The surgery went well, but the waiting times are a disaster. The least I waited for any consultation - before the surgery or after - is 1 hour after the scheduled time. I'm now in the waiting room for 1.5h for one of the follow up consultations.

Ms. Prof. Dr. Maya Müller impresses with her high level of professional expertise and calm human nature. I am so grateful that I had an operation by her years ago and that I have been looked after so carefully ever since (glaucoma). I can see better without glasses today than I did 30 years ago! I have friends and family members with some serious eye problems turn to Prof. Dr. Müller passed on. Everyone is thrilled with her.... (Show more)

Team: In short, my feelings...for...almost...the entire back office: unprofessional, unfriendly, presumptuous! Explanation: When I called for a first appointment with a transfer, everything went wrong. I was told they didn't get a transfer...WRONG... I was told they had never read my name before...WRONG... For the second appointment after the doctor's visit, I was told Dr. Müller is at a congress ..INCORRECT.. -I went to see another doctor at IROC for a special examination: She cheerfully announced to the waiting room: “I’ve decided, today we’ll do ladies first.” So it was blatantly said for me as a man, my appointment was pushed back a whole hour, 2 women with appointments after me were brought forward. Despite intervention! -Registration for my operation, WRONG form, was for another gentleman. -Invoices were chaotic, some came three times, some came twice, some had the WRONG AHV number. -Transfer from IROC to University Hospital: not complete, meaning that crucial reports were missing. -The operation date could have been spontaneously postponed to the next day. For the post-operative family doctor examination… IROC said on the phone that I should do this examination at the train station. When asked WHERE... I just have to look. I said no, then she said: then let it be! Surgical team: The surgical team was very friendly, very professional. I was well looked after. There was a patient sitting in the waiting room for her operation who was assigned INCORRECTLY, she had to wait over an hour. The practice manager tried very hard to apologize and correct any mistakes. You could feel that their apologies were genuine! Now after several months I have to have an eye operation AGAIN (of course in another eye clinic) because the retina is completely detached and I am even threatened with total loss of vision!!!. Personally, I…NEVER AGAIN IROC Zurich!... (Show more)

BEST DOCTORS worse admin/reception staff The ladies are a Master of Disaster. Very unfriendly and arrogant. The medical assistants at the clinic are excellent. Just the admin staff has some areas of improvement. Not only unpolite but even so arrogant that you are helpless even if you are a long year patient. They refuse passing messages to the doctors and insist you come in person. Well I am abroad (thousands of miles away) and can not manage to be there in person - had an emergency in a foreign country - the foreign doctor gave me a prescription and I was not sure if this aligned to my IROC treatment. This place has the most experienced doctors in Switzerland. The medical assistance and testing team are outstanding. The reason why I tolerate the incomptence of the admin team.... (Show more)

I was treated in the fall of 2020 by Dr. Press operated on his right upper eyelid at the IROC Eye Clinic in Zurich. I chose him because ptosis surgeries are generally rarely carried out in small Switzerland and most eye surgeons have little experience in them (2-3 per year). Unfortunately, my expectations were anything but met. Before the operation, my right upper eyelid drooped a little and the left one looked normal and beautiful. Since the operation, the left upper eyelid has been drooping extremely badly (worse than the right one before the operation). When I'm tired in the morning/evening or have drunk a little alcohol, my left eye is practically closed. The right upper eyelid has been raised a little, but due to the shape it still looks tired and sad. It also turned reddish/pink and has stayed that color ever since. People keep asking me about it and asking me if I have an eye infection. I deeply regret the operation. Dr. Press has made the asymmetry of my eyes much worse than before the surgery. I would give anything to have the surgery reversed. I also found it unprofessional that no before/after pictures were taken or compared. For the suture removal, Dr. Press in Germany and another doctor took care of it for him, so I didn't see him at all and was able to voice my concerns.... (Show more)

Lense replacement 2 years ago. They were still using an older IOL-Master 500 (Carl Zeiss Meditec, Germany), which didn't include advanced lense power formulas like Hill RBF or even Barrett Universal II (which I should have requested, my bad) As anticipated, they got the power calculation off by +1 / -0.75 diopter, a suboptimal result by current means and standards. LASIK enhancement in both eyes was free of charge, but here again, off by 0.50 diopter in one eye. Second enhancement was again free of charge, and achieved good results. If you go for an IOL operation, please make a special request for the latest IOL-Master 700 and the most advanced power calculation formula (Hill RBF, Barrett Universal II, Haigis, Hoffer-Q) in order to avoid unnecessary subsequent enhancements (which may results in dry eyes issues). With Hill Radial Basis Function, the typical target is within +/- 0.25 diopter. Added: IROC informed me by email they acquire a newer IOL-Master 700 a few months ago. This is good.... (Show more)

Incredibly unsympathetic doctors and the reception staff were also very bad. I had to wait 1 hour, was there for a total of 3 hours and the doctor left the room four times during the conversation and picked up the phone several times. Makes you feel really bad: do they do that during the operation? The advice was also very bad. In addition, they only had the trashy paper Weltwoche in the waiting room.... (Show more)

