Very good and nice doctors, very good therapists, great nurses on the S3, nice staff at the food distribution, I was very satisfied. Everyone had an open ear for all problems. Only the food was a disaster.

I was on ward B3 (private ward) at the Schmieder Clinic for several weeks and can therefore give myself an informed opinion. The team under chief physician Van Schayck and ward manager Abir was extremely efficient and friendly. I would like to thank everyone and will remember them fondly.

Dear blacksmiths, keep your nursing staff and train the medical staff.

This clinic is in a very nice location, the doctors were very friendly and the staff were friendly, the room was also okay after all, it's not a 5* hotel. At the beginning there were difficulties with finding the therapy rooms, but over time everything went well 👍. Unfortunately, I am still waiting today for a new place in the other clinic for further treatment. I was told that I don't have to worry about anything, everything is automatic. Everything would be organized. I even asked twice and was told that you would take care of it and get back to me. Unfortunately, I have not received an answer to date Best regards... (Show more)

Helped a lot! Everything was great.

This clinic is a complete disaster, there are hardly any treatments for the patients. Necessary infusions and other things are only carried out after repeated requests from the patient. Most of the time the patients lie in bed and doze off. You have the impression that you are in a retirement home and not in a rehabilitation clinic. The hygiene also leaves something to be desired. The IV stand - see photo always looked so dirty after 3 weeks. The food for stroke patients who cannot yet swallow is also poor - see photo. And I don't think it's necessarily hygienic that you should wash your hands with cold water in the visitor toilet in a clinic.... (Show more)

I'll summarize it briefly: a perfectly healthy person would leave here in a wheelchair.

Top clinic, top staff, everything was great. My father is in this clinic after a lot of setbacks and there are positive developments every day. The only negative is the expensive parking fees. Otherwise I have nothing to complain about. Many thanks to all employees!

My mother has been in the facility for rehab for a few weeks now. There is no criticism regarding medical care. But food is an issue right from the start. The clinic is simply unable to organize a decent meal.

Michael Miksch - a year ago - Review Provided by Google Maps

Nice employees, young, determined team, enough time for every patient, recommendations for both novice doctors and patients are completely deserved. The only complaint is that the kitchen is seen by patients (dinner) and staff (lunch) as needing improvement, but the menu aunt successfully steps in.

I would prefer not to give this a star but unfortunately I have to press a star to leave a comment - catastrophic as the doctors are - no clever information - it's disgraceful how the doctors talk to anyone, if you can reach them at all - Appointment inquiry takes place over 5 telephone calls - instead of resolving conflicts, create more conflicts such as (be happy if that were me...a chief physician, it's absurd to talk like that) not to recommend everyone should do themselves a favor We personally stopped the rehab because they don't get to the point. Instead of continuing, it gets prolonged and they just tell lies... (Show more)

Preferably no star at all. I can only advise against this rehab! My brother had a serious accident in which he suffered numerous fractures at a very young age and was therefore physically very limited. I.e. He needed a lot more help. Nevertheless, the therapies he received had relatively little to do with it. With his facial paralysis, it wasn't until weeks later that he needed therapy. When I asked if he could change his roommate, as there were much more pleasant neighbors on the ward and my brother (17) was mentally unfit, I was accused of insulting the patients and asking for the roommate's private contact details. I was so shocked that I wanted to justify myself in response to this disgusting accusation, but the doctor didn't even listen to me! On the contrary, she threatened me that I would no longer be allowed to visit my brother if I continued to talk. I stood in front of her in tears and had to apologize for such a disgusting accusation out of love for my brother!!! My brother was neither helped with cleaning nor eating (despite having trouble swallowing) nor was his discharge utensils taken care of! Do yourself/your relatives a favor and look for rehab where you will be taken seriously.... (Show more)

I was in the clinic for rehab after a stroke. I went in in a wheelchair and after three weeks I was walking again. I was on wards S1 and S3. Was more than satisfied. The nurses and therapists are all great and super nice. I can fully recommend it. However, the food can be improved...

