About Expand Well Being I am a Licensed professional counselor (LPC), Certified Senior Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) Practitioner, Holistic & Integrative Mental Health Care Practitioner, National certified Psychological Coach, Systemic Supervisor and Social Pedagogue with over 20 years of experience based in Cologne/ Germany and Chennai/India. I providecounseling and consulting to individuals, artists, cross cultural families, expatriates, entrepreneurs, and small and medium-sized businesses. About counseling and consulting: As a member of VfP (Verband freier Psychotherapeuten e.V.) I follow the ‘Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counseling & Psychotherapy’. All counseling, consulting and supervision sessions are confidential. I am a member of ACBS - Association for Contextual Behavioral Science and IASA - International Association for the Study of Attachment. The key elements of counseling are: - A service provided when you wish to make changes in your life. - An opportunity to make sense of your individual circumstances. - Contact with a therapist who helps identify the choices for change. - Support for the individual during their process of change. - The end result leaving you better equipped to cope for the future. Philosophy: In counseling and consulting I take a non-directive and non-judgmental approach to facilitate exploration of the clients concerns. I believe it is important that clients know and feel that they are in control of their process, and of the direction and depth they will go to in sessions. Consequently, the clients do most of the talking. I listen carefully and empathically, and do my best to understand the clients’ individual experiences and the significance for them. My philosophy is that we are all unique and therefore we are the true experts for ourselves. I believe we can all be trusted to find our own way through our problems, anxieties and life-crises if we are listened to empathically, non-judgmentally and with a non-directive approach. My motivation is to put myself fully into attempting to understand what my clients’ situations, their individual meanings, and experiences truly are. Expertise: I specialize in Salutogenesis, Mindfulness, Stress Awareness, Bibliotherapy, ACT – Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and DeCrave©. DeCrave© is an innovative de-addiction treatment program. Relapse prevention and developing a contented sobriety are desired outcomes of the challenging journey of recovering addicts. My goal to develop this integrative DeCrave© therapy was to assist and support clients handling craving and replacing substance use with healthy coping skills when confronted with the inevitable stressors that threaten sobriety.
