Terrible experience. I paid £7000. Dr. Anthony not only misunderstood the instructions and performed the surgery poorly, but also did not offer an appropriate postoperative procedure! Spire Hospital offered corrective surgery for free with another surgeon, but I decided to have surgery at another hospital. This surgeon performed inappropriate and illegal practices on a hiv negative patient! This hospital said only 'sorry' for allowing hiv positive doctor to perform surgery!... (Show more)

I had a lower blepharoplasty performed by Anthony MacQuillian back in September of last year (2021) and I am so pleased with the results. The pre-op and post-op consultations and care were brilliant and I didn't feel any pain at all during, or after, the procedure. I've attached one 'pre-op' and two 'post-op' photos to illustrate the amazing improvement that Anthony's work has made upon the are underneath my eyes and mid face. I had always felt self-conscious about the eyebags and dark circles under my eyes and Anthony ingeniously not only managed to make the eyebags/sagging skin underneath the eyes vanish but also performed a skin graft during the same operation, injecting that as filler into the skin underneath my eyes which has alleviated the darkness of the undereye circles dramatically so that now they are barely noticeable - even without under-eye make up. It's been 6 months since the procedure and they continue to improve. I am so pleased with the amazing transformation that Anthony MacQuillan has managed to make on my appearance and it has given me a lot more confidence now too. After suffering with extremely large breasts since my early 20's and suffering from severe back pain. I decided to JUST research breast reduction. However, after my first consultation with Mr MacQuillan I felt so confident, he answered all my questions and concerns I had and completely put my mind at ease. All risks were fully explained to me, but I was reassured throughout and I immediately decided to proceed. My only regret is that I did not have breast reduction 30 years sooner. I underwent a breast reduction by Anthony at St Josephs Hospital in Newport. It had taken me some time to come to the decision to look into this surgery as I was very nervous but Anthony ensured that I understood every part of the process before finally making my decision to proceed. I am now 4 months post op with a full tummy tuck and muscle repair carried out by Anthony Macquillen and his team at Sulis Hospital Bath (formally The Circle). From the first telephone conversation with his PA Amanda, through to my 10 week check up, everything has been wonderful and worth every single penny. Anthony has a Fantastic bedside manor and ensures that you are fully informed before anything happens. My initial consultation lasted around an hour as I was originally just considering the tummy tuck. I wanted some more information on a breast lift to see if I wanted to go ahead with that too. This was carried out at a separate 1 hour appointment as Anthony didn’t want to overload me with information. I felt that I could have had as many appointments with him as I needed before I made my decision, but as it stood, I’d been researching the procedure for 11 years after having my first child and felt informed enough that it was just a case of booking my surgery date…which I did as soon as I returned home after first meeting him! I arrived at the Sulis on the morning of my procedure at 7am and by 8.30am I had been admitted, seen my Anaesthetist (also lovely) to discuss medication and been marked up by Anthony and taken down to theatre! Next thing I remember I was awake in recovery. I felt very comfortable with no pain (which was great as I’ve had a few previous abdominal (Gynaecological) surgeries and have woken up extremely uncomfortable. This time I was just looking forward to my lunch! My private room was lovely and all the nursing staff were great. The food was fantastic and my medication was given in a timely manor and I didn’t ever feel uncomfortable or in pain. I stayed two nights before being discharged home with all of the medication I needed to fully recover in comfort. I saw Michelle, Anthony’s personal nurse regularly for all dressing changes and again, she is wonderful and nothing is too much trouble and no question or worry is too silly. I saw Anthony a couple of times up to ten weeks and I am ecstatic with my results so far. It’s definitely a process and not a decision to be taken lightly. It isn’t by any means a quick fix and the swelling rollercoaster lasts around a year and isn’t fun at all. I am so excited to see my results in a few months when I am fully healed. However I currently look as good as I did when I was in my late teens so it can only get better right! Chose Anthony. You will not be disappointed!... (Show more)

I met Anthony Macquillan about 2 years ago to have a quick one to one because I kept being turned away from other places because of my BMI , by a Number , and not for the human being that I am. So I met with him and he had a quick run through with me about my lifestyle and why I wanted the surgery and if i would be suitable, from that moment I knew that whenever I could afford the procedure he would deffinatly without a doubt be my surgeon ! He is so caring and friendly with no side agenda but getting you the results you want ! Anyway the time came that I could afford it and so I had my consultation and everything was explained in detail but understandable. I was over the moon, So then LockDown came!! Surgery was soon... Yes I had to be left alone in hospital no visitors ... but did I feel alone , Never ! Lucy & Anthony were there when no one else could be !! With all surgery’s come with minor complications along the way. 1 in every 5000 or something, Oh yes that would be me ! After 5 days I was back in and they welcomed me back with caring open arms !! I was scared and afraid they held my hand all the way through and Deffinatly Lucy helped wipe away all the tears !! I cannot thank Anthony & Lucy Enough for the Emotional Support alone that they provided !! And to say about the Results .... Well I think Mr Macquillan deserves a Medal ! I no longer look like a melted Candle ! Also now I can run up the stairs without clapping ! He really has changed my life ! I cannot recommend his & Lucy’s services enough He is an amazing guy !! Dr MacQuillan was amazing i had a few consultations but i knew he was the right surgeon from the start he made me feel so comfortable and i felt i was really looked after. I would recommend him to everyone.

