Fresh Orthodontics Reviews

I don't often go out of my way to write reviews, but I had a really positive experience with Fresh Orthodontics. I did invisalign treatment with Dr. Khanna starting last year. He was very kind and attentive and the staff are very friendly. I unfortunately was not able to complete my full treatment with him because I was traveling and ended up moving out of New York. The office very kindly refunded me the difference and despite not being able to complete my treatment, I'm very happy with how my teeth came out. Out of all the ortho consultations I had (5 total) Dr. Khanna was the most attentive and helpful and made sure to answer any questions I had. I would happily recommend him!... (Show more)

Adult with regular braces here, I’ve been going to Dr Khanna for over a year and I am so impressed with the results that I’ve seen in that time. When I first started looking for braces or Invisalign to fix my midline and bite, other orthodontists made me feel like what I wanted to achieve was either stupid, impossible or so simple. I just had to meet Dr Khanna to understand that my goals were reasonable and achievable, and he explained to me how. I believe he is the best at what he does. He’s kind, thorough and prioritizes his patients’ results. That does mean that he is pretty heavily booked and he takes his time with each patient. I enjoy overhearing Dr Khanna talk with and explain thoroughly with each patient their process because it’s clear he really cares. If you’re going to invest longterm in your teeth, Dr Khanna is a very good investment.... (Show more)

I took my son in for a consult. They don't accept my insurance, so we went somewhere that does accept it. That place felt ALL wrong.... not even close to how warm & friendly the atmosphere is at Fresh Ortho. So we came back. The treatment plans are realistic. Now I'm ready to begin my own treatment plan.... (Show more)

Thank you so much for placing your trust in our office for both your son and yourself!

Better for kids than adults for Invisalign / orthodontia. Suggest going to someone who will be more thorough and less expedient for more complicated dental issues. If you are persistent, you can get time with him. But it will be in an open floor plan with multiple dental chairs and a schedule open / clock ticking in front of your chair. The office has been going through growing pains with the high volume of patients and understandable understaffing during COVID, which I think has added to the admin issues. I believe Dr. Khanna is a good dentist and wish him well. This is not a tear down review at all! It appears by the other reviews that he is beloved my many patients. This was just my unique experience, which has created a lot of extra admin work and visits and extended my treatment. So I wanted to balance out the reviews to manage others expectations and ensure you are proactive with your own care.... (Show more)

Hi Pat I appreciate the positives you have highlighted about my practice. About half of my practice are adults (many of whom have complex situations to manage), and I personally take the time to develop individual treatment plans for all patients. Complex cases often have multiple reviews and discussions of the treatment plan, as you may be aware. All treatments for all ages can sometimes come with unexpected side effects that must be managed on a case by case basis as needed. The open floor plan of an orthodontic office is an industry standard for many decades now and my office floor plan was professionally designed by a leading orthodontic practice architecture group. Our patient management software does indeed show elapsed time for a scheduled appointment, so we can focus on patient care needs for that specific visit and do our best try to stay on time through the day even though things may come up. We work hard to not make people feel rushed or just another number. And if additional time is needed we are always happy to schedule additional time or review. I am happy to connect directly to discuss your concerns. Please call our office at 347-708-9777 Regards, Dr. Khanna.

Dr. Khanna stuck with me through my treatment even when I was wavering and he didn’t charge me a cent over the initial fee when the regimen ran long. He’s a rare sort of guy and his staff is excellent.

My son was a patient of Fresh Orthodontics for over four years. The place completely fell apart during the pandemic. His appointments were delayed, he was routinely treated brusquely by the staff, and in the end, when he went to college out of state, Dr. Khanna used that as an excuse to turn over treatment to another orthodontist with no refund whatsoever after failing to complete treatment. I regret having my son treated here and would like to warn other parents of our experience.... (Show more)

Thanks for your review of our practice. You are correct that the pandemic hit our practice and many other businesses hard, but we are very fortunate to have gotten through it while still finishing treatments within a reasonable timeline given the challenges we all experienced as an entire community. Appointments were indeed delayed for all patients as we were shut down by the NY state government for 14 weeks in 2020 and only allowed to reopen with significant social distancing restrictions well into 2021. That kind of upended everyone’s plans. As as a healthcare provider, I am legally bound from providing any details or to discuss any experiences specific to any patient in a public forum. So I will respond in general terms of how we work with all of our patients and within my rights as a doctor. All patients bear personal responsibility and accountability to follow through with doctor referrals, prescribed treatment recommendations, and to attend all scheduled appointments at the recommended interval. In return, treatment progresses in a timely manner. I do not possess the unilateral ability to progress treatment without reasonable cooperation for any individual. We are very transparent with all patients that live out of state or that are planning to move out of state, that patient care is best served locally. It’s what is best for the patient because patient care isn’t about me. You can reasonably understand that many people have moved away from NYC through the pandemic for various reasons, and we have had many families transfer their care out of our office and have helped them find great doctors near their new homes. It is basic standard of care to recommend a transfer when moving. In transfer instances, we use a standardized formula to fairly prorate treatment completed. When fees paid are ahead of the treatment time and progress, we write a refund check. When treatment time and progress are beyond what has been paid, we settle the account accordingly. For all transfer patients, everything, both financial and patient care related, is transparently documented in writing and signed by the responsibility party and our office. There are no surprises as we follow a clearly outlined transfer protocol developed by the American Association of Orthodontists. They developed this protocol because the standard of care that receiving treatment locally is what is best for the patient. For those transferring out of our office, we completely understand that life comes with change and new adventures, and we go above and beyond for our patients to help locate good options for continued care, provide detailed written reports of progress and all records to ensure smooth transfer of care, and I often personally discuss the patient’s care directly with the receiving doctor. We do these additional steps above the standard AAO protocol for our patients at no additional charge because, again, it’s what’s best for the patient. All the best Dr. Ankush Khanna

