I am passionate about helping people feel confident and look their best. As a child, I loved playing beauticians and as a teenager I was always the one who volunteered to paint my friends’ nails and apply face packs for them. Beauty continued to be my hobby until I began professional training in 2004. After working in salons across Derbyshire, I knew I was ready to follow my dream to run my own beauty business. At first, I ran a licensed beauty business from my Derbyshire home, delivering a wide range of beauty services. Talking to my clients I realised that unwanted hair was a major misery for many of them and they longed to find a safe, effective solution that saved them time in their busy lives. My research convinced me that the award-winning Lumenis company offered the gold standard in laser hair removal. I also learned that laser technology could treat dozens of skin conditions. Avance Clinic moved to new premises in Littleover in 2019 and I put together a team of highly-skilled professionals to deliver an expanded range of laser skin treatments to more women and men. I am married to Matt and we have one daughter.
I've been going to Carly for years. I would recommend her to anyone and wouldn't go anywhere else. She's professional, knows what she's talking about, caring and funny.
As per reviews below. Treatment commenced I paid over £2800 for a treatment package. After a mess up at the clinic where my beautician was not there for my appointment I suffered a bad treatment session with a differnt lady on a different machine. I suffered extreme pain and treatment was aborted. I was advised to wait until summer tan was completely gone. Upon attempting to rebook Carly was working reduced hours which made it difficult to book. Upon trying to rebook I got ignored only to be told I am out of time for treatment. This is NOT in the terms and conditions and not what was individually discussed for a treatment which in itself is ongoing for over 12months and was discussed prior to paying. I will be seeking legal advice. Anyone without terms and conditions is welcome to pm me for a copy. Avoid this clinic for packages. Once she has your money she is not interested.... (Show more)
Initially a good service, welcoming clinic. Sarah was brilliant therapist and very knowledgeable. Unfortunately I purchased a laser hair removal package and spent just shy of £1000. I only managed 2 appointments, with Covid hitting the country leaving the salon closed for a long period, Sarah left and it was difficult to get an appointment due to shift work commitments. Eventually I was told by the business owner that my package had now 'timed out' and if I wanted an appointment I would have to pay again! She claimed this was in the terms and conditions however when I asked for a copy of these conditions or the paperwork I signed at the beginning of signing up to the package; I was simply ignored. This was request was made more than once, but still ignored. After no contact and in my opinion poor customer service. The business was closed during covid, had some bad press in the local news with a customer receiving an injury after treatment and despite the support of customers wanting to continue to attend, the business owner chose to take my money without providing a service that I had paid for in good faith. If I could this company 0 stars, I would. I some visible blood vessels & facial redness. Carly constantly reassured me that 6 sessions would completely erase the visibility of redness and blood vessels. After paying for 3 sessions, I received a blunt text saying “can’t help you anymore” and BLOCKED ME! Despite Carly telling me every session, if I didn’t see a difference, I would be given a free next session, however, this never happened, and was given a lame excuse everytime, for example, I needed a better skincare routine, apparently. In regards to the actual sessions, they felt extremely rushed (in and out in 5/10 mins). And felt like a complete inconvenience the whole time of the sessions, like she had better things to do whilst I was there, and wanted me out the door as soon as I got out the chair. Throughout the sessions, there were times that my partner and I felt very uncomfortable, asking us many personal and private questions, that were completely unprofessional to ask a client, as well as the constant mockery (if I felt the slightest bit of pain in the treatment, and that I was a man, seeking cosmetic treatment, Carly would make a point about it). Carly is absolutely amazing at what she does. I have had 6 sessions of laser hair removal for my underarms and the difference is insane. I used to have to shave everyday because my hair grew so quickly and now I hardly ever need to. There are no more dark patches either which I love and the skin is so smooth. I would never go anywhere else as Carly is so friendly and gives you invaluable advice. She definitely knows what she is doing and to be able to pay as you go without a higher price tag attached is amazing. I 100% recommend Avance Clinic.... (Show more)

