Dr Gareth Lewell
B.D.S (Otago) Principal Dentist. He grew up in New Zealand and graduated from The University of Otago in 2002. He moved to Melbourne in early 2003 and opened his own clinic early in the same year. Dr Lewell is a highly skilled clinician who takes pride in both technical excellence and great communication skills. He has up to date training in Implant placement and restoration for replacement of one or more missing teeth. This includes replacement of an entire arch of missing teeth using fixed crowns that look and function like natural teeth. He has extensive experience with orthodontics for all ages. He regularly treats children and teenagers with growing faces and adults looking for the perfect smile. He has treated hundreds of patients using a combination of Invisalign, fixed braces and removable plates. He has a great friendly nature and is able to put his patients at ease through a calm and thorough approach. His aim is to get to know you and help you on your journey to optimal oral health.
Mr Alvin Ng
Oral Health Therapist. He is a fun loving character and is great at both motivating our patients to keep up their home oral care and keeping your teeth and gums professionally cleaned. Alvin is very skilled and provides both a gentle thoughrough Alvin also is great with kids as he is a big kid at heart. He loves to talk about cartoon shows, computer games, Marvel comics and Lego.
Amazing professionalism and service. I recently had some cosmetic work done by Dr Gareth and the results are absolutely exceptional. I couldn’t be happier and I would highly recommend this practice.
We have been coming to Captivate for a few years and it’s time to leave a review. Great team, excellent experience all around both with booking and in the chair. Dr Gareth is exceptional. Over 20 years has performed many tricky procedures on my teeth and this week root canal with NO PAIN. He goes up and beyond all expectations Dr Belinda looks after the rest of the family with the same precision and beautiful nature. You couldn't find a better practice.
If visiting a dentist with total confidence is what you are looking for, try Dr Lewell and his team. Kind, professional and genuine, Very satisfied!
The entire team here are fantastic, with the wonderful couple (Gareth & Belinda) who run the practice both leading from the front. I've gone from dreading dentist visits all my life, to enjoying my regular appointments with Captivate Dental. What a wonderful experience with Belinda. Her Professionalism, Caring approach was exceptional. No one wants to visit the dentist at the best of times, Belinda makes you feel welcome instantly. Belinda knows exactly what she is talking about, explains everything in detail so you know what is going on. The technology today is amazing, and has come a long way. I had to see a dentist for a sore tooth, and after many years of not going to the dentist, I decided on Captivate. They fixed my tooth and now I'm back in the routine. Belinda is so funny, it's a real pleasure going to the dentist now.
This is the only dentist i go to, and the only dentist i ever want to go to. Being transgender it is so so amazing being able to go to somewhere who is extremely supportive of the entire LGBTQI+ community. I give it my transgender stamp of approval
Captivate Dental is a great practice with awesome professionals. Personal approach to all patients, the “wand” needle is painless, fillings and implants are of the highest standard (thank you Gareth) and very thorough teeth cleaning (thank you Belinda). I have been going to captivate dental since I was a teenager, now I take my kids, still very happy.
I have such an anxiety of dentists but this by far the best experience I’ve ever had, and I had a root canal. Would recommend to anyone 🥰 …
I've visited Captivate Dental since its opening and I've had only positive experiences, which keeps me coming back with confidence.
This dentist is amazing. We have seem Dr Gareth Lewell for a plate and it was so affordable and his advice is no nonsense, he only does work if it is needed he doesn't try to sell to you. Dr Teodora is also awesome she is so lovely and good at what she does my teeth alway feel so clean after she cleans them! I feel lucky to have found this dentist :)... (Show more)
A fantastic experience. Much different from other pushy dentists I have been to. Would recommend to anyone who's looking for a fair dental practice
I hate going to the dentist, but this was a painless and pleasant experience. Had a major filling replaced - will come back again for more work. The wand (local anaesthetic) is particularly worthwhile if you don't like pain!
Dr Gareth Lewell is one of the BEST dentists I ever had...and I had plenty in my life! I was one of the first patients in Germany who had porcelain crowns when they came out on the market. Germans are known for their quality work and I was concerned I wouldn't find equivalent competent dentists when I migrated to Australia 15 years ago. I've had several old fillings replaced and get my teeth cleaned and checked..lovely staff ... and fairly priced work...quality dentistry..
A friendly gentle and attentive dentist. Does a very thorough examination n will only recommend what is necessary to be done. Takes time to explain issues so you clearly understand what needs to be done n why. Clean n not messy during the procedure with efficient n pleasant assistant provides a great teamwork together. Great to have your personal dentist n not being shoved around to different dentists in group dental places. Very satisfied.... (Show more)
Anybody can rave about how good their dentist is, but I previously went to another place in East Bentleigh (that has a big profile) and the difference is just chalk and cheese. All the equipment is new, the reception area is spotless, the staff are super friendly but what really makes the difference is that that Gareth actually explains what he's doing and the entire process instead of treating you like a child. Everytime I go, I understand exactly what work is being performed and that makes a world of difference to me. The price premium is worth it!... (Show more)
I chose Captivate Dental as they offer 'The Wand' needle at a reasonable price. I was holding back from going to the dentist for so long. The experience today was very pleasant for me. From start to finish a professional, friendly, wonderful, stress free experience. I didn't feel the needle at all. I feel fantastic knowing I have overcome my fears with the needle.
