Dr Steven J. Nielsen
D.D.S.: University of Minnesota School of Dentistry General Practice Internship: West Virginia University Memberships: American Dental Association, Minnesota Dental Association, Minneapolis District Dental Society, West Virginia Association of Hospital Dentists, American Academy of Implant Dentistry, Minnesota Implant Study Club, Northside Study Club About Dr. Nielsen Dr. Nielsen completed his pre-dental studies at Gustavus Adolphus College and earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Minnesota in 1971. He continued his formal training in a General Practice Internship at the University Of West Virginia School Of Dentistry. Dr. Nielsen has practiced dentistry at Bassett Creek Dental since 1974. He presently serves on the Peer Review Committee of the Minneapolis District Dental Society. He has also been a member of the Golden Valley Lions Club since 1973 and has served as the club's president. Dr. Nielsen is originally from Golden Valley and currently resides in Orono. His wife, Joan, is a self-employed dietitian consultant. The Nielsen’s have two daughters, Stephanie and Lindsay. Dr. Stephanie practices dentistry in Houston, Texas, while Lindsay practices law in New York City. Dr. Nielsen enjoys spending time with his 5 granddaughters in Texas and Connecticut.

Todd T. Tsuchiya, D.D.S. D.D.S.: University of Minnesota School of Dentistry General Practice Residency: University of Chicago; Assistant Director, General Practice Residency, University of Chicago Memberships: American Dental Association, Minnesota Dental Association, Minneapolis District Dental Society, Northside Study Club, Academy of Osseointegration About Dr. Tsuchiya Dr. Tsuchiya received a B.S. degree in Economics from the University of Minnesota and earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Minnesota in 1987. He continued his formal training in a General Practice Residency at the University of Chicago Medical Center. While at the University of Chicago, Dr. Tsuchiya was also a Clinical Instructor of Dentistry and served as Assistant Director of the residency program. Dr. Tsuchiya has also been a part time instructor at the University of Minnesota, School of Dentistry for 12 years. Dr. Tsuchiya has been with Bassett Creek Dental since January, 1990. He is a former Treasurer/Officer of the Minnesota Dental Association and Minneapolis District Dental Society and still serves on several committees within these organizations.
Dr Shari K. Bruning
D.D.S.: University of Minnesota School of Dentistry General Practice Residency: Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Chicago, Illinois Memberships: American Dental Association, Minnesota Dental Association, Minneapolis District Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry, Northside Study Club and Academy of Computerized Dentistry About Dr. Bruning Dr. Bruning attended Northwestern University for her pre-dental education and obtained a B.A. in psychology. In 1991, she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Minnesota. She then returned to Chicago to continue formal training in the General Practice Residency at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Dr. Bruning joined Bassett Creek Dental in October, 1994. Dr. Bruning is a member of the American Dental Association, Minnesota Dental Association, Minneapolis District Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry, Northside Dental Study Club and the Academy of Computerized Dentistry.
Basset Creek Dental is Delicious. We shopped around for a new dentist and Dr. Wesley at Basset Creek Dental is the winner.
I have been a patient at Bassett Creek for several years and I am always impressed by the professionalism and quality of the care I receive. Dr. Mahabadi and her team are wonderful and I am grateful to have access to such great care!
I used to love this place until they said my insurance covered my cleaning and then informed me after my cleaning that they in fact couldn’t take my insurance. Now I have a $450 bill from 3 years ago I still can’t pay for because I wouldn’t have gone in if it didn’t cover the appointment because I’m on the poverty line. No one will work with me on this and I’ve called multiple times before and only got attitude and being blamed for “not updating my insurance with them” even tho I did. Here they removed 2 wisdom teeth, the work was excellent and I had a very good experience with the staff and doctors at this dental clinic. Special thanks to Dr. Avendano and Dr. Mahabadi for their support in this process.

You guys are very thorough and I love the savings plan. Don't like the mouth piece used for suctioning off water. Made my mouth sore.
I've been a longstanding patient of BCD, specifically Dr. Bruning. I continue to be impressed by the quality of dental care I have received through the years. From the hygienists to the dental assistants to the dentists, everyone is very focused on providing quality care and excellent customer/patient service. From time to time I've needed to be seen in an emergency situation, and BCD has always made the time for me. I highly recommend this practice.... (Show more)
When I called I got in very quickly. When I got there I barely sat down when they called me back. Everyone is so friendly and explains everything very well!
Dr Bruning at Bassett Creek Dental Office is superb! She has a fabulous disposition and is also a great dentist! The dental hygienists there are also amazing, I moved here from Chicago and I was so lucky to find this office!!!

Great dentist, great service, latest equipment and procedures
We have always had a great experience at Bassett Creek Dental. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a Dentist. The staff is friendly, kind and helpful. Our whole family feels comfortable including my kids. Dr Mahabadi is fantastic! She is so good with my kids, they always look forward to going to the dentist.
I have been going to Basset Creek Dental for a few years now and every time I have a great experience. The dentists and hygienists are always helpful and listen attentively. I enjoy every appointment I have with Dr. Mahabadi! She is the best!

As a new patient to Bassett Creek Dental I was so pleased with how professional and nice everyone was They make you feel very comfortable. Dr Wesley was simply fantastic. I will definitely keep my business there. I can't recommend Bassett Creek Dental highly enough.
I am a new patient who needed emergency appointment (broken tooth) and Dr. Steele exceeded my expectations! He was informative, friendly, and did a great job fixing my tooth. My second visit was with the Hygienist Jenna and she did a great job too! I was referred to them by a person I trust and decided to switch from my previous dentist.
Always the best experience possible provided in an extremely profesdional manner.
I called Saturday morning with a dental emergency and they got me in more than 2 hours later. The Dental Assistant made me feel so at ease and talked me through my nervousness. Laid out a clear plan of what I should do next. I will definitely be going back to them from now on
