It's a shame you only accept appointments through the phone that you never answer. Please don't wait for a bad experience and just look at the reviews.

Reception in this place is absolutely disgraceful. No concern for my sick child. The check of the woman on phone is terrible and I would advise everybody to take there kids out of this practice. My wife is in tears over the way she was treated. Ringing from 9am and they calling us liars. Horrible staff

My experience with the new doctor who works in the same cabinet where Dr. McCarthy did: 3rd of March 2023 After getting in touch with the ambulance explaining my symptoms: crucial skin and muscle pain for the last 2 days, weakness in the muscles, movements slowed down, difficulty breathing, Chest and lungs dull pain, a crushing sensation over my chest and lungs, pain in the kidneys area, fever, on 999 told me to go to the gp as it sounds serious and I might need an antibiotic. I call the GP immediately explaining the situation, a kind receptionist took my phone number and told me to wait for her call. I get a call back saying the doctor will see me. I wait in the waiting room, was the end of the programs, just one more person waiting, I was in pain and all sweaty, not looking very graciously, the doctor calls my name, we greet, I get into the cabinet, invites me to take a sit, asks me what is going on, doesn’t let me finish, fits an oxygen checking machine on my finger, takes my temperature, the thermometer showed 37.something degrees, says “you’re perfectly fine”, keep in mind: “Your body’s normal temperature is between 36 and 36.8 degrees Celsius.”, I try to tell him that all the housemates are experiencing similar symptoms but I’m the worst, he raised his voice saying “ Let’s get going because I’m busy here”, checked my throat says: “ It’s perfectly fine”, asks if I can give a urine sample, I say yes, is testing it saying it’s perfectly fine…. I’m all in pain.. his advice was: “Go home and eat plenty of ice cream.” I tell him that it feels like a need a better option of a treatment because my chest and lungs are sensitive and painful. He listened my lung through my jacket, my breathing was obviously very very very shallow compared to my breathing when I’m healthy, but didn’t make a note of it. When I mention again the housemates, he told me to take whatever medicine they took, plenty of ice-cream and maybe ibuprofen. While I was walking out the door I asked him what to do if I feel worse. He said: “ Go to a doctor.” I asked:” Which doctor?!” He said: “ Any doctor!” I sincerely tell you, this was not helpful. I was obviously in pain, he asked me one more time:”Where does it hurt”, I tell him: “ The right side of my head, goes down to the lungs, and I feel pressure on my chest.” He probably said something but all I heard was “ Nice to meet you.” and closed the door. He did not add any notes in my medical profile. If this is not a medical misconduct how would you call it?? In 36 years I haven’t had such a rushed up check up, confusing, a doctor raising his voice to me, being so vague. Today, 4th of March 2023, I still have pains in my chest and lungs, dull pain, difficulty breathing, weakness in my muscles. Yellow mucus is present in my chest. I am incapacitated and I don’t know the reason but I won’t have that ice-cream because as soon as there is cold air in the room, my chest and lungs seem to be turning into ice. May I develop bronchitis or pneumonia?! He didn’t say. Shall I avoid people because I’m contagious? He didn’t mention. Shall I stay home or go to work? Did not mention.... (Show more)

One of the worst medical professionals I've ever interacted with. Anytime I've been on the phone reception have been fine if a little cold but they're not the issue. The doctor is legitimately the rudest doctor I could imagine. After telling him multiple times and very serious issues that can not go untreated, he waved me away and put me on medication even after it was clear that was not the solution. After I had told him exactly was wrong he ignored me. Only when I begged and after months got shuffled to someone else did I get told I was exactly right. Never ever going back there.... (Show more)

I've been with this since it first opened. They have always looked after me, and I am so grateful for all their help.

Absolutely dreadful doctor. I brought my 3 year old to see him and was told she has a common cold and gave me funny looks as if to say why are u bothering me. I had to ring the doctor on call and he said she had bronchitis and was very poorly. Currently looking for a new gp. Stay clear

Oap drives 30 minutes to collect prescription told no paracetamol there is a shortage oap rings doctor, receptionist says no doctor here go buy some

Woeful surgery. Majority of the receptionists are incredibly rude and the doctor is absolutely hopeless. He lacks empathy and enthusiasm and willingness to help his patients. Lisa seems to be the only decent person down there. Trying to change surgeries for years but most others in Clondalkin are full, and it's probably because they employ decent staff.

I have experienced so much discrimination in that clinic, the first time I went there to ask the doctor to take me in as I was assigned to him, he told me that he wanted to make things straight to me before he can sign the form, he told me he is running a busy practice and that he doesn't expect to see people coming only with flu instead of buying paracetamol only the nurses who are kind and professional.... I have attended this clinic on two occasions now, once with Nurse Maureen and once with Nurse Ciara - and both are fantastic! Also the receptionists, Emma and Sarah Lou, are amazing. Very happy with the service received to date.

Dr mac carthy himself is lovely doctor. Been with him yrs. Other doctor is terrible I dread getting him as he always says there is nothing wrong with you. He is not very reassuring in some cases.. we had our daughter there Monday we thought she had sore throat he said she was fine now today we brought her to a different doctor to be told she has swollen glands and sore ears. Looking into switching surgerys... (Show more)

I was sent by my company to do premedical tests. Unfortunately I was examined by Dr. Anthony McCusker who I have to say was unkind and unprofessional. He stated that my hearing in one ear is nearly lost "at state of 60 years old" (and I am at my thirty). That really let me down as it is serious health issue. It also postpone signing contract with employer. I had to come back to the clinic other day and re-do the test. The doctor didn't find time to talk about new result. He actually asked me to wait outside near reception and after I waited several minutes surprised nurse said that I am free to go home as doctor is not here anymore. To add to the story... I spent money to visit two audiologists (one in Ireland and one in Poland) and... my hearing came very good at tests. I would like to add that both nurses and receptionist were very kind to me and made examination process as easy as possible.... (Show more)

Got botox here, paid €300, never took affect so I rang them and was told that they got a bad batch of product, they offered a top up so I went back down, still never took full affect so I may as well have flushed my money down the toilet, I'd never go back.
