Dr Faisal Ali - Macclesfield

I would like to recommend Dr Faisal Ali to anyone who is experiencing skin problems and has concerns about their skin health. I recently had an appointment at Spire Manchester for a consultation with Dr Faisal Ali as I wanted to have my face checked due to having been sunburnt as a child and a few "spots" that have become darker with time were concerning me. He has been exceptionally meticulous in all aspects of the consultation and has provided me with all sorts of informations I needed in order to understand the overall current health state of my skin and the steps to take to minimise further damage. He has taken all the necessary time to make sure I was comfortable during the whole procedure of the skin examination and the treatment I decided to undertake. I felt totally at my ease, and more than anything completely relieved from a state of anxiety for not knowing what was wrong with my skin. If I had to use just one word to rate my recen consultation with Dr Faisal Ali I would say it has been exceptional. Everyone at Spire Manchester has shown to be truly dedicated and so warmingly kind to their patients. I originally was scheduled to have a BCC removed from my scalp and a skin graph done to cover up. However fortunately I went to see Dr Ali and he informed me of the Mohs surgery that not only reduces the need for skin graph and visual appearance is better, it also has a higher success rate of removing the cancer. I googled this also to understand the facts. Dr Ali performed the surgery, for which my family have said the scar is unnoticeable. I am happy for him to share the pictures for others if required. I would also like to add that aside from his skillful procedure, he has a very friendly nature which i think is very important when you are being treated medically to ease any anxieties.... Dr Ali was very knowledgeable and quickly reassured me that the new moles on my face were harmless. I followed through with a procedure to have them removed which was equally efficient with his caring manner and focus on detail and patient care. Would definitely recommend him

In May 2023, I had a consultation, shave biopsy and subsequent Mohs microsurgery performed by Dr Ali. I highly recommend Dr. Ali for his professional skill and personable approach. At every stage of my interaction with him, his secretary and the wider care team, I have been made to feel in expert hands and put at ease. Dr. Ali’s knowledge of his field and skill as a Mohs surgeon is first rate and his manner is polite, approachable, friendly, professional and assured at all times. During my consultation, Dr Ali checked my treatment history, examined a problematic spot on my scalp and did a full body skin check. He then suggested a shave biopsy of the scalp spot to allow confirmation of diagnosis. The following Monday, Dr. Ali called me with the results to confirm diagnosis of nodular basal cell carcinoma and outlined a number of treatment options, which we discussed and he confirmed in a follow-up letter. I opted for Mohs micrographic surgery, for which Dr. Ali was able to secure a surgery slot with himself that weekend. The treatment went well with Dr. Ali calmly explaining the procedure at every stage and ensuring any questions that I had were answered to my full satisfaction. At the end of the successful procedure, Dr. Ali explained the necessary aftercare and provided a package of materials including written instructions to ensure I had everything needed. He also provided WhatsApp contact details to allow me to quickly get in touch with any follow-up queries or concerns I may have had. I found that reassuring. Dr. Ali checked in via WhatsApp on the Sunday to check all was well and again encouraged me to reach out in case of any query. I had a follow-up check-in appointment with Dr Ali today (5 Jun), which confirmed all was healing very well and as expected. A further follow-up appointment took place on 29 Aug. Dr Ali confirmed all had healed well and he had no current concerns with my skin. The service provided by Dr Ali and his team was first rate. Dr Ali went out of his way to make sure we agreed the most appropriate plan for me, and I got the best treatment, as quickly as possible. I could not have asked for a better level of care and attention.

In July 2022 Dr Ali diagnosed a Right Nasal Ala Basel Cell Carcinoma which had started out as a small mole, but had now grown a lot larger and had started to bleed. The NHS waiting time was twelve weeks but Dr Ali saw me in a week at The Spire Regency Hospital in Macclesfield. On 13 August I had the Mohs Micrographical Surgery and a skin graph from my right shoulder to aid the recovery at Discover Laser Clinic at Burnley. A week later Doctor Ali changed the dressing at the Spire Hospital in Manchester. It is now six months later and all I have to show for the surgery are two tiny scars. I was given a personal recommendation to see Dr Ali by a fellow Doctor. He is an expert in the field of Dermatology. I went to him with regards to a skin related condition. We worked together over several weeks and he was extremely helpful in investigating what the causes were. It was a pleasure to be in his presence and having him as my Doctor. Caring, knowledgeable and really does take a high-level interest in his patients. I didn’t actually have anyone suggest Dr Ali to me, however chose to see him based on his impressive credentials...I’m so glad I did. The professional and personal approach to the consultation was fantastic and didn’t feel rushed as I had felt in the past with other clinicians.
