He is a European board-certified plastic surgeon. He is an internationally renowned expert in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. After graduating with First-Class Honors from Medical Faculty of Ljubljana, Slovenia, EU, he completed a distinguished six-year plastic surgery residency program at University Medical Centre Ljubljana and was later granted a prestigious sub-specialty fellowship in microsurgery in Leeds, England, UK. He regularly publishes in professional journals and contributes to plastic surgery meetings as a speaker. He has been promoted to PhD for his original research work in microsurgery. Before accepting a permanent senior position in Kuwait, he a consultant post at University Medical Centre Ljubljana focusing on complex reconstructive cases. He led specialized surgical services for breast reconstruction, brachial plexus injuries and facial paralysis. He trains junior surgeons and is a respected teacher. He is also a co-founder and medical director of the private esthetic surgery clinic Zorman-Repez. He is among region’s finest plastic surgeons delivering safe and exceptional results. He is an expert in a full range of facial rejuvenation, body contouring and breast surgery procedures.

He received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry at Duke University, and received his Doctor of Medicine Degree at Duke University Medical Center. He completed his fellowship training in Cornea and External diseases, and in Ocular Immunology, in 1977. Dr. Foster was then invited to join the full-time faculty of the Department of Ophthalmology of Harvard Medical School, where he was a member of the Cornea Service and Director of the Residency Training Program at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. He began his independent research in 1977, and has been continuously funded by grants from the National Institutes of Health ever since. After 30 years on the full time faculty of Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, he established his own private practice – The Massachusetts Eye Research and Surgery Institution, a state of the art 12,000 square foot practice with its own chemotherapy infusion suite and phlebotomy lab. Dr. Foster continues to direct a research laboratory at the Massachusetts Eye Research and Surgery Institution (MERSI), through the support of his newly created research foundation, the Ocular Immunology and Uveitis Foundation, and continues his teaching activities and training fellows as a Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Foster has authored over 600 published papers, five textbooks, and been selected as one of the Best Doctors in America by American Health Magazine. He has also been selected as one of Americas Top Doctors on several occasions, as well as one of Americas Top Ophthalmologists by the Consumer Research Council of America.
