I've had the pleasure of being entitled to the services offered by Bedminster Family Practice for 24 years. The online referral form is easy and straightforward with quick responses. The diligence and efficacy is no doubt challenged due to the high demands currently presented by the local area and patient capacity but it is safe to say the detective work of the practice staff should not be undermined. Emphasis on their abilities of seeking to help, cure, remediate, and be of assistance to a better, healthier future for all patients. A truly outstanding practice since moving from Dean Lane in 2002 and henceforth the current day practice they are, with artwork incorporated to give a welcoming effect. Outstanding patient navigators, Dietitians, Nurses, GP's and Pharmacists. Would highly recommend.... (Show more)
Sent online form off which included symptoms of pins and needles in left hand and pain radiating from shoulder down arm. Triaged apparently and a pharmacist is gonna call. Rang to complain and got told to call 111. What's the bloody point of a GP practice that you can't go to! Spoken to 111, the pins and needles/numbness are a cause for concern and need investigation. Not by Bedminster GP's though... (Show more)
I made a telephone appointment online which was easy to do and then made an in person appointment with the doctor who called me as he thought I needed to be seen. The receptionist and the doctor were both friendly and professional. Excellent service.
Dreadful receptionist. Thinks she knows better than the GPs. I was told by 111 and an online GP that my condition was urgent but the receptionist doesn’t agree so I didn’t get an appointment.
The last two prescriptions the surgery have sent to my online pharmacy Lloyds Direct have been wrong. In the first instance the quantity prescribed was half what it should have been and the second prescription had the wrong dosage for the tablets. Not only is this very inconvenient meaning that I have to go to the trouble of going through all the rigmarole to contact the surgery to get the mistakes rectified but worryingly that insufficient attention is being paid to get these details correct in the first place. In my case this isn't such an issue other than the aggravation but for other patients with critical needs these specific details could be vital and to get even the basics wrong is simply not good enough. There needs to be more checks before prescriptions are sent out.... (Show more)
I have been with Bedminster family practice for 41 years and it is the worst surgery. They have lost my samples twice, you can never get an appointment even though the surgery is always empty and they are always late. I was told by a doctor that there was no way I had a particular condition, I pushed to get reffered to the hospital and was diagnosed and have since had surgery to remove it. My daughter amazingly got an appointment today, I left home 30 minutes before my appointment (it takes 5/10 mins maximum to get there). I was stuck in traffic by Asda for over 15 minutes due to the works going on and the temporary traffic lights not working and cars trying to get through both ways. I phoned the surgery (that took forever to get through) and they said I have a 10 minute grace period. I made it to the surgery 7 minutes late but I was behind others, when I got to the front it was exactly 10 minutes but the receptionist said no because I didn't arrive at her desk before 10 minutes, despite being in the surgery. She called the nurse but didn't explain I was in there before the 10 minutes and the nurse said no. I wish there was more I could do than write a 1 star review.... (Show more)
Waiting times seriously reduced. Assistants are more nice. Nurses, Dr are listening. It's like before pandemic.
Compared with the GP I had before (Stoke Gifford), this place is light years better. Can submit a request at any time of the day (at SG it had to be pre-12pm), and they'll get back to you on the same day. When I get an appointment - whether phone or in-person - it's been for the same or next day. Really pleased with this place. I've seen people complaining about phoning up, I'd recommend just going on the website and doing it that way, takes a few minutes and they'll always get back quickly.... (Show more)
First time visiting the practice in person, I’ve had telephone appointments before with Dr Boulton and Dr Rowbern and they’ve both been fantastic and I saw lead nurse Louise White today and she was absolutely lovely and very helpful. The waiting room and treatment room were both very clean and comfortable, appointment started right on time and I was in and out in about 15 minutes including wait time. It’s really a shame the practice get so many negative reviews, all my experiences have been great and I think the staff deserves more recognition for the work they do. Five stars from me.... I don't want to do a disservice to the good staff here and I want to stress there are some fantastic people at this surgery. However unfortunately I can't not mention the poor service I've received from one of the receptionists. Any time I've attended in person I've been told to remove my mask, saying they couldn't understand what I was saying and that I don't need to bother with masks anymore, in a medical setting? Patients could have been really affected by or be high risk or not want to risk compromising their health with covid and to receive this kind of response to me simply wearing a mask as I walk into the reception area is really not okay, especially in a medical setting. Often this same receptionist confuses the questions asked and then eventually ends up rude if asked too many times. This response can be very distressing for the person trying to receive help. I'm saddened by the lack of precautions taken to keep the practice safe from a sars virus. It makes a lot of us not feel safe attending. I want to stress though that there are some fantastic doctors and receptionists here and understand that people are working under impossible pressure in the current climate. But after enough repeat bad experiences with a few members, and not feeling safe to attend an in person appointment I feel I have to raise it.... (Show more)
Disgraceful. They got rid of phone system and appointments can only be made online so, if you are throwing up or feeling dizzy or having a panic attack you have to compose yourself, get to a device between specific hours, focus, read and answer plenty of questions and if you cannot do this and ring your GP they advise you to call 111. Considering there are many different circumstances, it would be considerate giving choices, this can be a good system and definitely has its pros, however it is not for all. On the top of this, most of the staff have zero empathy.... (Show more)
I have really appreciated the move to booking online and have been impressed by the speed of response to my queries. Much better!
The most traumatic doctor appointment ever! I’ve arrived to the appointment 20min late with my 13m old boy who’s been unwell for a week now. I was very grateful doctor Patel still agreed to see us. Dr. Patel seams very annoyed that she have to see us. My little boy got scared as she was super unfriendly and wouldn’t bother to get any interaction with the baby. She just went straight to exam his chest, completely ignoring the poor boy was frightened by her. She came across super frustrated that the boy is clinging to my arms. She then told me to hold him tight so she can check his ears. I’ve asked if she can give me a second to calm him down as this was very unusual for him to be soo scared. So told me she has no time and just push through with the examination completely ignoring the poor screaming baby. She then quickly proscribed new antibiotics and couldn’t wait to get rid of us. When I tried to ask some questions she very dismissively opened the door to show me is time to leave. Dr.Patel I would strongly recommend to consider changing career-a path as you definitely have no people skills and taking care of your patients is not something you’re interested in.... (Show more)
Never get through u tell the doctor the problem he googles it lol trying to phone in is the worst worst thrn dmv
Joined this surgery when we moved to the area a few months ago and they have been great! Very empathetic doctors and my issues have always been taken seriously. Thanks!
Absolutely shocking behaviour of the eye screening staff I believe recently GP start eye scanning services but the female staff was absolutely disrespectful towards me while I was sitting front of her GP must change the staff because I couldn’t even sit Very stressful atmosphere I walk away without having eye screen test done.
Absolutely ridiculous! Arrived 5 minutes early for the appointment and was waiting over an hour only for the receptionist to say id been called out already which it wasnt and therefore the appintment needs to be rearranged Shocking customer service
Needed motivated people. Had enough from unhappy lazy people. Better you get an other job then
Absolutely great medical staff, but totally incompetent management. Even just 1 extra receptionist would make so much difference.
Highly reputed! Honestly, staff are wonderful and emit so much care and passion for their role. From reception to nurses, doctors and everyone in between from my experience on the phone and in person, they have been so polite, warm and patient with me. Considering the amount of pressure/hours they work they're doing amazing and I cannot commend how friendly and helpful they have been. Very much appreciated! Thank you for keeping the surgery clean, being welcoming and attentive to patient concerns! ✨... (Show more)