I have been fortunate enough to see Mr Anthony MacQuillan in his capacity as a peripheral nerve surgeon and would like to comment on whole experience from start to finish - I apologise in advance for length of review but I want to make sure every aspect of the whole experience is captured as otherwise I would be doing this review a disservice - exceptional is not a word I use a lot but the whole experience has been nothing less that just that. As someone who has suffered from increasing migraines over the last 7 years I visited Mr MacQuillan with only a faint hope after seeing numerous other consultants with little or no success. From start to finish the experience has been nothing short of outstanding and I can only wish I had been pointed in the direction of Mr Anthony MacQuillan many years ago. During consultation I was always given as much information as was available in an honest and open manner - I was never led to believe something was possible that clearly wasn’t and my treatment was done in a staged manner to avoid unnecessary cost, time or promise something that wasn’t deliverable. The communication both in consultations and with all clinic staff was amazing - nothing was too much trouble and I have nothing but praise for everyone that I spoke to but it would be remiss not to give a special mention to Lucy who was absolutely outstanding and provided the link that really made me feel like I was being treated as a person rather than just a patient. I have needed two separate surgeries to resolve my headaches that have both more than exceeded my expectations to the point that the first one was such a success I booked the second one the day after I came out of hospital and after 7 years where the headaches had gotten to point I had genuinely considered retirement I am now able to wake up normally and pain free and that’s solely down to to Mr MacQuillan and his amazing staff. And for reference to anyone seeing Mr MacQuillan in any other capacity I am just as happy to say his handiwork surgery wise has left me with the smallest/neatest scars I have ever had - I really cannot recommend him and the clinic highly enough - it really isn’t an exaggeration to say they have given me my life back and I can promise you that if you are debating seeing him and in the “should I/ shouldn’t I” state of mind then go for it as you will not be disappointed!... I met with Mr MacQuillan back in July, via a virtual consultation and I knew straight away that I he was the right surgeon for me. He genuinely listened to my thoughts and what I wanted to achieve from my surgery (breast augmentation). Even though I had been researching the procedure for years, he gave me a lot of information which was really important in my decision making. I have wanted this surgery for 10 years but lacked in the confidence to actually go through with it, until I met Mr MacQuillan. I truly believed that he wanted the best for me, that helped me make the decision to go forward with the procedure even though I was very nervous about the op and the recovery. I chose to go to the Only You Clinic at St Joesphs hospital in Newport, it is a lovely hospital very bright and airy and the staff were very friendly. On the day of the operation, I was welcomed warmly into the hospital, my Husband couldn't come in with me due to Covid-19 but I was taken good care of from the minute I stepped through the door. I was given a lovely little room prior to my op and didn't have to wait long before I was called into theatre, although I was very nervous, I felt safe. After coming round from my op, I was instantly put at ease by the nurses reassuring me that all went well, Mr MacQullan came to check on me too and was happy with how things had gone....I was on cloud 9! The results were amazing and finally the last 10 years of having no confidence had gone! The weeks after the recovery were slow but I was reassured that I could call or see Mr MacQuillan if ever I was worried about something, which I did a couple of times and I was put at ease that things were healing well and all was normal. All in all, the whole experience was a great one and I'm just sad that I didn't find Mr MacQuillan sooner! I'd also like to give a shout out to Lucy, Mr MacQuillans assistant, she was absolutely amazing, one of the nicest people I've ever met! We spoke and emailed many times and nothing was ever too much trouble. She was also there to greet me on the day of the op and all my follow ups. I actually felt like she was a friend with the way she treated me, a genuinely lovely person so thank you, because you were a major part of why my experience was so great! I first meet Dr MacQuillan in October 2020 to discuss having abdominal surgery (tummy tuck), Anthony was lovely, but don’t get me wrong, he frightened the poo out of me with all the things that could go wrong, explaining the procedure, any complications that could happen but at the same time reassured me that everything would be ok and I’d get the result I wanted. I opted for surgery after losing 4 stone in weight and attending the gym 3/4 times a week, nothing could get rid of the overhang of skin I had. Once I’d made the decision to have surgery and agreeing on a date (12th December) everything was plain sailing with Anthony and his team, from booking in for my COVID test to going into the hospital for surgery, to being put under and the recovery process. From Anthony himself, Dan (anaesthetist), Michele (specialist nurse), to the ward staff, catering staff, everyone was kind, caring and nothing was too much trouble. I was seen every week or 2 weeks after surgery for dressing changes, Michele was at the end of the phone for reassurance when I needed it. Amazing team that I couldn’t recommend highly enough. I cannot recommend Anthony more highly, the thorough consultation covered everything for both myself and my wife and allayed some of our fears. We both had procedures earlier this year and the results have taken years off us, however my wife was looking at a picture of me one day and said I didn't look much different until I pointed out the picture was fifteen years old!