I am a current patient, still in treatment so can't share the final result yet but hopefully will do soon :) I just decided to check reviews of my orthodontics clinic (yes, I haven't checked the reviews before treatment because my primary dentist recommended this place to me, I very much trusted it). So, I saw a couple of reviews about scheduling and would like to share my experience. I needed to see a doctor a couple of times before my exact scheduled date and I have never been denied to do that, the receptionist always helped to find an optimal / earlier date, and time to see the doctor if it was necessary. The doctor and staff are very helpful and friendly, and the explanation of what to expect during treatment is very clear. The place in general is very clean and neat! * I am an adult and really like the approach to me regarding the braces/ treatment process.... (Show more)

Much overdue review. My children have been with Dr Khanna's office since my oldest needed to straighten his teeth, currently working on my second and I'm sure we will be bringing my youngest here soon as well. Dr Khanna's extremely knowledgeable and answers questions/concerns thoroughly and work with the parents to make the best decisions for their children's oral care. Yes, every business goal is to make money but with Dr Khanna, you can tell he also takes pride with the work and outcome from his patients. Even though we moved across the state and have many good reviewed ortho practices near us, we still travel the hour+ drive back through the NYC traffic specifically because we know that my kids' teeth are in great hands.... I had the best experience under Dr. Khanna's care at Fresh Orthodontics. The total experience from beginning to end was a pleasure. The office is staffed by the nicest, most courteous and HAPPY staff. The orthodontic techs are well trained and equally pleasant, happy and absolutely gentle! During the initial shut down due to Covid, Dr. Khanna took every possible step to assure his patients that the office would do everything possible to assure our safety. And he did just that! I wore braces when I was a young teen however at age 65 I wanted to freshen my ‘smile’ by fixing the teeth that now were crowded in places and spaced out in others. I chose clear brackets and wire because I know better of myself and didn’t think I’d be completely compliant with the clear aligner system.  It’s a totally different technology than it was 55 years ago when I first wore braces. The results are dramatic! I am so pleased! Thank you, Dr. Khanna and staff! AB, Park Slope... (Show more)

I told myself that I would not return to this place but thinking that they already had my son's antecedent, I gave them a second chance and guess they complained to him and told him that he has to remove the rewind and if he does not, they will not give him the service they receive. It seems that it sounds threatening or not? fence place. I took my son because his teeth were very misaligned and they were temporarily aligned and I paid almost 4000 for the treatment but as soon as they grew they were misaligned again and the orthodontist wants another 4700 for another treatment 😂🤡yes of course go right now where a true professional so that what doesn't happen to me, he only cares about his money, he doesn't know the effort I made to pay for his service.... Hello Ricky. Please contact our office so we can help resolve your concerns directly. 347-708-9777. While most children only need one stage of treatment, some children need two stages of treatment to receive adequate care. Early stage treatments, called Phase 1, are intervention treatments in younger children with many remaining baby teeth to address jaw growth and specific teeth that are at high risk for permanent damage. In many cases, these treatments are limited to only the upper teeth. After Phase 1, as children grow and the remaining adult teeth grow into the mouth, the teeth may continue to move after Phase 1 treatment, as we do not have the ability to direct how the remaining teeth will grow. The second stage of treatment, called Phase II, occurs several years later, once all the adult teeth have grown into the mouth. This is when we straighten all of your teeth and create an ideal bite with braces or Invisalign on all of your teeth. Our top priority has always been to provide our patients with the highest quality of care in the least invasive manner. Hi Ricky. Words cannot express how grateful we are with Dr. Khanna and his staff. He is really the best! The office is always clean, sanitized and organized. The staff is so friendly and professional. They’re always willing to help. Dr. Khanna changed my sons life! When we first came to him, my son was being bullied and laughed at because of his teeth, and he was so understanding. My son immediately felt so comfortable, and now my son has a MILLION DOLLAR SMILE! I recommend Fresh Orthodontics to everyone! We love you Dr. Khanna! Forever grateful for you!... (Show more)

The staff and service are great. However, scheduling appointments has always been an nightmare and for this reason, I wish I’d chosen another orthodontist given how many times you have to go during the course of a treatment. You’re scheduling appointments two months in advance and if something happens to come up and you need to reschedule, good luck getting a new appointment close to your original appointment time (you’re offered new times that are two months out, delaying your course of treatment by two months). I’ve also had appointments rescheduled by them without my consent, without so much as a courtesy call to ask if the new appointment time works for us. They also don’t answer the phone when you call.... (Show more)

Hi Sarah. I do appreciate you acknowledging that our staff and service have been great. We work very hard to take care of our patients. As a small business, we have not been immune to the pandemic and NYC regulations and the operational challenges they have posed. The safety of our patients and staff is our top priority, and for the past year we had to close for 3 months and had to reduce the total number of patients we can accommodate per day in order to help maintain social distancing once reopened. This has been a challenge that has affected our entire community in many situations. We did have to recently reschedule several days of patients without notice because of a death in my immediate family. This is the only time in my career we have had to take this type of rescheduling measure, and we opened up my personal days off to minimize treatment delays for patients. I’m sorry my personal situation was an inconvenience to you. I do invite you to speak directly with me, so I can help resolve your concerns. - Dr. Khanna