I don't imagine a "private clinic" like that. 5 employees sit in two different places at the entrance. Immediately after entering, no one looks at me, but then there is a shout from a corner somewhere, from another table. Aha, the ladies right in front of the entrance are doing something else and don't even look at me - 2 meters in front of the door. Everything seems very unprofessional and impersonal, almost like at the post office when I have to take a number. It's definitely not friendly and customer-oriented. I am generally not satisfied with the administration, especially because my health insurance company is not billed directly, even though the services are covered by my insurance company. I'm also not used to my health insurance company contacting me and making me look stupid just because Iroc's bills are incorrect and/or incomplete. The reception is very unfriendly and the administration is unfortunately very poor. In the areas where patients have access, everything seems a bit improvised, cables are lying around everywhere or are simply stuck somewhere with ugly adhesive tape. In a waiting room there is an ugly air conditioning unit almost in the middle of the room, which makes a lot of noise and doesn't look that great either. When passing through this waiting area, there is a device and a monitor, completely unattended, on which various information with the names of customers is visible to everyone - so much for private clinic and discretion. Dr. I haven't met Theo Seiler Senior for a while, but his name is still everywhere. It's also confusing that Dr. Seiler Junior's first name is also Theo... Treatments with Prof. Dr. Theo Seiler Senior was very pleasant and professional. A pity!... (Show more)

Dr. Seiler recommended that I slowly taper off a therapy that was prescribed by another doctor after an operation. That sounds trivial at first, but I am extremely grateful that Dr. Seiler did this. It turned out that the therapy was no longer necessary. Too long a therapy would have brought unnecessary risks.... (Show more)

I would like to thank Dr. from the bottom of my heart. Theo G. Seiler for a successful Fetmo Lasik. Thanks to you, I have a better quality of life. I would also like to thank the friendly team and for all the support. Merci, Merci, Merci... I recommend the clinic at a high level, it is very professional and friendly. Ps: I wrote everything without my glasses😊... (Show more)

Best eye clinic ever...

After four successful operations - glaucoma (canaloplasty) and cataracts on both sides - I have come to appreciate Prof. Maya Müller as a very experienced surgeon and as a doctor who not only treats you with uncomplicated friendliness, but also with empathy and without white coat behavior. What a difference from the cold, authoritarian fobbing-off that I previously experienced in the eye clinic of a cantonal hospital and which literally drove me to flee and led me to IROC. After each consultation with Ms. Müller, I was calm and confident about the upcoming operations. Occasionally (rarely) slightly longer waiting times or an appointment request that cannot be fulfilled are simply part of running a lively practice. You are happy to pay this price and get the value in return that Ms. Müller takes the time for her patients and answers questions. Kudos also to the team and especially to Ms. Reimann from the OP Center, she was excellent at creating a calm, fear-free atmosphere.... (Show more)

Unprofessional and very poor customer service. Only interested in money and bad advice too! Absolutely not recommended.

Great and professional eye clinic!

I was treated at IROC for a total of 3 years. First because of poor visibility. This examination revealed keratoconus. It was therefore clear that normal laser treatment would not help. The path to perfect visibility was a long one. Dr. Seiler (Sr.) has a warm and welcoming personality and is certainly a pioneer in his field. Sometimes, however, his comments were a bit too positive, in that, for example, the healing phase after the operation was longer than announced or he initially said that with 80% certainty I wouldn't even need laser surgery after the crosslinking treatment - which in the end wasn't the case and you couldn't research anything about it yourself. Now his son runs the practice and I can only praise him. Very likeable, honest guy who tells things like they are. I felt like I was in good hands there. Given certain rather mediocre reviews, I suspect that the IROC is concentrating on special cases that a normally equipped clinic does not cover. The more special the case, the more complex the matter and therefore the longer the treatment. I had Lasik surgery 10 years ago and the IROC still took care of me and restored my vision fully with Crosslinking and Trans PRK. After 3 years I can say that I can fully recommend the clinic... I can only agree with the not very positive reviews. I wanted to get rid of my glasses and was actually ready to do so after two sessions. I was informed that someone would be in touch to schedule an operation in two weeks. Nothing happened. Then a few questions arose that I actually wanted answered. New appointment with a waiting time of 30 minutes. I left because there was obviously no interest. There are many other eye clinics in Zurich.... (Show more)

First-class ophthalmologists and state-of-the-art med/tech. Equipment in a very attractive atmosphere. I have been a highly satisfied patient here for 20 years. There is a total two star deduction for that overwhelmed employees at reception and when making appointments. One mistake after another is made, no attempt is made to correct it: the patient is then allowed to somehow see how he gets along. Simply not acceptable - and has been for years!... (Show more)

I had a great experience here, with professional and friendly advice from start to finish. I came for advice about Intraocular lens implants (which I ultimately decided against), and was very happy with the experience. Also, I was pleasantly surprised at the price when the bill for the measurements and everything came through.... (Show more)
