Dr. Ditzell Psychiatry Reviews

This man is extremely unethical and over prescribes. I doubt he even has a medical degree because of the way he over prescribed me. He will make you call him 1x weekly so he can 4x charge for sessions and prescriptions which he overprescribes and makes money on. On those weekly calls neither he nor his non-medical assistants listen you’re mostly on hold or listening in on other patients calls. The positive reviews are because he freely injects KTm vitamins. No protocol. That’s it. He is probably unlicensed or it should be removed... (Show more)

Dr. D is hands down the best doctor in the city. I can personally say that working with Dr. Ditzell has caused major improvements both for me personally as well as for my career and company's performance. His insights and genuine desire to have his patients succeed is directly correlated with my company improving by leaps and bounds reaching levels of success that I never before even thought possible. His High Performance Psychology program specifically taught me how to both think and analyze things in a certain way that has lead to me making major improvements and reaching new heights both financially as well as personally. Many doctors could take notes from Dr. D on the way that he is a teacher to his patients showing them how to improve first their mindset quickly followed by improvements in any other desired aspect of their life. His methods work and truly improve patients well being showing them how to themselves make things right in their life as opposed to the typical health professional who attempts to have patients believe that there's something wrong only in order to "treat" (bill their insurance). I am truly grateful for meeting Dr. Ditzell as he is a great doctor, a genuinely good person, an exemplary business advisor, and someone that I consider to be a true friend. Thanks for everything Dr. D!... (Show more)

Dr. Ditzell is a wonderful, knowledgeable, and caring Psychiatrist. His staff is also amazing, warm, and genuine. It's obvious they place a very high priority on patient care and well-being by the way they run their practice: with professionalism, timeliness, and attention to detail. Dr. Ditzell's counsel has truly helped me navigate professional and personal relationships as well as helped me manage my ADHD. I would recommend Dr. Ditzell and his team and practice any day of the week!... (Show more)

Dr Ditzell is a nice man . However, he does tend to over prescribe medication as well as over book appointments . Overall 1/5

Arrogant, unhelpful staff, all about the money, think twice I don't usually leave reviews but with mental health I think this is valid info for others in there journey to help.

**I should note this is the second time I've ever google reviewed anything (the first was for an amazing upholsterer in LA...he asked me to write a review)** I am writing it in an attempt to protect anyone from seeing this grossly unethical and unprofessional provider. Historically, I am fastidious in selecting my healthcare providers. Before seeing a provider, I vet their educational background and academic/research publications. However, since I had just moved back to NYC and my former NYC practice was completely booked, I went against my better judgement and saw the "#1 psychiatrist in New York" who had no research that I could find on google. I did this because my psychiatry needs are pretty simple and I have a therapist for my psychotherapy needs. What could go wrong? For privacy and legal reasons, I won't detail the psychological-thriller-esque experience I had with this provider. However, I will say that he was comfortable blatantly lying about the facts of my sessions with him and lying about my family history --I suspect to cover his unethical practice. His lies on my medical records became apparent to me after I reviewed the medical records from his practice that I requested. They were (finally) released to me after my fourth request. In my fourth attempt, I cited the HIPPA statue that entitles patients access to their records. I promptly received them. It should be noted that I received my falsified records AFTER I sent him an email detailing his reckless and concerning treatment of me. In this email, I cc'd my therapist, both of my prior psychiatrists, and other relevant entities. It's still unclear this provider's motivation for all of this. I did think it was strange that in our first session he asked me if I was "famous" (I should have ran for the hills at that moment). It's interesting that in the session where he began to completely turn and terrify me I definitely did not look "famous." I looked like a woman who has acute stress disorder--a victim of domestic violence related stalking by a "famous adjacent" ex-boyfriend--a fact that this provider knew about for months but suddenly decided it could just be a "non-bizarre delusion." I promptly called the NYC hotline for gender-based violence and they advised me to report this incident so it doesn't, "happen to anyone else." Additionally, my mother who has also experienced/witnessed the stalking from my ex-partner called this doctor on my behalf. I was so shook and she was disturbed by his treatment of me. During this call, I jumped on the phone. I asked him if he ever spoke to my ex. He replied, "my team knows about your case and has never released your HIPPA protected information..." Lastly, based on my experience, I fear retaliatory action from this provider for writing this review. However, I believe it is important information for anyone considering seeing this provider.... Mental heath challenges do not restrict themselves to working hours. Once you acknowledge this, especially as a caregiver, you appreciate a mental health professional who is on call 24 hours (in our case 7:00am on a July 4th holiday). Available, focussed, perceptive and empathetic, but firm. The journey to recovery often requires a push, and Dr Ditzell will not hesitate to tell you even what you don’t want to hear…I have noted more progress in the last 2 years than in the 7 years prior with different providers. Thank you!... (Show more)

Completely financially motivated. He doesn’t even care to get the full scope of your problem and only recommends expensive and completely unecessary things. If you want someone that truly cares and isn’t only interested in taking your money stay away from this dude!

I have been seeing Dr. Ditzell for about 3 years now and the results have been life changing for me. I have become the professional that I have always wanted to be in his care, on top of achieving great progress in my personal life and inner emotional world. He is a wonderful role model for me and for so many others, and I am so grateful that Dr. Ditzell is my doctor.

Avoid if you require respect, empathy, and someone to manage complex and stigmatized therapies this is not your person, he is financially focused and completely absent to any degree otherwise and will not refill any controlled substance without prosecuting you emotionally as a drug seeker. unprofessional zero stars.

Jeff is the man. No sugar coated back rubs. Just realness all around to get my head back in the game. I’d Recommend Dr. D to outgoing performance driven folk all the way hitting the other side of the spectrum - to the introverted Dungeons & Dragons player.. Namaste.
