Mr Penman
Mr Penman studied at St Thomas’s Hospital London and worked as a research registrar at Queens Charlotte’s and Chelsea Hospital and St Thomas’s Hospital London, gaining his clinical registrar experience on the St George’s rotation. He completed his senior registrar training in obstetrics and gynaecology and subspecialties training in maternal and fetal medicine at St Michael’s Hospital in Bristol. He was appointed Consultant Obstetrician & Gynaecologist and specialist in Fetal Medicine at the Medway Hospital, Gillingham in December 1997 and also as an honorary Consultant in Fetal Medicine at the Harris Birthright Centre, King’s College Hospital, London. He resigned his NHS position in 2006 and now works full time in private practice.
We were recommended Dr Penman from numerous friends and family members. After being failed, repeatedly by the NHS, I contacted Dr Penman and booked in for a consultation/scan. He immediately made me feel at ease and very relaxed. I was able to discuss my concerns with him and when it came to completing the scans, he was calm, reassuring and discussed every step with my husband and I. The communication is outstanding and the feedback of results etc is detailed and well explained throughout. What we admire and respect is that he is 100% honest with you regardless of the situation and always offers advice on what to do next. This is the type of genuineness you can expect only from a medical practitioner as skilled as Dr Penman himself. The aftercare is something to commend. We decided to see Dr Penman again, straight after the NHS 12 week scan for the Nucal/Gender scan on the same day. The NHS called us to inform us of some potential risks we face within our pregnancy and leaving us with unanswered questions; yet leaving us with worry and ultimately fuelling my anxiety. We decided to reach out to Helen (Dr Penman’s PA) to see if we could book in for an emergency consultation to discuss these results. Helen is very professional, understanding and compassionate all at the same time. They were very quick in their communication and within a very short time, Dr Penman called myself to go through these results and enable me to make logical sense of them. Again, this was done out of pure courtesy and kindness as we had the 12 week nuchal/gender scan with him. Overall, if you’re looking for a highly skilled, knowledgeable, trustworthy Doctor for fetal medicine, I would say Dr Penman is the only man to approach. I went to Mr Penman yesterday for reassurance after my nhs scan showed a concern. Mr Penman made me feel very comfortable, explained everything thoroughly and put my mind at rest. I visited Dr Penman as it was my first pregnancy after loss and I am so glad I did. I have seen him twice for an early scan & one later in my pregnancy. Both times I left feeling reassured and fully informed. He gave me and my husband the time we needed to understand what everything meant and to ask any questions we had. I have been able to approach this pregnancy with a lot less anxiety than I ever imagined possible thanks to Dr Penman and his calm, & sensitive ( but also very comical!) nature & I can’t thank him enough.... Dr Penman is very kind and calm person. He is so professional yet so personal and explains everything so you walk away with no questions. i would recommend him as he put our minds at rest.

Second time seeing Dr penman and he was just as good and accurate as he was 9 years ago very detailed and explained scan! Worth every penny thankyou.
Dr Penman was very thorough and reassuring. We went in at 12 weeks and was assured the baby is healthy and he also told us his prediction of gender with an 80% chance accuracy. I would recommend dr penman to any pregnant woman looking for that thorough scan!
I cannot recommend Dr Penman enough. I have been to seen him for scans in all three of my pregnancies. He identified I was having a miscarriage in my second pregnancy and spent time explaining the process and future options to us. In my current pregnancy I have had various issues and again Dr Penman has spent time going through all of my concerns, explaining them and providing reassurance. My appointments with Mr Penman have been invaluable. I’ve never felt rushed or like I’m asking silly questions. He has been excellent at providing reassurance to both myself and my husband. It was the first time I have been to Dr D Penman. He took all his time explainning everything to us it was my 25th week scan will definitly go in a month time. Also he gave us lovely pictures and a CD full of our little baby.
Amazing experience, Dr.penman but me at ease and had all the knowledge and information ready. He was so thoughtful and helpful wouldn’t have gone anywhere else! Highly recommend

After a bad experience with NHS, I found Dr. Penman. I traveled from London to Kent to see him.He is a lovely person , very calm by explaining you all the details.He made sure everything is perfect with the baby also, there is nothing that can affect the pregnancy.I do really recommend him and I can’t wait to see him again for my future scans. I have been to see dr penman 3 times throughout my pregnancy and every time he’s been great. He talks and explains everything clearly and is very warm and welcoming. I highly recommend him for both peace of mind and to get better pictures of your little one.

It was a last minute decision to visit DR Penman but I’m very pleased that we did. We had our NHS scan in the morning and my husband and children wasn’t allowed in the scanning room. After leaving the hospital we decided to see if we could find anywhere to have a private scan. Dr Penman didn’t keep us waiting upon arrival. He was professional and friendly and we immediately felt comfortable in his hands. We decided to find out the gender and Dr Penman was confident at delivering his findings.
