I did Emdr with In Bangkok and they are fine but when I left the city I start to do EMDR online and had better results.

Chawisa Chartsuwan at Bangkok Counselling helped me beyond compare. I'm a combat veteran with severe PTSD. While living in Thailand, and doing volunteer work for a Thai NGO, I began having PTSD related problems. I researched the therapist extensively because I could not afford to get help unless it was equal to or better therapy than I could get in the USA. I also needed a therapist who is fluent in English. I couldn't have found a better therapist, than Chawisa Chartsuwan, anywhere on earth. I continued in therapy there for several years and gained considerable skills to cope with PTSD (and related symptoms). I was even able to make a return therapeutic re-exposure trip to Vietnam because of the therapy I had received. For the first time (in many years of therapy) I now look forward to getting help at Bangkok Counselling Service again when I return to Thailand (after the Covid-19 Pandemic). My hope is that they have appointments available. I highly recommend therapy at Bangkok Counseling Services.... (Show more)

I contacted the Bangkok Counselling Service to get help to address some repeating behaviour I want to stop. It's overthinking things to the point where I believe disaster will happen. I met with Mr Don who was very supportive he was interested in my experience and actually listened. I'm not sure anyone has ever done that before. On leaving I noticed the clinic was private yet homely and near to the Skytrain station. I have signed up for 6 more sessions.... (Show more)

I was very pleased with the service and paid, as advertised, 2000 baht for a couples assessment session. Following the initial consultation, my wife and I have signed up to 6 sessions. We have already noticed an improvement in our communication and renewed energy for staying together and working out the difficulties.

Don moved to Thailand in 2008 and set up Bangkok Counselling Service after noticing the lack of accessible therapeutic services while visiting friends. “A friend asked me to help find them a therapist while I was in Bangkok and I thought it would be easy to find a practitioner such a big city. Through the research I did, I realized that services like Bangkok Counselling Service didn’t exist. I didn’t consider setting up a practice until a rainy afternoon six months later in London. Little did I know at the time, just how much work setting up a business in Thailand would be, every thing worked out and BCS was successfully established and was the first counselling and psychotherapy practice in Thailand registered with the department of Labor. Don, originally from Ireland moved to Bangkok from London, where he had a successful private practice, in addition to working part time for the Terrence Higgins Trust (THT) the UK’s largest HIV and sexual health charity /NGO. Don joined THT in 2000 to set up their young people’s counselling service where he continued as the young people’s counsellor for 8 years. In 2002 THT received the BACP award for innovative work for the development of the young people’s counselling service.
