Keratoconus Treatment at Accuvision London Background In early 2018, I noticed subtle changes in my left eye. I was constantly cleaning my glasses, fine visual detail was diminishing, and I was having headaches after looking at any screen. I thought I had a change in my prescription; therefore, I visited my optometrist. After mentioning my symptoms and the optometrist failing to correct my vision, they investigated for other causes and noticed a change in the shape of my cornea. By March 2018, I was referred to the NHS ophthalmology department, where I was formerly diagnosed with keratoconus, and began trialling hard lenses to correct the vision in my left eye. It became apparent within the first few months that my disease was progressing rapidly; therefore, I was put on the waiting list for crosslinking eye surgery for my left eye. The NHS waiting list for several years, so I looked into private options and found Accuvision in late Autumn 2018. How Accuvision have helped Once at Accusvision, I was seen within the week, and the scans at their practice in Parsons Green confirmed the diagnosis of keratoconus in my left eye and revealed a new diagnosis of early keratoconus in my right eye. With the ophthalmologists at Accuvision, we decided to do bilateral crosslinking, scheduled a few weeks after my initial appointment with Accuvision. Everything leading up to the surgery and after was amazing. I felt supported and heard by everyone at Accuvision. The procedure was explained clearly, and the aftercare was laid out so I knew what to expect. The surgery itself was over in the blink of an eye, and for the few weeks after the surgery, I had access to the ophthalmologists any time of day and night, and that was a huge reassurance to me. After recovering from the surgery, we began working to correct my vision on my newly strengthed cornea. This involved trialling every type of contact lens and trying different lenses for my glasses. The team at Accuvision persevered with me as it took me several months to find a solution that suited me. They personalised every aspect of my care so that I achieved the best vision possible with my condition. I have been able to achieve 20/20 vision in my right eye, which I have maintained. With my left eye, which has progressed further, I have a level of vision that allows me to carry on with my daily life and work. If it weren’t for the hard work of everyone at Accuvision, I wouldn’t have found out that my right eye was also affected by this disease and would have a far worse quality of life due to reduced vision. Since my initial diagnosis, I have been followed up regularly and have had to have a second surgery for my left eye due to further progression. Charged £350 for consultation which i was told was free. i wanted laser and ready to pay for procedure but clinic decided my prescription was too low to justify getting LASIK. My eyes in particular are very sensitive and although prescription is low i feel a massive difference in vision quality. Bottom line is just hope you pass suitability test or get ready to pay consultation charge. ps, my eyes were laser treated by another surgery and have near perfect vision, so not sure why these guys couldnt.... I had my surgery a month ago after my friend had hers here and was raving about it. Now I have better than 20:20 vision so it was definitely worth it! My prescription was short sighted (-1.5) and stigmatism in both eyes. The consultation process was clear and informative, didn’t push you into anything. The procedure was quick, painless and the aftercare has been great. If you are on the fence, definitely get a consultation as it really helped allay my fears. One of the best services I had received, from the receptionist to the surgeon I can not say a single negative at all. Vic was just one of the loveliest person that helped me through my procedure and after care, always with a happy atmosphere with him around. Just have had corrective surgery on my right eye from accuvision in Fulham amd I have to say the whole experience was fantastic. From initial consultation right thru til today the first check up after my surgery yesterday. The staff were magic completely putting me at ease and helping me through the lot. Im now day one writing this review on my phone without glasses 😀😀and lastly for anyone thinking of this but worried about the surgery dont be it is completely painless and so quick you dont have time to worry!... I recently had laser eye surgery after being entirely reliant on glasses and contact lenses for many years and and choosing Accuvision was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I was in for laser eye surgery two weeks ago with a prescription of --3.00 in both eyes and a astigmatism, now I have 20/20 vision. I would strongly recommend AccuVision and the team in Fulham to anyone looking to have laser eye surgery. 1. The team were absolutely fantastic; knowledgeable and re-assuring at every step of the way. The clinic has a very family-feel and this was very comforting given that I was anxious about the procedure. 2. I felt supported throughout. At no point was I pressured to proceed, all my questions were answered thoroughly and promptly. During the surgery itself, the team was extremely quick and the procedure pain-free. Spectacular service. Following a great experience, my sister recommended AccuVision to me. I was blown away by the level of care and service I received. 6 months on from the treatment, I couldn't be happier with the outcome. To go from wearing glasses every day for the best part of 25 years to now having 20:20 vision is honestly life changing. A massive thank you to Mary and the entire AccuVission team.

