Desborough Surgery

Bad experience - rude new secretary's and midwife. Used to be good back in the early and mid 2000’s but terrible now.

2 receptionist that are always professional helpful and always willing to help there patients. Amazing ladies… Thank you Lynn and Tylah… also special thanks to Nurse Jenny, always looking after me and ordering my dressings and seeing me so quick! Thank you for delivering high standard of care. Update: 30/01/2023 I previously wrote a review 2 years ago for this doctors. Had to update it considerably because the service has gone down hill. Customer service rude & unprofessional. The receptionists think they are doctors or health care workers giving out advice when you require a actual nurse or doctor. Call waiting times ridiculous, lack of overall care and service. Been going here since I was a child. Not alot has changed. Just well maintained and looked after. A few additional features and services to keep inline with the changes and commitments year round. Always friendly service from reception team. Doctors for me is based on preference as some of them I have incountred have been rude and not helpful while others are friendly and kind. Would especially avoid dr reidy. But overall great service... (Show more)

I’ve been coming to this practice for many years, as a teenager I remember the receptionists being blunt and as though I was bothering them. I’m pleased to say the last 2-3 years everything has been so much more pleasant This week I was greeted very professionally/ politely on the phone and given a prompt appointment with the nurse. honestly SO BAD. I called for an appointment got given one at 11:15 and told to go to the surgery. I went to reception and the lady’s told me to go upstairs. Only 1h and 10 mins in a doctor realised that I was sat there and asks who I am and who I’m there for, I tell them my name and they say how it was a telephone appointment, NO ONE told me this. Why couldn’t the receptionist tell me that on the phone or even when I was SAT THERE for that long after she told me to take a seat. Communication levels are not good.... (Show more)

So rude receptionist, never gave me any appointments even I called between 8.30-9.00 am. Never listen to you, never. They should rid of her.

Very bad service, unprofessional doctors, they can’t even solve out even a simple health issue I don’t recommend them AT ALL !!

I booked an appointment at 11:15 and arrived around 11:00 and currently it's 12:10 and other people arrived after us and get to go first. We asked the receptionist it's been 1 hour and they said if you have a problem you may leave, like they have NO MANNERS. This always happens. Doctors here are illiterate, don't help with patients and only good doctor is Luque. Don't reccomend surgery unless you want to waste your time.... (Show more)

Absolutely abysmal doctors surgery, please if you can, go elsewhere. You call at 8:30am for an appointment only for you to sit through 10 mins of automated waffle before being given options to press (press 1 to book an appointment and skip the waffle). When you do get through, you're hit with "all lines are currently busy" and the call is disconnected. They have zero holding/telephone queuing system to take appointments. I've never seen a doctors that doesn't have a phone queuing system. Please try and register elsewhere if you can.... (Show more)

I am new to this surgery and was a bit scared of going due to all the bad reviews. I had an appointment but didn't get seen to about an hour after my appointment. The wait was long but I was seen by Dr Luque, what a lovely man. He was very professional, did all the necessary checks and put me at ease, he apologised for the long wait, I can not fault him in anyway. I am not sure about the rest of the doctors so I can't vouch for them. It is not the most welcoming of surgeries but Dr Luque makes up for that. At this time I would recommend this surgery. I visited surgery in February 2023 with back pain. I've got very strong painkillers and I was sent for an X-ray. I attended X-ray next week and there is no reaction from Desborough Surgery since then.

I arrived for my appointment regarding a follow-up on a suspected allergic reaction which hospitalized me. I was told that this GP surgery does NOT deal with this type of thing! During the same appointment I asked for them to check my glucose and cholesterol levels etc. again they refused claiming that I have to be 40 before they can check for these kinds of things. It took 3 days of waking up early for an emergency appointment which I was lucky enough to over others that are also trying to check their own health but it is pointless. This practice should be closed down. It is an insult to the field of medicine and the clients that they supposedly care for. The doctor I saw is an absolute disgrace and she should be disbarred from practicing medicine. Hippocratic oath... My a**. I had to plead and force her hand to send me for a blood test after suffering severely. DO NOT USE THIS GP PRACTICE. They do not care at all.... (Show more)

Absolutely awful. The receptionist are incredibly rude! They way the speak to you just puts you of booking an appointment which you can’t even get anyway. No one should register here! Worse practise I’ve ever come across! They need to change the receptionist!

Reception staff are so lovely and helpful, very understanding. Really appreciate the help they given me and my family. Some of the Drs are great and others aren't but I guess that's standad.

Poor service been with them 30 years and more reception staff are rude especially the lady with glasses Big lady… rude rude…. Going down hill there about 20 of my family including sisters and there kids registered here I think it’s time to leave now unless that receptionist goes… I mean the reviews says it all !!!!... I went to Desborough Surgery on 01/08/2022 at 17:30. The receptionist was very rude and dismissive. I suggest retraining or moving to a non customer-facing role.

Register with clinic for 5 years never had any appointments. Impossible to get appointments on a day . Any routine appointment never available. Why they paid by nhs to get people on register.

No appointment available claiming to be busy if we are the patients and we can’t get an appointment then they are busy with what ??? Rude reception staff apart from one lady don’t know her name but very helpful . Shame on all staff their
