
I went this morning for a cleaning and it was a really nice experience. The staff and the dentists were really kind and helpful. They speak english so it was easier, I could get exactly what I wanted. I didn't wait and it didn't hurt. My teeth are clean and smooth! I highly recommend
About 12 years ago, I was leaving the Kansai region where I was born and raised when I got married, so Kono Dental was the dentist I chose to give up on living without my front teeth for many years. The director took care of me, and when I told him that I was leaving Kansai for marriage and about my front teeth, he happily accepted my request with a smile and said, ``Let's get it clean (lol).'' (The director was very funny and I even started looking forward to the treatment.) Since the time for my transfer was pressing, I talked with the staff and they made an appointment and treated me as much as possible. It cost me a bit of money because it was my front tooth, but I was able to get rid of my long life without a front tooth. Thank you very much for that time. P.S. Even after more than ten years, I still use my front teeth.... (Show more)
A very bad experience! I went to have a small resin repaired in the corner of a front tooth since it had come out and without my authorization he polished my entire tooth and put a temporary crown on me that is not even close to the color of my teeth!! He ruined my entire tooth instead of simply replacing the resin I needed. And the worst thing is that he did not ask me if I agreed with the very invasive treatment that he finally performed on me!!! And I showed him photos of how I had it before and I explained to him with the translator what had happened to me. The dentist responded that he had understood, he gave me anesthesia so I didn't realize that he was wearing down my ENTIRE TOOTH and then placed a temporary crown on me. In my country the same thing had already happened to me before and my dentist had simply replaced the resin while preserving my tooth!! I still can't believe how daring he was to do what he did and without consulting me... I will have to start treatment when I arrive in my country for a small corner of a broken tooth.... (Show more)
I’ve had generally good experiences at this clinic. The doctor and dental hygienist speak English. I feel, however, that this would be a good place to get cleaning or small cavities done. Anything more serious (like larger cavities), I’d go elsewhere. I definitely saved hundreds of dollars, getting a second opinion and dental work done elsewhere. I also find it strange that I can’t use credit card when covered under insurance (at my new clinic, I can use card whenever).... (Show more)
I had a very good experience at Kono Dental Clinic. Fast reply to my appointment request, the dentist and the staff are very kind and explain everything carefully before the intervention. It's a relieve to have dentists who can speak english when you can't speak enough japanese for teeth intervention. I 100% recommend Kono Dental Clinic !... (Show more)
You will be treated very carefully.
Even though I asked for tartar removal and a checkup, she enthusiastically offered me whitening, which was not covered by insurance, and I found it hard to refuse, so I never went again. What's more, the reservation for the tartar removal was forgotten, and I was only examined by the dentist and not even touched by the hygienist. It may not be possible to make money with insurance treatment, but it's not a beauty salon, so I wish they would stop soliciting me.... (Show more)
I called the morning after having a bike accident and told them on the phone that I believed my tooth was cracked. I said the same to the dentist at my appointment. I had nerve pain and when touching the tooth, the back moved but the front stayed still. The dentist looked at it very quickly, gave it a couple of light taps and said "it looks fine to me," then explained that normally they would do an xray for that kind of thing but that their xray machine was being serviced so it wasn't possible (if that had been explained to me when I was making the appointment I would have gone elsewhere). He repeated that it looked fine, gave me some painkillers and I was charged about 2000円 for a five minute chat and some aspirin. I went to a different dentist the following day who confirmed that the tooth was definitely cracked and I'm now at the point of potentially needing a bridge or an implant to replace that tooth. I'm not sure if the dentist was just avoiding diagnosis without an xray (while still being happy to charge me) but I'm shocked at how bad this experience was compared to the great experience I'd had at Kono in the past. My other dentist told me that if I had waited for my next appointment at Kono (two weeks away) my tooth would have gotten much worse. I had a great experience at Kono Dental the first time I went there for a cleaning/check up. The staff were professional and spoke great English. I recommended it to a number of people afterwards because it was better than the experiences I'd had at most places in Australia. However, I was incredibly disappointed with this experience. Good for a check up but I can't recommend it at all for actual dental work.... (Show more)
Amazing experience. My first time to visit a dentist in Japan, but out of the 3 other countries I've had work done, this was my best experience. Almost all my searches for an English speaking dentist in Japan showed Kono. Like most things in Japan, very punctual, clean and friendly. Yoko did a great job cleaning my teeth, talked with me the entire time and did a few things I've never experienced before like a gum massage that was really nice. My teeth are whiter than they have been for a long time after just getting a cleaning. Staff spoke good English. Can't recommend enough.... (Show more)
