Question and Answer

Todd Dakin
A native of Bridgewater NS, Dr. Dakin graduated from Bridgewater High School in 1986. He continued his post secondary education at Dalhousie University, completing an Advanced Major in Biology in 1990, a Masters Degree in Human Anatomy & Neurobiology in 1993, and finally his Doctorate in Dental Surgery in 1997. In addition to the mandatory dental training, Dr. Dakin also received certification for Laughing Gas Sedation and Implant Dentistry. An active member of the Nova Scotia Dental Association and Canadian Dental Association, Dr. Dakin also volunteers on several committees and participates in regional Dental Society meetings, Dental Study Clubs, and continually takes advanced dental education courses. In addition to private practice, Dr. Dakin is also the Chief of Dental Staff at the South Shore Regional Hospital where he utilizes Operating Room privileges to treat children and mentally challenged patients. In addition to having an active family life with his wife, Deborah, and their children, Jared and Olivia, he also enjoys playing (and watching!) soccer and hockey in addition to coaching soccer in his spare time. Other hobbies include: woodworking, wine making, playing guitar, photography, computers, and collecting and listening to many different styles of music.

Ms Krista Emino-Savory
Important member of Dr. Dakins team since he first began practicing in 1997. After graduating from Park View Education Centre in 1988, Krista went on to NSCC-IT, graduating in 1990 as a Registered Dental Assistant. Krista possesses all the attributes needed of a skilled Dental Assistant. With an unparalleled work ethic, multifaceted work experience, and extroverted personality, Krista is efficient whether she is assisting chair side, preparing patient treatment plans or completing various lab cases at our dental lab. Krista recognizes the need to educate people on having good oral health, so as a community service, she volunteers her spare time speaking to various age groups about good oral health and participates in the weekly fluoride rinse program at her childrens school. Krista also displays her organizational abilities by being an active volunteer at both the provincial (NSDAA) and national (CDAA) levels of her association.

Ms Alexa Newell
As our practice grew, it became evident a second Dental Assistant was necessary to keep up with patient flow. Alexa joined our team in 2005 and has been a perfect fit - bringing a strong work ethic, cheerful personality, and keen mind with a desire to learn. Growing up in Voglers Cove, Alexa graduated from Park View Education Centre in 2001 and went on to complete 2 years of her Bachelor of Science at Dalhousie University. She later graduated with honors in 2004 from NSCC-IT as a Registered Dental Assistant with level II certifications. Alexas gentle and personable nature has won over many patients as she is at ease working with both children and adults. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time outdoors, and shares her love for animals with boyfriend, Rodney, and with friends and family.
Dakin and his possy are very judgemental and discriminate you if your teeth are less than perfect. Him and his hired hand laughed out loud at my xray and proceeded to make jokes . I've since pulled myself and my families files away from this outfit and gotten another dentist. This kind of behavior in this day and age is barbaric and shouldn't be tolerated . The dental work is shoddy at best. I've since have several of his mistakes fixed elsewhere. He should focus more on doing better dental work instead of his bimbo show... (Show more)
Absolutely horrible service. They ruined 2 of my teeth and when I inquired they had me leave work to arrive to be told there was nothing they can do until my scheduled appointment. I haven't eaten or slept in 3 days because of their shotty work. Definitely do not use.
Always a great experience
Really lovely dentist. Clean, state of the art facility. Friendly staff. Great care!
Everyone at the facility is top notch, friendly& professional.
Not happy with the hygienist: Many dark spots left after the cleaning which I only noticed at home because I wasn't offered a mirror. Never had any issues with dental cleanings anywhere else. This was my first cleaning there and it was the worst I ever had. For $165 I expect a thorough job. Update: They called me and want to clean the dark spots at my next appointment free of charge.... Wonderful place, kind, understanding and very good work. Recommend to any one great place great people.
My first visit to a dentist in Nova Scotia and I saw Dr. James Brunt and his assistant. These two are excellent, they calmed me and talked to me throughout my procedure. Oh! and absolutely no pain. What an awesome dentist. Colin Boyes
Best work I have had done in years.
Awesome experience there, friendly staff and very professional, I have extreme anxiety and a fear of dentists, they made me feel very at ease and were very helpful with calming me down. I Will be back to get other work done in the furfut :)
I have been going to Bella Dental for the last few years and I have never had a problem. The employees are always kind and nice to talk to. I highly recommend this office. :) - Kimber
