During my vacation, I visited Maria for some skin treatments and for my husband's mole check-up. Maria was outstanding in her professionalism and knowledge. She correctly identified that my husband had a suspicious-looking mole and advised us to have it removed as soon as possible. Upon returning home, we discovered that the mole did have cancer cells, and we were fortunate to have caught it in time. As for my own treatment, she was efficient and knew precisely what was needed. She ruined my eyes with her supposedly innovative eyelid surgery. For three months now I've been running to the doctors to restore the aesthetic and functional damage it caused me. I had what looked like a possible staph infection on my upper thigh so I was concerned and wanted to have a dermatologist take a look at it but it was a Monday around 14:00 and every single place I called, including the hospital (!), said that I would need to wait until the morning - except for Dr. Maria Sifaki! She was not only open and working, but super busy. However, she made time for me since I was a tourist and nervous about my leg. Dr. Sifaki spent a lot of time with me and made sure she carefully examined me. Luckily, it turned out to be an inflamed insect bite and she told me not to worry and instead enjoy my time in lovely Crete. She prescribed some affordable, yet effective, ointment and I was good to go. I honestly feel better already and it’s only been a few hours! Zoe the receptionist/assistant was absolutely amazing as well. Upon entry, we were greeted with a friendly smile and attentive service. I can’t recommend Dr. Sifaki and Zoe enough. I'm actually reading the comments.. and wondering if I went to the same doctor... She's probably very good at aesthetic dermatology because in the clinic there's no reason... She was looking at me and waiting for me to tell her what I have... She didn't even take a light to look more extensively... while of course the therapy she gave me had made another diagnosis she made it worse.. when I went for a review she forcefully looked at me told me to stay in the room (for no reason) and told me to wait there so that her secretary would bring me the new treatment... Of course she forgot me when I went out and went to the front desk the girl was surprised.. she went to the doctor to ask her what to do and the doctor had also forgotten me.... Tragic! What else can I say, this says it all .. probably with me she was neither approachable nor the excellent scientist I see in the reviews... I lost all ideas!!!!!! They make the appointments 5 minutes apart (that's what they did when I was at least), this results in a MAJOR delay. You walk in and it just looks at you, without a special light, flashlight, etc. He is in a hurry to chase you away, to make the next date. That's what I felt. I'm an italian tourist in Heraklion. I called Doctor Sifaki on Monday 26th August and she visited me the next morning. I had two big warts. She asked me if I wanted to be treated with the lotions or with the laser (immediate but more invasive). We agreed on the laser and I got treated in 5 minutes. In Italy dermatologists ask you to come back so you pay 2 visits! Everything went perfectly. Dr Sifaki visited me again on Friday and also left me her number.