She is extremely knowledgeable and did such a thorough eye exam that thankfully I am no longer wearing glasses that are too strong for me. Had an amazing experience with Accuvision from start to finish. From the first consultation, I was treated like family and my mind was put at ease. My prescription was -3.5 and -2.75 and the price was much better than some of the other places I was quoted. They didn't upsell me anything and gave me the best for my eyes. The procedure itself was only 10 minutes - Vik, Daryus and the whole team were great! After care has also been great. I now have 20/20 vision with no need for additional correction, contacts or glasses. Would highly recommend anyone looking to get LASIK.... (Show more)
Came here for a lens prescription after another high-street optician couldn't get a read (My eyes are a bit more complex to figure out than usual). Vik was a magician in working out the right correction, extremely friendly and talked me through every step. I didn't have to wait very long either and all my questions were answered. Great experience!

I had laser surgery with accuvision just under a year ago now and it's the best decision that I made! I was extremely nervous about having the surgery due to my extremely high prescription of -11.5. Several of my family members had their surgery done with accuvision with great results so I knew choosing Accuvision was a no brainer. The team make you feel comfortable as soon as you walk through the door, I had a very detailed consultation and Vik very kindly addressed all my fears and concerns. The day of the surgery went smoothly and my recovery was smooth sailing. I am so happy I went ahead and took the plunge as it has given me freedom that I didn't have before! My wife did their most advanced non invasive laser eye surgery there around 2021. Staff was exceptional and the results even better! she went from wearing glasses of -10 to 0!!!! and its been 2 years and everything is the same. Exceptional results so i cant complain. Even though everything is better than expected, these types of procedures come with lifetime considerations. She is sensitive to light and has to wear sunglasses when its very sunny but says she would do it again 10 out of 10 times, so this is a little tip for anyone thinking about doing it. To conclude, based on my experience, if I had to do anything mildly important with eyes, these are the guys I would go to again and again.... (Show more)
Initially my experience was great. I had straightforward laser eye surgery to correct short sightedness and Vik especially was incredibly helpful and welcoming. A few months after my surgery however, I started to develop quite bad recurring styes in both eyelids. These then developed into a chalazion. I was given free follow up care for these, in accordance with the accuvision policy that complications resulting from the surgery are covered for a year. I followed the advice but they did not clear up. When it came to needing a small surgical procedure to remove the chalazion (~£600) this was suddenly not covered. The reasoning here was that it was not caused by the surgery. This confused me, firstly because it was preceded by appointments which were covered as a result of the condition being judged to have been caused by the surgery, and secondly because I had never suffered from any eyelid problems at all. Both of those facts suggested to me it was caused by the surgery and therefore should be covered. I paid for the procedure myself but that itself has left me with very dry eyes in the mornings and permanently puffy eye lids. Not to mention the conjunctivitis I developed from a pre-surgery appointment. What’s more, another chalazion developed in the other eye which has now been there for around six months. I cannot afford to pay for more treatment and NHS waiting lists are too long or do not cover this kind of condition, so I am now without options. I understand laser eye surgery is not without side effects, and the consent form I signed states this, but when it came down to support for these side effects, AccuVision was unfortunately lacking.... Outstanding team. Made my vision basically perfect, used to have to wear contact lenses or glasses every day. Had operation two years back, has changed my life and most of all improved my cricket! I was cautious at first given the nature of the operation but I needn't have been - the surgeons, receptionists, experts all excelled. The wonders of science! I had laser eye surgery with AccuVision 2 years ago and couldn't recommend them enough. No pressure to book after the consultation giving you time to think about it. Everything was made clear and my eyes are still as great as the first year. I recommend them if you're thinking of getting laser eye surgery.
I had lazer surgery in 2005 with Optical Express but decided that reading since then had become worse. I'm a computer and electronics technician and found I had to keep switching around two pairs of glasses. One for close work and one for VDU work. It was driving me nuts, as well as having to take my glasses off to see distance. I chose Accuvision because it was only themselves and the London Laser Vision clinic who were willing to take on the task and seeing as Accuvision had the better pricing, I decided to give them a shot. The procedure was painless and quick and all my questions were answered. Cut a long story short I can now read my mobile phone and work on my VDU without glasses. If I need to do really close up work to inspect a tiny serial number on a MacBook then I put on a pair of low powered specs. No more switching between pairs of glasses. My night vision has been effected ever so slightly but that was explained to me at the time and I can live with that. It does take a while for your vision to settle and it will fluctuate over two to three months. Overall I'm happy with the outcome and can say for certain that they know their stuff at Accuvision. Best money I've spent in a while. Will probably go back once I retire (if I'm still alive) and get them to improve my distance and night vision and live with one pair of spec for reading, but for now I couldn't get it any better....