We are disappointed and disillusioned about our mother's stay in the Schmieder Clinic in Gerlingen (Nov22 - Jan23). After a stroke, we were very happy to have received a rehabilitation place at a Schmider clinic based on recommendations from our friends. However, the statements referred to other locations. Communication between clinical staff and patients and relatives is very difficult. Our mother had a massive stroke with severe speech impairment. She depended on us. Communication with the doctors was only possible after calling them back by phone, even though we visited almost every day. After we were admitted, it took 9 days for a doctor to contact us. In some cases there were no announced callbacks, not even for urgent matters, which was very stressful. Communication with the nursing staff is very difficult due to language barriers. In our opinion, there were equally major deficits in care. We had pointed out many times that our mother got cold easily. This was ignored. She constantly had cold hands and feet and was put in a wheelchair in the winter wearing only a T-shirt. She was usually not put on wool socks in bed. On a frosty cold winter day we came into the completely chilled patient room. The window was open. Our mother only in a T-shirt. Fleece blankets that were brought along were used for storage, not for covering. The heating we had turned up was partly turned off completely. Shortly before the end of the rehabilitation, our mother suffered from severe bronchitis. One can question whether this had something to do with the constant freezing. We pointed out to a nurse that our mother didn't have her dentures in her mouth and therefore couldn't eat. He said he didn't know she even had dentures and roughly cleaned out her mouth. When we transferred her from the wheelchair to the bed, we pointed out that there was a bowel movement in the diaper. The nurse said no. Only when we insisted did he realize his mistake. The bell button was mounted on the wall, out of reach. We always moved the button to the bed and told our mother to ring the bell if she needed help. However, the button kept getting removed. The doctor's order to take our mother to the toilet was ignored by the staff. Reason: She wouldn't get in touch. This is not surprising if the doorbell button cannot be reached. The therapeutic goal of being able to get out of bed and sit in a wheelchair was initially implemented. After about 6 weeks, however, our mother was only let out in the afternoon if we specifically asked! The station management told us that she would “always” be put out. We were there almost every day and cannot confirm this. But it has to be said that there were also a few committed and sensitive nursing staff. In our opinion, these were in the minority. When we asked early about the further course of the rehabilitation, we were left in the dark for a long time. Despite the worsening condition, we were suddenly faced with a fait accompli: the rehab would end in two weeks. We should look for a foster home as quickly as possible. Discharge management was another unpleasant chapter. Great confusion when applying for a level of care and communication. In some cases, information was only made available to us immediately before the dismissal. A final consultation with a doctor, which we had asked for several times, took place at the last minute - the day before we were discharged. Due to the abundance of criticism and the lack of willingness to respond to patients and relatives, we did not have the feeling that the clinic was striving for the best for the patient. We had the impression that people were not interested in constructive criticism and feedback. Based on our experiences, we would no longer take our mother to the Schmieder Clinic in Gerlingen. From our point of view, we cannot recommend the clinic.... (Show more)

I found my stay as part of my rehab very pleasant. The therapy staff as well as the nursing staff in ward S3 were very competent, friendly and helpful. From my point of view, the clinic was fully equipped. The short-term, individual adaptation of the therapies to my personal needs was also really great. The food is always debatable but it met my needs. Thank you for a pleasant and successful time. Greetings Uwe... (Show more)

On the private ward (Haus Bärensee) the nursing staff is very friendly and helpful. Most of the doctors are friendly, except for one doctor who speaks very condescendingly to you. The individual therapies are not really discussed here. Constant change of therapies. From time to time there are communication problems here. The room is clean and nicely decorated. Unfortunately, I have to expressly say that lunch here tasted good on very few days. In my opinion, the hot food urgently needs to be improved in terms of taste and quality. The portions are very small. At dinner the selection is almost always the same. Breakfast very monotonous.... (Show more)

I was in the clinic on ward S3 for 5 weeks and am very satisfied. The nurses here always give 100%, have great patience and are super friendly. The same applies to doctors. Every wish, no matter how small, was implemented and I felt very well looked after. At the beginning I was afraid of having too few applications per day, especially because of corona etc. Luckily that wasn't the case, every day program and you can tell at any time whether it's too much or too little. The therapies themselves are tailored to your personal weak points and I think that was done very well. The therapists are just great and do a great job. A very successful stay. Thanks!... Particularly noteworthy are the exceptionally great, helpful staff and therapists. You get great professional and individual help, everyone has an open ear and they always try to find a solution to your concerns. I had the impression that the entire staff was wholeheartedly involved. Only the selection and sometimes the quality of the food does not fit into the otherwise very good overall picture....
