Dr. Yasser El-Sheikh - The Albany Medical Clinic

I had a virtual assessment meeting scheduled with Dr. El-Skeikh. His office called me the week prior to confirm the appointment date and time and to confirm my phone number and advise that the call will come from a private number. The appointment was scheduled for 11:30 am. No one called. I waited until 3 pm and then called the doctor’s office and got the recording that they have left for the day (it was a Friday) and I could not leave a message. I called on the Monday morning and left a message indicating that the doctor was a ‘no show’ and no one called me to cancel or reschedule or apologize for not showing up. They called a week later saying they were sorry I missed my appointment and to call them to resched. I did not miss my appointment — the doctor never showed up and no one from his office apologized or contacted me to cancel or reschedule. Needless to say, I did not call back. Very disappointing since I waited over 6 weeks to get the virtual assessment meeting that never happened.... (Show more)

In 2014, I underwent a complex surgery on my hand performed by Dr. Yaser. I am extremely grateful that Dr. Yaser successfully addressed the mass of blood vessels on the nerve of my finger without damaging the nerve in my hand. I had difficulty finding a highly skilled doctor like Dr. Yaser, and I am truly fortunate to have him as my surgeon. I went to see DrYasser 1st time today for a consultation The secretary was extremely nice and professional ( sorry I forgot her name) and so was Dr Yasser! Very pleasant and explained every thing in detail Completely satisfied with my visit and definitely recommend Dr Yasser !

Dr. El-Sheikh straightened out my index finger, which was jutting out at an angle and loose in the joint. Now I can consistently point straight! Dr. and staff were very accommodating despite the COVID restrictions, and I couldn't be happier.

Looking for a hand surgeon? LOOK ELSEWHERE... After waiting months and months for an appointment having to withstand rude support staff, I finally had my surgery for Dupuytren’s contracture. I had better mobility of my hand before the surgery than I did after the procedure. Six weeks post op and still significant swelling and massive scar tissue on my fingers and palm preventing me from making a closed fist. You’d think having botched the surgery there would be lots of post-op follow up... It has been non existent just snarly interactions with staff. I would definitely NOT recommend Dr. El-Shiekh for any type of surgery in fact I wouldn’t trust him to cut my steak... Barry Smith... (Show more)

Third rate doctor who is only interested in his private practice, not OHIP patients. Luckily, I ignored this advice to do nothing and had a finger surgery with the excellent Dr. Anastasia at Toronto Western. Should be disbarred for his lack of ethics.

Saw him for carpal tunnel problems. Personable and professional, and surgery went well. All I could ask for.

I waited 6 months then reception started calling to change my appointment. Well they didn't track the last change so I arrived at the correct time they told me instead of the outdated time they still had. The waiting room was empty and I could overhear reception doing the same thing to other people's appointments on the phone. They offered no alternative appointment. I wasted 6 months of pain and got juked by a dishonest receptionist at the last minute. I will never return.... (Show more)
