Hitomi Dental Office

Comparing to other dental clinic I went Hitomi Dental Office offers more care and urgent treatment I suffer from severe pain from a broken tooth after getting a temporary fix a few days ago from other clinic they weren’t so thorough with my condition and that time I didn’t feel pain so I thought it was nothing but after a few days my tooth started hurting. I have to get it done right away I couldn’t wait for my next appointment on that other clinic. So i decided to call Hitomi Clinic and explained my situation and they took take care of me right away at first i was expecting just a quick check and pain medication but the Doctor carefully examined my teeth and explained whats the problem and why it’s painful and the actual procedure that needed to be done. They are very friendly and professional. Incase they prescribed medication you dont have to worry about taking it they will put a note in English what is it for and how many times you will take it. I could make reservation very quick and didnt need to wait long. Services are very nice and staff offers both english and Japanese! Doctor was really professional and friendly. Explanation for process and reasons were really clear and smooth. Before here i went two other dentist,but somehow i couldnt really trust their comments or had doubts on doctors comments. Since i found it here yesterday i decided to continue going this place. Also unlike other typical Japanese dentist where make you come to the clinic so often and sometime at first i used to only have consultation or picture taken and had to go multiple times to get real treatment. I recommend Hitomi Dental Office. During my study abroad in Japan I unfortunately found out that I'm allergic to Japanese toothpaste (i have no idea either). I found out too late and it turned into an infection. So I started looking online for a good English speaking dentist. After a call or two I was able to connect Hitomi Dental Office and they took me in the same day even though it was quite late in my opinion. They gave me antibiotics and soon my issue was gone. Haven’t been to the dentist in like 12 years because of some child hood trauma but got worried about some things so decided to take the courage and go. It was the best experience I’ve ever had and I plan to back regularly. The staff were very accommodating and kind and their English was great and understandable too. Polite, professional, and always pain free. I have had really horrible dental anxiety since an incident in my childhood, I avoided going to the dentist for a long time due to this. Sadly cannot rate more considering the lack of follow up is causing me some serious problems. They can be very good and professional, but I rarely had twice the same dentist or hygienists. If they are running out of time, your check up will be rushed. As a consequence, I did not have an x-ray in a long while. When I finally had it, and as I was waiting to hear the results, I was sat in a chair, and a grumpy dentists starting drilling at my teeth. I never had any explication or was shown that x-ray. I assume it is because in spite of regular appointments, I ended up with two massive cavities. One of them requires a crown after having been treated at Hitomi dental 6 months prior. Over all, your experience will largely depend on who you have your appointment with, but I felt more like a client than a patient. I’m moving back to my home country after 3 years of using Hitomi Dental and feeling pretty sad about it. I came to Hitomi Dental after having an absolutely nightmarish experience with my local dentist back in Florida. I had a panic attack and such a horrible trauma from that appointment that I looked for an English speaking clinic with sedation because I didn’t think I could handle dental work with my anxiety anymore. I was wrong. They immediately calmed my fears and have spoken to me honestly and kindly from day one. I’ve had more fillings than I’d like to admit, a crown placed, night guards, you name it. I’ll be honest that I didn’t have a good routine with my teeth. I have an open bite and a set of parents with a plethora of genetic dental problems. This place made me care about my teeth. They made me feel like my situation isn’t hopeless, and there are things I can do. It was the first time in my life where I felt empowered by my situation instead of really lost and overwhelmed. I am so grateful. I will always be grateful for the treatment I received here. They are highly professional, trustworthy, and sincere people. Some of the procedures are outside insurance and a little expensive, but it’s worth it. I cannot recommend this office enough, from the office staff to the hygienists, to the dentists. The clinic is exceptional. My deep gratitude to Dr Sawada for a four-week intensive treatment program and to the office team for their support. I was admitted immediately, the consultation was competent and thorough, and the quality of the work is outstanding. It has brought me great relief and confidence. Great service, English speaking staff! I was visiting and had a broken tooth that just happened. Searched the internet and called 4 clinics and no one could get me in. I was lucky to get same day appointment with Hitomi. Lovely staff and great customer service so polite. Don't hesitate to go there. Easy location on street level. Really good service, in and out in no time and with surprisingly little amounts of hassle. The staff speak English since this is a dental office targeted towards English-speakers.

By far the best dentist that I have been to in Tokyo. Not only do the staff speak English well, but they have a very "western" style of communicating, meaning, they are very direct about what they need to do, what the recommended treatments are, and are clear about pricing. They have many options available for a variety of different issues. For my visit they were able to identify my issues and immediately gave treatment/cleaning at a very high level. 10/10 would recommend, definitely will be coming back.... (Show more)

Dr. Hitomi is the best, she did a miracle with my tooth. All the staff are very friendly and patient.

Need to share my experience to caution the expats who are looking for decent English speaking dentist only to be disappointed later. Here is where it started, i came to this hospital back in 2020 to get dental work done, it took a few appointments but everything was smooth, i came back again in 2021 since i had some pain, it seems there was a different doctor this time and she told me there is a big cavity in one of the tooth which needs RCT, this was after multiple appointments that i had for dental work previously done in the same year, the doctor gave me response that "Seems they somehow missed this last time, i was not there", i still decided to move forward and have the filling done and reserve the RCT for later since the pain was not that severe and the staff and the doctors were professional. Now this where the horror story begins, i came back for a dental emergency on 26 may 2022, after it caused swelling in my face and the pain was excruciating, there was a different doctor this time which i never saw before i think it is the owner Hitomi san, her first response was without even probing or even asking for anything or any symptoms, "Since you refused the RCT last time, we can only give you medicines", i had to literally beg her atleast tell me what the problem is, as i am not a doctor myself to diagnose the issue, her response in a condescending and sarcastic tone "Oh so you want to know what the issue is", they did a few x rays later and then said seems you have infection in your mouth and you have to go to another doctor, we can't treat you here. Then without telling me or even asking me they started writing a referral to another hospital, since i don't speak any japanese i tried to enquire about the hospital they were trying to refer me, her response was "Not my hospital" in such a tone which the other person would feel offended. How can you treat another human being like that especially when the other person is in a deep pain. If you are having bad day or simply not competent enough to deal with cases outside your realms, venting your frustration on the patients is not acceptable. Why did you accept my appointment if all you did to me was to come all the way and pay you and get insulted and ask to go to a different doctor, i would have gone to a different doctor anyways. After all this a vague statement was made in the last that may be your tooth is now dead due to infection. On the other hand the staff at the reception were kind and professional, they explained me details about the hospital they were referring me to. PS- i have seen another doctor and my tooth is not dead, seems the doctor at this clinic was simply not in the mood to treat patients, all they do is sugar talk to get things done out of the insurance. Came in with bleeding gums that I had for a while but never treated and finding out I had serious tartar issues. After a few visits of quick treatments, not only have my gums stopped bleeding but my teeth feel healthier and stronger than as long as I can remember. (It's been a while since I visited a dentist). Very friendly and English speaking Dental office. I had an extremely painful emergency and they took me on the spot because my usual dentist wasn't available. Hitomi-sensei even suggested to send the scan to him if needed. Experience is still ongoing as it will takes a few appointments to fix it completely but so far, very happy with their service.... This review is mainly about the quality of service there. I have been going there for 6 months, did everything from fillings, cleaning and crowns. They really helped me fix my teeth. They were very supportive, I even went a few times for some emergency situations, one time even without an appointment, they always responded perfectly and in a kind way. They always listened to my concerns. They really helped me get over my dentist phobia. I am really happy I came across their clinic.
