Dr Benjamin Du Bruyn

If I could give him a zero, it would be too high. He misled me to believe that he was a competent dentist, capable of performing specific dental procedures, as he so eloquently advertises. However, in my experience with him, he failed to adequately carry out 2 basic shallow composite fillings. After the procedure my occlusion was out and I experienced pain when biting on those teeth. In his numerous attempts to rectify this, he damaged the nerves in the 2 teeth, exacerbating my pain and discomfort. I lost trust in him and decided to get a second opinion from a dental specialist. Unfortunately for me, those 2 teeth were irreparably damaged and had to be extracted and replaced with implants and crowns, which caused me alot of pain, and cost me alot of money. l posted my story to serve as a warning to others, Trust him at your own Peril.... Dr du Bruyn is the best dentist i have ever met. I am a very difficult patient when it comes to dentistry and he is the first Dentist to show compassion and find an alternative way to make me more comfortable. I don't believe that Dr Benjamin du Bruyn is competent to be practicing as a dentist. I've been back to him more than ten times for a bridge that he hasn't been able to fit successfully. It has cost me more than R15 000 in loss of income, almost as much as the procedure, and he has yet to respond to my correspondence. I am reporting him to the The South African Dental Technicians Council and would like to warn prospective patients so that they don't suffer the losses that I have.... (Show more)