I have had sun damage/pigmentation on my face for years and I was starting to feel like it was really aging me, a friend had mentioned Avance Clinic so I looked it up and made an appointment on line for a consultation. Carly was very easy to talk to and answered all my questions, and was very knowledgeable so I instantly felt at ease. I had a skin test and booked in for the treatment. I’m so happy to say that my skin looks so much clearer and my concern areas have faded away, I’ve also had compliments that my skin look fresh! Thank you Carly… very satisfied client here.... I’ve recently completed my 6th session with Carly, and I wish I did this years ago! The results from laser is amazing and has boosted my confidence with areas I’ve been self conscious about for years. Carly is also amazing during the experience, she’s very knowledgable about the whole process and makes you feel very relaxed - even whilst working on intimate areas. I visited this clinic for the first time back in August after speaking to a member of the team via Instagram. My concern was regarding a patch of discolouration on both my shins (hemosiderin staining) due to an injury I had a couple of years ago. Having done my research and speaking to other clinics, I was told that this could be tackled via laser treatment. The main reason why I hadn’t visited any of the other clinics is solely due to the fact that they’re located over 3 hours away and I really didn’t have the time for the commute. I reached out to Avance because they offered the exact treatment and type of laser I was after. After being told they could look into this for me, I booked an appointment. I turned up 5 minutes early to my appointment and was made to wait an extra 10 minutes over the time I was supposed to be seen. No big deal. Things happen. My consultation with Carly wasn’t pleasant at all. I was basically ridiculed for voicing my concerns and was told “these things won’t matter once you’re married”. What exactly is the point of working in the cosmetic industry then if these things clearly “don’t matter”? I was made to feel like an inconvenience the entire appointment and the whole thing just seemed rushed. I literally felt like I was in the way the entire time. Constantly being reminded how the pigmentation is such a “minor issue”. Highly unprofessional behaviour. My second appointment felt even more rushed than the first one. Again, I turn up a few minutes early and the owner completely ignores me. I’m sat there waiting whilst she is catering to another patient (in the reception area). We’ve gone 10 minutes over at this point until I’m finally acknowledged. I am made to feel like an inconvenience throughout the entire appointment once again. It’s a huge shame because I actually saw a reduction in the pigmented patches after my first appointment. A third appointment had been booked but unlike the first and second appointment, I wasn’t given any SMS reminder for this at all. I later realised that I had missed my appointment. Maybe it was for the best. A reminder would have been nice though. I assume this was probably because no pre-payment was made during my second session (unlike the first two sessions) so maybe the owner was hoping that I wouldn’t return and ‘waste’ her time? 1 star for the fact that the treatment did seem to help and another star for the fact that the lady in reception was lovely.... Before starting this journey I have done a lot of research and I am so happy I found this clinic in Derby. I started my laser hair removal treatments 6 months ago and the results I have so far are unbelievable. Lana is very knowledgeable and professional, she explains everything (knows everything about laser hair removal) and is very patient with me during the treatment. Finding Avance clinic has been one of the best things that happened to me this year. I am an frican lady with very stubborn dark marks on my face and have been looking for clinics that performs laser skin treatment on african skin, I have gone to many clinics in the uk but I get rejected because they do not have experience with my skin type. luckily for me that was not the case with Avance clinic, they welcomed me with open arms and took the challenge, I have been undergoing q switched laser treatment and I must say they are the best. The care and attention I received is unbeatable, clean enviroment and very attentive staff. I have started seeing results after 4 treatmenst and can not wait to finish the whole treatment and get the final results, thank you so much Avance clinic for waking up my self confidence and making me a new woman.... I couldn’t praise these ladies enough, their lovely, energetic and make you feel more than welcome. I’ve had laser hair removal and thread vein removal on my nose and cheeks, The results for me where instant, I was absolutely amazed and beyond happy with my treatments. The prices are fantastic and the treatments are explained to you in a professional manner and followed through in the same way, with after-care advice provided.
